It is blowing a hoolie here. I was a bit worried when I watched the news last night though regarding the river Severn. Shouldn't those people have been told to evacuate?
I did wonder if some places along the Severn and the Wye would evacuate as a spring tide was due as well today but I don't think they have.
I'm not going out to check.
Why do TV companies send reporters and camera operators to the sea fronts to show us how bad it is and warn us not to go out?
I forget where they were but the people i this one town had been told the Severn would come up the top of the ground floor? I would have left if I could
it is a bloody frightening river at the best of times
I think it was Frampton-on-Severn, further up the Severn towards Gloucester which was on the news but other areas are susceptible to flooding too.
Perhaps it's because the river narrows around there and a rush of water from a strong tide comes up river and has nowhere to go.
Of course, the river used to be dredged years ago right up to Gloucester Docks but that doesn't happen any more.
