Like her or not Janey Godley is still managing to make folks laugh during her horrible chemo journey. The postings yesterday were so much fun the potty mouths including mine gave their version of a personal journey which affects most folks in life. I recommend a read of these to enlighten you in your chemo journey too.

Not heard of the lady

Where were you in lockdown???? Her voice overseas of Nicola Sturgeons daily briefings were all over SM, youtube etc ....you couldn't go on the Internet without seeing a clip...

Voice overs

nandad Sat 12-Feb-22 07:25:09

Nope, not heard of her either. Why would she be doing voice overs fir Nicola Sturgeon?

Aveline Sat 12-Feb-22 07:31:16

I only saw her really appallingly unpleasant postings on Twitter. Am not buying in to her attempts to rehabilitate her image. No wonder Scottish government dropped her like a hot brick.

They are not ordinary voice overs.

She wished cancer on others. Biter bit?

Visgir1 Sat 12-Feb-22 08:42:16

Great voice overs comedy from Janey. Get the door Frank...

Loved the one from a few years ago about NS having a phone call from Teresa May (big Teresa) about a Netflix account.

Nope not heard of her either but then I am not on social media other than GN, assuming that counts.

silverlining48 Sat 12-Feb-22 08:58:24

Do know how hard extensive chemo is so wish anyone on it well. flowers

She did? ? Evidence, please. Because you can't make that kind of claim without evidence.

I had heard of Jane Godley and even listened to some of her voice-overs of The First Minister. They were definitely funny. But you can have enough of that kind of nasal voice.

Aveline Sat 12-Feb-22 09:06:05

Baggs she deleted the offending ,and deeply offensive tweets. She wasn't dropped by Scottish Government for nothing! Google it.

Hetty58 Sat 12-Feb-22 09:09:08

Is cancer treatment a 'a personal journey which affects most folks in life'? I really don't think so, - and why, oh why is suffering from cancer, dementia etc. called a 'journey' anyway?

Thanks. I do vaguely remember a bit of an uproar concerning her but I wasn't following her.

(I believe it's supposed to be better than calling it a battle - or fight - but why not just call it an illness?)

multicolourswapshop Sun 13-Feb-22 07:54:25

Hetty58 it’s all down to a word which is comforting to the individual and cancer is an illness associated with a horrific journey to get well again.
Have a good day flowers

While I wouldn't wish cancer on anyone, I personally find her about as funny as toothache, and she has a long history of being very offensive not only on stage, but on social media - Twitter in particular. Some of the stuff she posted was unbelievably racist and also disgusting towards disabled people.

merlotgran Sun 13-Feb-22 09:40:44

What is it about comedians who are never content with just being funny but have to push the boundaries beyond offensive?

I didn’t realise Janey Godley had gone to the same charm school as Frankie Boyle and Jimmy Carr.

Shame because during the first Lockdown I thought her send ups of NS were spot on.

I suppose because it is predicted that one in two of us will get cancer then it is true that most people may be affected as either they or a loved one will get some form of it.

Is she the woman who did the skits of Nicola Stureon?
I saw one once, I think.

Whoever she is, I wish her well with her treatment.

I listened to part of a link I was sent of Jane Godley, enough to realise I don’t share her particular humour.

Having lost friends and family to cancer, being pedantic wasn’t part of the support I gave as they suffered this hellish illness.
