Well done your DD NannyJan I’m not surprised you’re proud as punch.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Scentia Sat 12-Feb-22 08:17:16

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it feels mild.
Up late again so I will read your posts later.
I am due at our park in 5 minutes as I have organised a litter pick around our estate. I also have replacement signs to put up on the park as the original ones were vandalised.
Must dash, stay safe everyone and if you can, try to find a moment for yourselves and smile?

kittylester Sat 12-Feb-22 08:14:13

Good morning from a dull North Leicestershire.

Not much on today apart from a wander to the village to buy flowers and a card. Then sausage sandwiches for DH and DS1 before they go to watch Forest play.

I shall catch up with missed TV.

Urmstongran Sat 12-Feb-22 08:12:43

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry but seems chilly out. Ballet class (taking & watching) as mummy has a hair appointment then mid afternoon our Yorkshire Lass and her partner arrive. We’ve not seen them in months for one reason or another and I’m so looking forward to seeing them. We will all get together with my stepfather at our little family’s house (more space for 9 of us!) to exchange Christmas presents and enjoy a catch up.

Have a good Saturday all who can. x

Pittcity Sat 12-Feb-22 08:09:13

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Very cold though.
2 x DGS to stay for the weekend so I'd better get the beds made up before they arrive.
Love to all ? x

Feelingmyage55 Sat 12-Feb-22 08:07:01

Good morning from a very wet north of Scotland.
Congratulations NannyJan53 to your daughter.
multicoloured. What a hard time you are both having. ?
Watching a little of the ice skating then a family Zoom call tonight.
Marydoll I’m glad you will have your booster. Good timing.
Can’t imagine why the crumpet lady is locked out hope it is not for long.
I am going to do a quick early shop then home for coffee. Have the best day you can.

mumofmadboys Sat 12-Feb-22 08:03:55

Good morning all! We have a friend staying this weekend who is keen to walk whatever the weather. So we are walking around Derwentwater and up Catbells today . The forecast is rain all day but the exercise will do me good! Hope everyone has the best day possible.

Marydoll Sat 12-Feb-22 08:03:13

Good morning all from Glasgow, it sounds wild out there.
MCSWS, I'm glad to hear you sounding much more upbeat.

Yesterday"s meet up with my ex colleagues was such a joy. So much has happened since we last saw each other, two years ago.
We got such a surprise, when one of our number, revealed that she was late, due to driving down from her new home on the shores of Loch Long, which we knew nothing about. The pandemic had caused her and her husband to rethink their lifestyle, so much so that they closed down their thriving business and upped sticks three weeks ago!
They will spend their time between their homes in Arrochar and the South of France. It sounds idyllic.?

I was quite proud of myself, as I had been very anxious about driving to meet them in a busy part of Glasgow, where parking is difficult, after a few years of not really driving at all. A few wrong lane incidents didn't phase me at all. When I was teaching, I thought nothing of driving all over the county, but have little confidence now.
Onward and upward! New beginnings and all that. We have even set a date for our next lunch, so something to look forward to.

I'm expecting my DD and SIL to visit this morning, probably to dump more stuff in our garage. It was SIL'S birthday on Thursday and I seem to have mislaid one of his gifts. No surprise there!
However, I do have the most important gift, the whisky!

Wishing you all the best day possible. For those finding life so difficult and painful at the moment, sending hugs and prayers.
Now I am off to read your posts.

Ashcombe Sat 12-Feb-22 08:02:23

Congratulations to your DD, NannyJan! You are justifiably proud of her achievement. It disproves the wise words of Jesus Christ in Mark ch.6 v.4:

Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honour except in his own town, among his relatives and in his own home.”

Her success is all the more creditable since most of those on the interview panel would know her. My DD2 has been DH in her school for a similar length of time, hoping to try for the top job eventually but the current incumbent has postponed his plans to retire this summer.

All good things come to those who wait….!

brook2704 Sat 12-Feb-22 07:53:50

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s slightly milder at about 7º but cloudy and grey.
So pleased things are sounding a bit better today multi and hope your DH is back home soon
Today we’re helping with dropping off and picking up DGD from her dance class and a birthday party, in between we’ll try to fit in a shortish walk somewhere in town.
A big congratulations to your DD nannyjan a fantastic achievement and well done to her! Enjoy your family get together too, sounds lovely
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Beechnut Sat 12-Feb-22 07:50:20

Good Morning everyone from a dry Severnside.

I bought some Wensleydale cheese with rhubarb yesterday in Tesco. It was very nice.

Some admin today. My bank statements seem to be coming later and later every month. Some more beading later and prep the slow cooker meal for tomorrow.

I hope you do enjoy your fusion taster BlueBalou. I did one last year and made a picture. I was very pleased with it. I like to try out various craft courses and the next one I want to try will be enamelling.

Have a good day all whatever you do ?? EV ?

NannyJan53 Sat 12-Feb-22 07:41:09

Good morning from a dull and cloudy Black Country.

We are off to Yeovil later this morning for a family 60th party. Staying in Hotel overnight, then popping in to see MrJ’s DD in Bristol on the way home. Not often my family all get together, so should be a good evening.

Proud Mum alert…..Well, DD got through the selection process and is now the Head Teacher of her school! She came home yesterday with a car boot full of, flowers, chocolates, booze etc From all her colleagues . She has been Deputy there for 15 years, knows the school well and is happy.

Must think about packing and decide what to wear tonight, have a good weekend everyone

Ali23 Sat 12-Feb-22 07:39:18

Hello everyone from Leicester.
Bluebalou, enjoy your glass fusion session. We went to one with DD, DDIL and the DGD’s last year and made Xmas decorations to treasure.

Yesterday my friend and I spruced up our wreaths which we made with our friend who died in 2020. She would have loved it?
Later I watched a little bit of half tube at the winter olympics. Hadn’t got a clue what was going on technically, but it was fun!
Have a good day, all, whatever you are doing.

Gingster Sat 12-Feb-22 07:36:19

Good morning all and the sky is a lovely pinky, creamy watercolour wash, here in Essex.

I’ll be taking little DGD to her ballet class this morning and will drop her back home.
Cooking and baking this afternoon in preparation of all the family coming for lunch tomorrow.

Dh and DS1 will be going to a footie match this afternoon, so I’ll have a clear run!

A cuppa and Wordle to fathom first.

Hoping you all have a ‘good’ day whatever it brings. ???

Kim19 Sat 12-Feb-22 07:26:14

N where has Alegrias gone, please? Missed that.

Nannagarra Sat 12-Feb-22 07:11:05

Good morning from a dark and dry Sefton coast.
My aim today is to reduce the piles of books which seem to be breeding and really shouldn’t be spilling everywhere. The problem is I open the cover, become absorbed and nothing gets done…
I too am missing EV and feel saddened by the departure of Alegrias1.
Whatever you’re doing, search for a flamingo and find a reason to smile.
???

Good morning Mick, morning all from breezy South Lanarkshire.

An extra work day today as I’m covering for the manager who has an unwell child. I’ll close up early though as I have cakes to make for DGS’s birthday tea tomorrow.

Have a good day everyone, I’ll come back and read all about your busyness. ??

Sar53 Sat 12-Feb-22 07:03:28

Good morning from a cold and windy Essex by the sea.
Food shopping first thing, the fridge looks very bare, then we have been asked to go and look after DH's 3 youngest grandchildren whilst their parents go and look for a new car.
Rugby this afternoon for DH, I shall probably do some cross stitch.
Have a super Saturday everyone xx

Ashcombe Sat 12-Feb-22 06:43:45

Good morning, all, from a slightly breezy but dry Torbay.

It’s so good to hear you sounding happier, multicolouredswapshop. Friends, whether in reality or virtual, can be such a help. A lovely thought to wear the perfume DH recently gave you and I hope the hospital visit goes well.

It sounds like quite an alcofrolic lunch, *Kim19! What fun!

Last night's performance from our Tadpoles went much better than anticipated. The two narrators had great rapport with each other and with the audience. They were required to be quite pantomimic at times with audience participation, including persuading children on to the stage. Not easy, especially for youngsters.

Today's highlight is the monthly church coffee morning which I often attend. I must also practise the hymns for tomorrow’s service as the musical director fancies a morning off. He is back to regular attendance after a period of poor health.

I hope the weekend is kind to all. ?????

Gagagran Sat 12-Feb-22 06:43:22

Good Morning early birds! It's a bit milder here on the south coast and is 5.1c on my weather station so no scraping of the car windscreen will be needed before our click and collect trip at 7am.

My vertigo has improved a lot thankfully so I am feeling more positive and cheerful. I might even manage to do some pottering involving more movement today. DH is leading a group of his cycling club on a morning ride from 9.15am so we shall have to get a shift on.

I agree about libraries, Mattie. Ours was moved from the centre of our small town before Christmas, to an out of the way location in a community centre which was once the primary school. In the old location it was busy all the time with people calling in to use the computers, Mums and children attending various events put on for them and lots of book borrowing of course. Now, every time I go to change my books I am the only one in there apart from two librarians who cannot have much to do. I can foresee it being closed as uneconomic before too long. They should never have moved it. Apparently the rent was too much but the former premises are still empty. Sad.

Glad your DH is improving multi and I bet he can't wait to get back home.

Like others I am sorry that EV has been banished again. Please let her off the naughty step very soon GNHQ.

Hope the day is a good one for us all sunshine

Kim19 Sat 12-Feb-22 06:30:52

Hello everyone! Saturday and a grand game of rugby in prospect. Yippee! Went for lunch yesterday to a lovely French restaurant and then spontaneously popped into the wine bar below on the way out. Lunch time extended considerably! So love unplanned happenings. We just people watched and chatted for hours. Lovely ....... Have some planning to do for family half term arrival next week but, other than that and a little bit of admin, I should have a relaxing day. I do note the temperature has risen considerably and that is a bonus for me. Cheers!

Good morning everyone it’s been a very windy night here on the east coast of Fife.

Thank you to those giving me pms yesterday your support is truly appreciated

Yesterday was amazing when I finished venting , life became more positive as the day went on I had 2 lovely friends visit me where we put the world to rights.

Positivity definitely gets rid of negativity.

That wind is still blowing a hoollie out there in the darkness.

I’m preparing to visit my dh today who happens to be having a boring time in hospital he’s mending again thank goodness for that, before I set off I’m going to have the remains of the delicious Chinese meal I had last night, spare ribs and chicken curry.
Must wear my fav cocoo madmoselle chanel perfumewhich himself bought me for Christmas perfume before I set off wink

Have a good day lovely gns hugs to you all flowers

Pantglas2 Sat 12-Feb-22 06:14:03

Good morning Mick and all who follow from a dark and dry north Wales where I’m enjoying the chamberpot ☕️ and the quiet on the downbeat of DHs ? snores!

Sad ☹️ to read that our Crumpet Queen is banished - I shall have some later in her honour, needs must! Harrigran what a job your beloved has left you - a box at a time would be my solution, with whatever treat you fancy when you’re done ?????

Trotting to Waitrose later - their Valentines Meal Deal seems the best value ( @nd trust me, I’ve checked them all....?) then the rugby....hmmm, yes, ??????? need to pull their socks up or I’ll be ?‍? at the end of this tournament ?

Have a good weekend everyone x

grandMattie Sat 12-Feb-22 06:13:00

Good morning from a dark, dry E Kent. Venus looking good.
Nothing much happening today. Just finishing the tote for one of you, library possibly as the books I borrowed either bored me or were completely not what I though they’d be. We need to use it, as it had been under threat of closure for several years. Every day, it’s open, there are groups meeting for French conversation, bridge, scrabble, crafts, etc. It would be a sad day if it closed.
Hoping you all have a good weekend with no cares. Carpe diem. ?????❤️?
