I had a brilliant hairdresser for eight years he specialised in colouring. During the first lockdown he left.
Now I have someone else and have gone grey, he's a pleasant but I sometimes come out with the old "Purdie" cut that makes me look like a budgie. When I tell him he remembers and gives me a very good cut. Though I have to remind him every time. Maybe I don't go often enough every 6/8 weeks usually.
My dad used to say the same about the six weeks as well.

I used to have them years ago, it’s a chemical straightening process and takes a really long time. Did you really have that Maudi, for so little money? Mine were expensive but kept my hair under control for months.

I’m loyal to my hairdresser, she’s a lovely person and does a great job. If I wasn’t satisfied I’d look for another one.

When I find a hairdresser who understands my fine curly hair, I stay with her/him as long as possible.

I've been going to the same one for years - she knows my hair, knows what I like. I do wish though that the hairdresser I use in Turkey lived here, as my hair never looked or felt so good as when he did it.

I had the same hairdresser for forty years, and then when the pandemic struck she got fed up of having to close the salon, and all the attendant rules and regs and paperwork so she retired. It left me high and dry for a while - I was very nervous about putting myself into someone else’s hands. Apart from once when we were on holiday, no one else had cut my hair in all that time. Then my niece recommended her hairdresser who I didn’t realise had a salon in our village. She is the same age as my DD (they went to the same school!) but my goodness, she really knows her stuff. I get the best cut now that I have ever had and feel as if I have struck gold. She’s not cheap, but it’s worth every penny.

I have had the same hairdresser for 41 years ? I know it’s that long as my eldest is now 42. He is a therapist to me - knows where the bodies are buried!!

I chop and change hairstyles but remain faithful to the same hairdresser. Every time I go I take a photo of what I'd like and every time she gets it bang on. So no I wouldn't change.

My husband cuts my hair now. I am faithful to him.

Where Iive in Wilmslow its £50 upwards for a cut and blow, I'm in Turkey at the moment just walked upstairs to this little hairdressers didn't know what the prices were, had a lovely wash, cut and Brazilian blow dry and it cost 100 Turkish Lira about £5.40, I was so surprised at how cheap it was I gave him 50 Lira tip he was thrilled.

I had the same hairdresser for years. After lockdown I used it as an opportunity to change. I still feel guilty.

As I have alopecia totalis, I have no choice! I go to a hair clinic for my system but would be devastated if they closed. They are wonderful.

I had the same hairdresser for years and then she gave up for a while so I went to another local salon, I just couldn't settle with them, I would say what I wanted and they wouldn't do it saying I looked better this way or that way. One day out shopping in the pouring rain I just walked into a small new hairdressers and I seem to have found someone who listens as well as contributes. Two friends have said they like my hair so I am pleased and will stick for now.

I’ve had a few over the years - I’ve found we all get in a rut if I stay with the same one too long. For the past couple of years I’ve been going to the one round the corner. I was just wondering if I dared moved again when she retired and was replaced by a youngish chatty guy who tells me lots of interesting things he shouldn’t then blames me because I’m too easy to confide in. He’s a pretty good cutter as well - I’ll be staying.

If they chop (too much or badly) - I change!

I’m a bit of a butterfly depending on location and how flush I’m feeling. I rotate between 3 salons in Malaga. One - The Polish girl does an amazing job of blonde highlights that don’t go brassy in the sun. Another Spanish lyoung girl with her own beautiful salon does a fabulous wash and blow at only €12 and she uses all Vidal Sassoon products! The third is up in Arroyo. She is a magician with the scissors. She’s a hoot. Scottish (used to have a big salon in Fife before emigrating to Spain). As you can see I rotate over their according to my needs!

Here? I can’t seem to settle. My colour needed doing before Christmas and I went to a salon near the hospital where I used to work. Back in the day, I used to nip over every Friday lunchtime for a wash and blow - so nice for the weekend and then the start of the working week. I’d never gone there for colour. She did a great job (she goes blonde herself and knows her trade) but I nearly drooped corklegged when I was charged £130!

I will go back occasionally at that price...

I still chuckle at when my dear dad used to say “the only difference between a good cut and a bad one is about six weeks”.

I have been going to the same hairdresser for the past 5 yrs she has moved salons twice in that time and I have had to track her down as she is the only one now that I trust to cut my hair,I only have about 1 inch trimmed every few months but you would be surprised how many hairdressers cannot cut my long hair straight across the back,my lady always gets it right first time.

I wouldn’t dare chop and change with mine!

I’ve been using mine for years, she comes to the house, cuts my hair in the garden if it’s nice which we did last summer even though she was allowed in the house. We have a good chat, she always does what I ask and is reasonably priced, but I do tip her well for the convenience.

I have brilliant hairdresser, been with her about five years, she loves colouring, I’m always up for it, some have been outrageously glorious, she has very good coffee always on the go and yummy biscuits, it’s a treat to see her!

I used to chop and change, in the vain hope of finding one I really liked. And I did, once, but of course that hairdresser left and moved area.

Now I just go to the closest one, but have to make sure it’s on one of the 2 days when the good cutter is there. The other (who owns it) is not nearly as good. And I can’t be the only one - when it’s just her, the place is very often empty.

TBH I do often wonder how she has kept going for many years but it’s recently occurred to me that it could be a money laundering thing for whatever her dh does. (Cynical, moi?).
