Well it started as one of those days!! But improved later. I was awake in a lot of pain with my back about 4am. tried to go back to sleep but gave up about 5ish. Had a meeting organised for 11am and so had quite a struggle and took a long time to get showered dressed and of to meeting. Other person did not arrive, checked that I had the right day etc. No signal on my phone. Waited until 1130 and then went out and wandered around until the phone had a signal and rang the other person. They had had a problem with the car, the garage said it would be ready at 10am but part did not arrive. They tried to ring me but my phone not working etc. So we have had to rearrange for next friday and hope to succeed. So I had spent a lot of time and effort getting there and was not in the mood to just go home and get on with many jobs awaiting my attention. Thought beggar it , it was quite sunny and windy and the forecast for the next few days is yet more storms, so I played hookey and drove across to Bridlington , wasnt up to walking but enioyed seeing the sea and have a nice coffee at a favourite cafe. The pleasant young woman who has served me on other occasions said you are looking very smart today. I found that very cheering that my efforts were noticed so was cheered by that. Sat and listened to lovely concert on radio 3, then went home and shopped on my way back and hence only looked at all your messages late in the evening, but overall at least felt the day was not wasted one way and another. we shall see what happens on friday now" There is going to be quite a catch up in humdrum jobs tomorrow. Hope you all have a good night

Good morning Mick and everybody. It’s dry in my corner of Lancashire this morning, currently 8°C.

No particular plans for today other than wrapping Mr. B’s birthday presents ready for tomorrow, hoping to get out for a walk later.

Enjoy your Bicester trip Mick.

Beautiful flowers Ashcombe.

Hope you feel better soon Grandmadinosaur.

Look after yourself Marydoll, you really do need to give yourself a break atm. Your health is very important. Soop has many friends in here and we are all grateful for updates.

It was so good to hear yesterday that soop has had the surgery and she is now on the road to recovery.

Wishing you all the best possible day. May all those with worries find some comfort and all who are under the weather find some relief. ?

Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast.
My sister is driving up from London today, so I hope the winds aren’t a bother, it will be lovely to have her here. I’m cooking a chicken and am going to use up a couple of the massive baking apples given to me by my neighbour in the autumn, popping them in the microwave. Long time since I have baked apples with brown sugar, raisins etc.
My friend from Cheshire stayed over the weekend and as he has a birthday coming up, I gave him a valentine card and gift plus birthday present. We had a nice Italian meal at award winning family run Italian restaurant, walks etc so even though the weather was dire, we had a nice time.
Off to sing at music club this afternoon but fear my voice is rusty with all this hostessing and no practising!
Special thoughts to chrisslielou and gingster, health is the most important thing.

Good morning all,

It’s a drizzly and breezy one today here in South Yorkshire- a prelude to the storms due to hit us in the next few days, I think. I will go outdoors later and make sure everything is as well anchored down as it can be.

I’m sorry to hear that you will no longer be posting, multicolouredswapshop, but wish you all the best.

Marydoll, I hope the break brings you some peace and strength, and hope you will be back posting soon.

Well, whatever your plans for the day, I hope you have a good one. Take care.

Good morning all, GrandMattie. I had a bridge ‘fall out’ (top front!) a couple of weeks ago, very glam, but I had it done early 80s so it owed me nothing; problem now is the supporting teeth won’t support another so three extractions over several weeks to be done and a denture, first one out on Friday, slow job because I’m taking blood thinners. To say I’m feeling shaky is an understatement….???. My mum used to say teeth are a nuisance coming and a nuisance going.

Good morning from cloudy W Kent. Sorry to hear of all the various problems, hope life improves soon.
Off to hairdressers later and hoping to visit friend this afternoon but have heard nothing from her yet, we shall see.
Best wishes to all

Good morning everyone from a very grey and cloudy Northampton, rain is forecast, but hoping we may be lucky that we miss it on our walk this afternoon. Did not sleep well last night, so had a bit of a lie-in to compensate.

No yoga yesterday, as it would have been too much of a rush to get to the surgery afterwards. Just a routine blood test and blood pressure check which the nurse was very pleased with. Afterwards went to the little cafe in the village for a coffee where I met two friends who asked me to join them. Had a nice chat for half an hour or so then walked home, calling in at the shop to get a baguette which I fancied for lunch.

Rang my holiday company in the afternoon to let them know about my new medication; now they have to cogitate as to whether they will continue to insure me for my cruise in August. Awaiting another phone call from them. If they won't, then I have already researched and got quotes from other companies who will. All an arm and a leg though, but I really need the holiday, so will have to cough up!

Hoping today is kind to us all. Sorry to see people leaving or taking a break; they will be missed.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a rather cloudy and breezy Carlisle. Obviously it's rained during the night but more and more blue sky is showing so I'm hoping there will be an opportunity to plant the tree I dug a big hole for yesterday afternoon. I spoke to DS2 in Sydney yesterday morning and had to explain the term "February Fill-Dyke" to him, he claimed not to have heard of it!
Today I have already whizzed the vac around upstairs, next, mopping floors and then that may be it for the day in the housework department. Then various bits of admin over the phone after which the afternoon should be free for more fun things.
Best wishes to you MCSS, if you must go. Good that you aren't just disappearing and leaving us to wonder.

And the best possible day to all.

Georgesgran Tue 15-Feb-22 09:18:00

Good morning from a soggy Durham. I don’t think it’s stopped raining since Saturday, but at least I don’t have to water my new turf.
Sorry to read so many GN’s are having a rough time at the moment and can only offer my heartfelt good wishes to them and their families. X

Jaxjacky Tue 15-Feb-22 09:17:21

Sorry to hear that Chrissielou take care of yourself.

You’ll be missed mcss good luck in your future.

A difficult day gMattie for you and your GS?

TopsyIrene06 Tue 15-Feb-22 09:17:14

Good wishes Marydoll. You are the reason I sometimes post. Look after yourself sweetie.

grandMattie Tue 15-Feb-22 09:13:38

I’m sorry you’re taking a sabbatical, Marydoll. All the best. And would you let us know how soop is doing, please?

Chrissielou Tue 15-Feb-22 09:04:25

A grey chilly day here in Oxfordshire. I will make it short today. I admit to feeling a bit battered today as DD1 had a difficult hospital visit yesterday, with a multitude of problems from the outset.
I hope all find some sunshine today.

harrigran Tue 15-Feb-22 09:04:18

Good morning from a rainy NE, yet again.
Busy day yesterday with more paperwork and SIL sorted out an issue with BT, they acknowledged DH's death but still insist on sending bills in his name.
DS is coming today, not sure we will be going out if it remains wet.
Have the best day you can.

Marydoll Tue 15-Feb-22 09:03:24

Good morning from a chilly Glasgow.

Nannyjan, my condolences to your SIL and his family.

Ash, you are a very lucky lady!

Baubles, I hope you manage to get through the day, without feeling too awful.

I have known Multic for a long time and received a number of PMs from her on Sunday, saying she was leaving and why. I think it is a very wise decision.
I wish her well.

Hving been on this thread from its inception, it has become an addiction. However, I'm taking a step back from this thread for a few days, so don't be concerned about my absence. I will probably post on the Wurdle and Nerdle threads, but if I don't, then be concerned! ?

It is usually a kind and supportive thread, but I was really upset on Sunday after the unnecessary comment about my post, concerning Soop
Furthermore, I can't seem to get things right at the moment and I am not robust enough to deal with things, so its best to retreat for my own sake.
Please don't think I'm doing the poor, little old me thing,, I just have an awful lot to deal with healthwise at the moment and I need to concentrate on that.

There are so many lovely and kind people on here, with such sorrows to bear, yet they think of others, before themselves. Thank to all those, who took the time to message me on Sunday.

Wishing you all the best of days and better days to come.

love0c Tue 15-Feb-22 09:02:53

Multicolouredswopshop smile I have only just joined in the morning thread this week. Seems a lovely chatty thread. Sorry you are leaving.

Nannagarra Tue 15-Feb-22 09:02:40

Good morning from the Sefton coast.
Gym and swim for me today rather than walking or cycling (it’s wet and grey here). I’m half way through a 1,000 piece jigsaw, the scene painted by Trevor Mitchell who illustrated for Salmon stationery. Puzzle + cup of tea + radio = happy bunny.
My thoughts are with you grandMattie and your DGS as you make the final visit.
???
Have the best day you can everyone.

Nannytopsy Tue 15-Feb-22 09:01:44

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Grey and breezy in Suffolk so far but wind and rain to come. I am eager for a bit of warmer weather so that I can do the final tidy in the garden and move a few plants. I hate gardening in wind.
DGS wants a satyr costume for World Book Day - of course he does! Furry trousers today then.
I hope the day is kind to everyone and that you are all enjoying half term. Ours is next week.

cornergran Tue 15-Feb-22 08:58:58

Best wishes MCSS, thank you for letting us know, its horrid when folk disappear.

Grandmabatty Tue 15-Feb-22 08:54:40

Good morning all from Polmont. 5° here and it's been wet. Cloudy at the moment and showers are forecast.
Beautiful flowers Ashcombe. I'm sorry to see you going Multicoloured. Take care.
Another quiet day for me as I'm not feeling wonderful. Have a good day all.

Anniebach Tue 15-Feb-22 08:54:00

Good morning Auntyflo and all x
