Think its about time to get out and about this Weekend

I have just spent an hour in the garden tidying up. The rhubarb is sprouting and needed a bit of TLC. The weather is a bit grey but not cold.

It’s really chilly here, I only gardened for an hour ☹️, now I’m trying to warm up under my heated throw and DDog (who clearly thinks it’s for her benefit)
I have someone coming Wednesday to see if they can help me out with the garden, I do hope he will!

The sun's out but it's too cold and windy here for gardening.
I have looked at the weeds when I've been out to feed the birds though.

Been out since 10.30 in the garden with breaks for coffee, lunch etc. just come in. Will do more tomorrow.

Pleasantly knackered?

Litter picking for me today. My neighbour has injured her knee so I am on my own with this today. Tomorrow will be gardening day. Such a contrast to last weekend.

Well, I have had a lovely afternoon.The weather was bright and sunny witha cold wind, so I wrapped myself up warmly and went into the front garden and cleared away all the detritus from the storm, twigs, leaves and small branches

Some of the wood I put in the kindling heap in the shed. the rest of it, with the leaves has been put in a big builder's sack to go the tip on Monday.

By the time I finishes the sun was getting big and orange and low and sending oblique shadows and sunlight through the trees lining the road we live in. My hands were warm, but my cheeks rosy from the cold and effort.

I am now back indoors and DH is making a nice cup of tea. Bliss!!

well done! Have a and a . I had a walk around this morning, lots of stuff sprouting, grass certainly needs a cut, plan on spending a couple of mornings in the garden next week, weather permitting.

Another Angus gran here! Do love a bridie but since OHs heart attack have had to avoid.
Love to burn off the calories with a good prune and tidy of garden. But too cold and windy yet to venture out. Will this weather ever end?
Can't complain with these poor folk in Ukraine losing their homes and running for their lives. What a world.

Ouch Josieann! It looks like the tree won. As it was sunny, I found plenty of urgent gardening to do (although it's a tip indoors). I'm off out with family tomorrow, while I can - as I'm very aware of my booster immunity being in decline .

We love Malham and have done the circuit. We are spending Easter in Skipton so may attempt it again then if my back holds up.

My lawn’s in a dreadful state, so I may take your lead and cut the grass Monica, as it would make such a difference. I need to dig out some montbretia as well, it has been left for a few years and I now have a solid clump of bulbs about three feet across which is going to be really hard work to get rid of. Serves me right, but it’s more bearable when the sun’s shining.

Would you like to have my squirrels Casdon? They dig up the montbretia corms and sit delicately peeling them with their teeth before devouring them, every single autumn.

I need to get out of bed quickly, its here all morning.

I went to Exeter with my neighbour yesterday, a perfect day. Lunch out first, then we went to the Moon exhibition in Exeter cathedral. The choir were practising, with the organ, and the whole thing was magnificent.

I’ve got squirrels too Espee, but the only thing they’ve eaten is my tulips in pots, which I had to net in the end. Unfortunately they haven’t developed a taste for montbretia, I wish they would as my back’s aching and I haven’t finished yet.

We walked our dog along the prom this morning. Beautiful sunshine but very bracing. I felt very virtuous with all that fresh air and exercise. The dog was glad to get bac to the car. ?

Back in the garden again to day. Raking leaves - and even cut the front lawn. I only came in because I was running out of steam.

Husband gave the lawns their first mowing today. He said he can't remember ever doing them thus early before. Lawns sounds grand. It isn't. We have a long garden which is in two sections, so two lawns. I showed willing by sweeping up leaves

we went to the garden centre and then our daughter came home for the afternoon and then we drank ales in the greenhouse and now we are going to watch a film happy Sunday
