Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and dry outside without any wind of strong terms in brackley this morning.
Today ,after housework I will get the bus to Bicester for my usual routine .
Also looking ahead as to my weekend in York , assuming the floods have not reach there ,as the hotel is alongside the river Ouse as well.
Take Care,
Mick

I have missed some messages so hope that people in hospital are doing well and that their families are getting good news and able to be freed from the stress. grandmadinosaur and shazzakunazza I wonder where you both are I am in Northallerton and come across to east riding quite a bit. I was at school in Beverly High School ( a very long time ago!) and love going across the wolds to Brid or whitby. There does not seem to be a lot of people from this area. It has been a bit wild and windy today but hopefully the wind will help to dry places up. There have been floods up in the dales and still some of those very stupid people who for some reason think that road flooded do not pass, does not apply to them, and they dont know how quickly the road dips and end up with flooded cars. I did hospital car for over 10 years and definitely used to know all the different ways to avoid the floods around Keld and Hawes and many different little by ways that you need to know. York does not look good at the moment and dont know how well the floodwater will have dropped before the weekend so hope that Mick will be lucky. Hope you all keep dry and safe and still have power on

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny northwest coast.
Out today for the first time in a few days after the storms. I’m singing this afternoon at our music club but my acid reflux has caused a lot of coughing and croaky throat. Triggered by sumptuous meal with my sister and red wine last week.
I’m going to visit my friends mother in nursing home too after singing, she had a fall and lay on her floor for 15 hours before help arrived. Didn’t use her alarm as didn’t want to disturb anyone!
Thoughts to Scentia Fanny grandmattie and Iris.

My goodness, I am very late this morning! Was pre-occupied as I had to ring the surgery at 8 to get an appointment to speak to a doctor, which I have since done. Must have been near the top of the phone queue. Blood test booked for Thursday.

Anyway, good morning from a dull and windy Northampton. Hope to walk this afternoon, but must be home by 4pm as a man is coming to give me a quote to clean the sitting-room suite.

Managed to survive the showers and wind yesterday without the fence falling over (fingers crossed!).

Had a lovely lunch out yesterday with a teaching colleague from the 1970s, and her DH. We were impressed with the pub we went to, lovely food and atmosphere. Afterwards they came back here for coffee where we spent a happy afternoon chatting.

Then disaster! Managed to block the bathroom loo! Left it overnight, looked up remedies on the internet, and it is now sorted. The advice was to pour in washing-up liquid, leave to soak and then pour down a gallon of hot water. Left again to work, flushed, and hey presto! all clear now. Had visions of rubber gloves, plunger and a bucket, but none of those needed.

Now to pop back and read everyone's 'doings'.

Take care and stay safe.

Bin men, that should say ??

Mapleleaf Tue 22-Feb-22 10:38:15

Good morning all,

Yet another blustery and showery day in South Yorkshire. It calmed down a bit yesterday pm, but has returned.
The bun men have just been, so I’d better go and retrieve the bin before it blows away.

Will come back to read all the posts later.

Take care.

Thinking of you both today Scentia and fingers crossed they can get those stents in. Hope you can get some sleep.

brook2704 Tue 22-Feb-22 10:07:53

Happy Anniversary baubles enjoy your special day together! ❤️??

Scentia Tue 22-Feb-22 10:06:35

Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs Baubles ???

Scentia Tue 22-Feb-22 10:04:25

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it isn’t so windy today.
DH managed a bit of sleep on the ward last night which is good as they are going to have a go at fitting some stents in this morning. He was desperate to avoid a bypass so they are trying the stents first. He has 1 artery which is 100% blocked so it makes inserting the stents a little complex, but they are the top surgeons in the country so if they can’t get them in, no one can.
I am at the factory just doing a few jobs then I am off home to try and get some shut eye. I was binge watching Vera until 4 this morning!!

Hope you are all well today, as well as you can be anyway❤️

Happy Anniversary *Mr&Mrsbaubles ?

Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs Baubles ??

Lins1066 Tue 22-Feb-22 09:53:42

Good morning all from a wet and windy S Welsh coast.
A chores day ahead and some soup making.
Little dog is prostrate on his chair - he has several you understand - after a romp around the exercise field with the dog walker yesterday and an early morning walk with Mr Lins.
Hopefully he's out for the count for a while, the dog I mean.
GM I hope all goes well for Iris tomorrow.
Glad you got home safely if not uneventfully Beau.
Our Dd is now in L.A. after a lovely few days in San Francisco, the photo of her in a cell in Alcatraz was a bit disconcerting!
Grammaretto will you send your volunteer south? plenty to occupy him or her here.

Have a good day everyone.

luluaugust Tue 22-Feb-22 09:52:16

Good morning all from an overcast W Kent. Having cancelled outing yesterday decided to see if I could sell surplus books to online company, amazed at what they don't take and what they do, all the rest to the nearest charity shop.
Friend coming for tea later and DH to new dentist, he is not looking forward to it.
Safe journeys and good wishes to all.

Chris3 Tue 22-Feb-22 09:39:00

Good morning from wet and windy South Yorkshire. Yesterday's paper mache went really well and we are continuing today. DGS1 is trying his best to make an engine shed. DGD1 and I have elected to make slightly less ambitious pots ?
If all goes to plan we are going to have a go at making a rag mermaid today!
Thoughts with all those with troubles ?
Have a good day all x

Pittcity Tue 22-Feb-22 09:22:59

The date is not only a palindrome but also an ambigram!

Good morning from Durham and at the risk of repeating myself, it's still wild, wet and windy. Had a late night read of yesterday's messages and shocked to hear of Scentia and FCs poorly DHs. I can only echo that Mr. S's fitness will play a big part in his recovery. Also pleased to read that Grannysomerset is getting out and about after what seems such a long ordeal. I am always sad that my DH didn't get the funeral he deserved, due to covid and like another friend, we think so long has passed now, it's not appropriate to try and organise memorial services for them.
At least there are some upbeat messages today, so many congratulations to those who have something to celebrate.
Must rush to get DD2's dogs out while there's a lull in the
rain. Have a good day everyone.

Stilllearning Tue 22-Feb-22 09:09:51

Happy Anniversary baubles, what a lovely start to your day!

EkwaNimitee Tue 22-Feb-22 09:07:52

Good morning Mick and everyone from dark breezy and very wet Carlisle. Annoying because I could have got outside yesterday when it was sunny but was stuck waiting for the gas engineer. He eventually arrived after lunch, in a state because he'd had so much trouble finding me. Apparently the developers had started to finish the road surfaces at one entrance to the estate, unfortunately the one he'd arrived at. So then it's a bit of a twizzle round country roads to get to the other side of the estate, and then my bit of it is still not on satnav maps. It took him a while to calm down!
I shall finish off the housework this morning and hope the weather improves for the afternoon.
Wishing you all a pleasant day.

Urmstongran Tue 22-Feb-22 09:06:51

Just noticed - today’s thread says it’s the 2nd February!

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 22-Feb-22 09:06:04
