Sorry about the title, me brain`s not at it`s best at this time of day!

Blossoming Fri 25-Mar-22 14:29:56

Thank you all, I knew I‘ d find understanding in this wonderful kitchen. I’ve just been for a stroll in the sunshine to celebrate, it’s still very warm but there’s just enough breeze to make it comfortable. The Lidl pansies that Mr. B bought me when I was feeling poorly months ago are still flowering wildly. They are so beautiful.

Cry, laugh, clap your hands, Blossoming ……. whatever you feel like doing. You have every reason to feel elated.
and we’re right there with you ? ? ? . ?
Mmmm lovely aroma of fresh bread in the kitchen today ?.
Thank you Grandmabatty.

Urmstongran Fri 25-Mar-22 13:56:12

??

Grandmabatty Fri 25-Mar-22 13:42:04

I've just had two slices Urms, with lurpak. It was delicious! I'll save you a slice.

Urmstongran Fri 25-Mar-22 13:33:35

Ooh, save a slice for me later please Grandmabatty! I’ve got to watch my carbs intake now (pre-diabetic) but one slice with butter would be perfect with some soup. I don’t make it (can’t be bothered faffing) so a carton of Covent Garden mushroom soup will have to suffice!

WONDERFUL news Blossoming! Your relief and joy are palpable. I’m so pleased for you!

Jaxjacky Fri 25-Mar-22 13:26:33

I’d be in floods Blossoming it’s relief, let the gates open, what wonderful, wonderful news ??

Grandmabatty Fri 25-Mar-22 13:22:35

Good news Blossoming Go ahead and have a good cry!

Blossoming Fri 25-Mar-22 13:17:44

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. It’s another beautiful sunny day here and I have just received a letter from my colorectal surgeon to let me know that my recent blood tes results were normal. It’s good to be alive today, and for some reason I want to cry!

Grandmabatty Fri 25-Mar-22 12:35:47

Hello there kitcheners. It's another fine day as the clouds have lifted exposing blue skies. I have washed sheets and duvet covers and got them outside to make the most of the sunshine. I've hoovered throughout and here is a loaf I have made. The smell is killing me but it needs to cool down first so a slightly later lunch of lentil soup and freshly made bread and butter. Some light pottering this afternoon. Have a good afternoon all.

Blossoming Thu 24-Mar-22 22:06:25

Evening dear Kitcheners. That all sounds promising Soop and it’s good you’re thinking about a break. Great that you were able to spend time with your son and his GF Jax.

Mr. B and I were thinking about a few days in Galloway in May to visit The Kist in Wigtown, but are wondering what Covid restrictions would be like by then.

‘Evening All’

It was a joy to pick the grandchildren up after school this afternoon in the sunshine then take them for their swimming lessons. We’ve missed them.

Fingers crossed for your holiday in the beautiful Highlands in a few weeks soop just what the doctor would order I expect.
x

Yay soop a wee holiday in the highlands to look forward to - what could be better news! Let’s hope you get it booked soon and can count down the days
Sounds like a good day Jax lunch out in the sunshine ? and time off too - definitely no need to feel guilty though - just enjoy!
We enjoyed a little bit too much sangria and good food today so now it’s time for a coffee and an early night to recover
We’re travelling home tomorrow so back in our own bed tomorrow night, I’m one of those people who love to go away and see new things but also like to be back at home too!
Have a lovely evening all

Good to hear you are steadily improving Soop. shamrock flowers

Charleygirl5 Thu 24-Mar-22 18:31:41

I cannot believe the weather has been so good this week. I have been trying to wash everything in sight.

soop that sounds like an excellent idea to plan a trip in May.

Urms you have missed glorious weather here!

Jaxjacky Thu 24-Mar-22 18:17:09

Sounds good soop and a sniff of a holiday ahead, every day a little step.
Glorious day here again, took my (very bored) son and his GF out for lunch, she cut up his lasagna, made me grin and we sat outside. Watered the new plants, in March! and I’ve run out of potting compost, trip out tomorrow. I was relieved of my usual charity phone calls today by my sort of boss, she said to enjoy my lunch out, so no rush, I felt a bit guilty, how daft.
Sun setting, I think a small glass is in order. I might actually bring some snacks to the kitchen tomorrow, you must all be starving.
Have a lovely evening all x

cornergran Thu 24-Mar-22 18:12:12

That sounds positive soop. Onwards and upwards smile.

soop Thu 24-Mar-22 14:33:23

Dear Fennel Argyll and Bute it is. The Kintyre peninsula. Gorgeous in every sense. smile

Welcome back, Urms. I'm so pleased that sun put his hat on.

dusty Your body is the best judge of what's best for you. (hugs)

Jax Enjoy your treat.

My 02 mobile phone signal has gone into hiding. A right buggeration.

A nurse popped in to take a wee look at the small ulcer sitting alongside the stoma. She was pleased with the healing process thus far. Every day sees some improvement. We are discussing when a trip to our favourite location in the Highlands may take place. May, maybe. grin

Good evening lovely Kitcheners, it’s been a long hot day here, not that I’m complaining! It’s lovely to read happy posts. Glad you’re home safe and well Urmstongran.

Good luck with the physio dustyangel, mine used to love to push me outside my comfort zone!

Fennel Wed 23-Mar-22 20:56:16

soop - I often think of the lovely place where you live.
Is it in Argyll and Bute?
watching Escape to the country I imagine the scenery is something like the first proprty here:
www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m001045w/escape-to-the-country-series-22-2-argyll-and-bute
Glad to see that you seem you be getting back your "getting to go".
But take it easy - your body has had a major shock.

brook2704 Wed 23-Mar-22 20:06:23

Pleased you’re home safely Urms enjoy the Manchester sunshine ? it’s definitely been mixed weather here in Palma but it’s not stoped us doing anything - but a bit more sunshine would have been nice!
Great news about Imogen Jax well done to your clever DGD
Hope your physio appt tomorrow goes ok dusty just do what you can, safe travels to your DD
Sounds like you had a lovely day Grannmarie - happy memories made

Jaxjacky Wed 23-Mar-22 19:36:39

Good your home safely Urms, it’s glorious isn’t it, all change next week.
You still sound chirpy soop and resting, all very cheering.
Bit more garden pottering today, washing, cleaning, driving of elderly person to diabetes clinic. Taking son and his GF out to lunch tomorrow, she can cut his food up! An excellent interim report from Imogen’s school, that girl is doing well.
dusty sounds daunting, best of luck ?.
Enjoy your evening all x

Urmstongran Wed 23-Mar-22 18:14:05

? for you dustyangel!

dustyangel Wed 23-Mar-22 18:07:20

You’re in the best place Urms, it’s been pouring here all day.
I’ve told DD1, who’s coming out on Sunday for three days, she’s going back on Tuesday, to make the most of it as the forecast is no better for the next week.
I’ve got the physio coming tomorrow and I know she wants me to try the outside stairs which I don’t really feel ready for.
I hope it rains in the morning. grin

Urmstongran Wed 23-Mar-22 17:47:15

‘Evening All’

Just popped in to say we’re home in sunny Manchester! ✈️Wowzer. What a beautiful balmy evening too. A very pleasant surprise. I think the UK has had the nicer weather these past few days. We left Spain with an awfully dark sky over the mountains!

It’s nice to be back and the kettle’s on for a cuppa plus the water heater for a shower later.
