How do you hang your washing out?
It’s been a while so I will start us off…….whats for supper and why?
Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry and cold outside here in brackley this morning.
Yesterday , partly never went to plan as the driver of the bus to Buckingham choose to wait until Bicester bus had arrived before he came across.
Anyway , it was a busy Saturday in Bicester , no doubt people making up for loss of shopping because of the storm.
Today, a quiet day in with TV etc.
Take Care ,
Mick

So sorry to hear about your broken hip dustyangel unfortunately I’ve no experience of this so can’t offer any advice but hope you’re feeling much better soon ?
Gingster everything crossed for you that power is restored soon
Good morning everyone, not such a good one for me as I fell and cracked a bone in my hip on Friday and after spending the day in A&E. was sent home with no more advice than take paracetamol to the tender mercies of my husband. I’m sure some of you have been there and I would appreciate any advice that anyone has.
Happy birthday to you Gillgran. Have a lovely day ???
Happy Birthday gillgran ???have a lovely lunch.
Gingster
Thanks everyone for your very kind messages. It gives us a boost to know people are thinking of us. ❤️
Thankyou Urms for your pm. I’ve messaged you back ?xx
We need you back in Essex for the end of the month ☕️?
P.S. - hope the power is soon restored for you, Gingster.
Good morning all,
It’s a very wet and breezy South Yorkshire today, but mildish at the moment. It got pretty wild through the night though.
Received some “in the green” snowdrops yesterday, so I’m hoping it’s at least dry in the morning so that I can plant them, it’s too wet to do it today.
Wishing you all a good day, whatever you are doing.
Thanks everyone for your very kind messages. It gives us a boost to know people are thinking of us. ❤️
Thankyou Urms for your pm. I’ve messaged you back ?xx
Good morning Mick and everybody. It’s raining in my corner of Lancashire this morning, much milder, currently 11°C. The wind returned with a vengeance last night and I slept poorly. Still blowing now, so no walk today.
Hope your power is restored soon Gingster.
Glad that Friday went well GrannySomerset despite the travel problems, I hope you have a good sleep once the visitors are safely on their way.
Wishing you all the best possible day. May all those with worries find some comfort and all who are under the weather find some relief.
Happy birthday gillgran ! Enjoy your lunch ??
Good Morning from a wet & windy N.,Cambs.,
I've been thinking of you, Gingster, I hope you are OK & managing with no power, (I think/imagine that you are a (sort of) diagonal line across East Anglia from our little home-from-home on the NW Norfolk coast).
Out for Sunday lunch today as it's my ....th birthday.
Warm wishes to you all.
Morning everyone from a grey windy north Kent coast. It’s going to be windy again later today. We lost a couple of ridge tiles off the roof on Friday so hope the others are glued on ok. Fortunately apart from the tiles there was no damage as I had just moved my car away from the house after a bit of mortar rolled its way down the side roof - a sign that things were moving around up there. Good job I parked it further up the drive otherwise it would be sporting some severe dents! DH’s car avoided any of the debris. Now to find a roofer!
DD and family are travelling back from York later today so will be anxious until they are safely home.
Hope you all have a good and safe day.
I’m awed by your expertise in your garden EkwaNimitee - you sound like Charlie Dimmock!
Still quite windy and very, very wet here. After a packed couple of days DD and family are off home to Liverpool but by train, not the car they drove down in which died about five miles away on Thursday evening. Car has, we hope, been transported home to Liverpool on a low loader by the AA and should be at home awaiting a decision on its future. An added drama which we could all have done without!
Friday was an amazing day, sad and joyful, with DH’s memorial service well attended by locals and watched worldwide on a live stream. Our AC were excellent and everything worked perfectly and did DH proud, which was what I wanted.
Now the house is in a bustle as they get ready to leave - I am taking them and some of their luggage to Temple Meads, the rest of their stuff they will pick up in a couple of weeks when they will be collecting and returning me for a birthday trip. Think I may well sleep for several days once the house is returned to order!
Thank you to everyone who sent kind wishes. We had a lovely day yesterday took DGS1 to the macmillan charity lunch then home to DS2 house where we had a catch up afternoon with the whole family. Absolute bliss after all this time.
Hugs to all who need one.
Good morning all from windy W Kent. Busy day yesterday doing DD2's washing, as no sooner had they moved into their new home than they lost all power, it has taken 36 hours to get it restored, they are in quite a pickle.
Quite day today before a busy week.
Best wishes to all.
Good morning to everyone from a blustery Yorkshire i will be honest and say i havent even got up ! I went to the loo at some unearthly hour and once back in bed, fell zzzzz till now !! 9.26?? thats bad !
My GD came yesterday to sleep for the week ( school holidays ). She is 13 and i gave her a shoe box that was full of her old baby clothes, she couldnt believe that she was soooo small.
I keep all sorts of things, i have 5 memories boxes, of course all photos are now on electronic devices, if 1 of my GC say something funny, I write it down and pop it in my memories box because we forget the little things don't we?
Anyway, enjoy your day everyone, i hope the weather is fine for you, i am getting up now. LAZY BONES.
Good morning from a sunny NE. It was wet and windy all night.
My sister rang last night and talked for nearly two hours, she says she is very lonely despite the fact that she is out and about every day.
DD and SIL are coming for dinner tonight, Chateaubriand for two of us and Tofu steak for DD.
My tablet won't connect to the internet so hope SIL will sort it for me, I am useless with technology.
Take care if you are out and about today.
Good morning Mick and everyone from wet and wild Carlisle where it has been so all night. No going outside today, I shall probably snug up in my cosy sitting room with my very long book and some music. A steak to thaw out for dinner I think.
Yesterday morning my bareroot roses arrived and in the afternoon I managed to get out and plant two of them. They were shrub roses with well developed root systems meaning they needed big holes digging in my solid clay. Hence only 2 roses in, the others are heeled in awaiting better weather which doesn't seem imminent judging by the forecast.
Wishing you all a pleasant day and wishing Gingster a speedy resolution of the electricity problem.
Good morning all. It’s a bit wild again this morning.
The storm did indeed return here in the afternoon. We’d gone a short run down to Doncaster . I got a couple of bargain dresses for £5 in the M&S clearance and a couple of pairs of shoes for an upcoming holiday. Set off for home after lunch and planned a stop for a late lunch at a pub near home. We watched the huge snowflakes coming down as we were there. Thankfully they were wet and didn’t settle.
A bit of housework here today and a tapas lunch.
Great news that team GB at last have won gold at Beijing ??
Hope you get sorted soon Ginster
Take care everyone.
Good morning everyone from a cloudy and windy Northampton. Dry at the moment and hope it stays like it as I am out to the cinema this afternoon to see Death on the Nile.
A disappointing result to our rugby match yesterday, losing by one point. For the first time ever I got really upset, as it all hinged on the final kick of the match. Had to pull myself together and remind myself that it's only a game!
No cooking when I get back from the cinema, just a fish pie to pop in the oven, and some veggies in the microwave. Plus a nice glass of chilled white wine.
Wishing all a good Sunday.
Good morning from a wild, wet and windy County Durham. The wind is sweeping across the valley at the moment and hammering against the windows. As a child I loved that sound but not anymore.
We will be meeting DD2 and family for lunch today after having had an evening meal yesterday with DD1. A quiet day ahead for the remainder with knitting and some planning regarding outings over the next two days with GC as it's half term here. Fingers crossed the weather improves.
Have the best day you can everyone.
Good morning all from our corner of the S Welsh coast, heavy rain and windy here and the seagulls are noisy which is never a good sign.
I'm sorry you are still without power Gingster, I hope you are sorted soon so that you can return home. Our son's partner's brother and family are in a similar situation in Carmarthenshire since Friday morning, horrible.
Ds and family came for the afternoon, our little dgd's first visit to our house, I think her Mum was suffering from cabin fever!
I played Hide and Seek (indoors!) with the five year old, at one point she whispered to me " you'll never guess where I hided it " ? bless.
DD arrived safely and is visiting Alcatraz today, she sent an amazing video of the Golden Gate bridge as the plane came in to land.
A quiet day for us, sirloin steak for later with new potatoes and mushrooms.
Hope Sunday is kind to us all.
