Yes St Anthony is great.
Another assassination attempt on Donald Trump
It’s been a while so I will start us off…….whats for supper and why?
Yes St Anthony is great.
Glad they’ve turned up. A pair of mine went missing for weeks. They were in the pocket of my winter dressing gown.
Glad you found them,I was going to suggest under your bed or bedside cabinet. I've found mine there after reading in bed and not being careful about where I put them, I think I might have dozed off and knocked them off.
That’s great news AiryFlyingFairy. I’ll have to try St Anthony next time I mislay something. ?
Thanks for all your replies.
Lo and behold I have been reunited with the glasses! My friend found them in her car. She had already looked & didn't see them but had another search today and found them there. So pleased. They weren't cheap and I'd hardly even worn them.
I did pray to St. Anthony so I think it was him ?
I lost a diamond ear-ring and searched everywhere for it. Thought it had fallen out of my ear during yoga, so went back, searched the room. Checked everywhere I had heen, the library, asked friend to please check her car, retraced my steps that day - like looking for a needle in a haystack! No sign of it.
Then checked every room in the house, Hoovered each room, emptied and checked the dust container after every room. No sign of it. Was so upset as they were a gift from my recently late DH.
Claimed on the insurance, and they replaced it with a similar grade, size and style of ear-ring.
Then about 6 months later younger DGD was playing on the carpet and piped up "Grandma, there's an ear-ring down here."
Sure enough, there was my ear-ring, stuck between the skirting board and carpet! I informed the insurance company, as you should do, as really you should return the replaced object, but they told me to keep it as a spare. Only thing is, I am now too scared to wear the ear-rings, in case I lose one again!
I lost a pair of glasses and had to go to the optician to get them replaced. It was while undergoing the eye test that my optical discovered that I’d had a TIA and lost some vision in one eye - thank goodness I lost my glasses! After a very quick referral to the Stroke Clinic, my blood pressure meds have been changed, I’m on statins and also blood thinners. I’ve has a CT scan, mri and several eye tests so hopefully I won’t have another one.
Ironically, I was looking for my car keys which had slipped down the side of my seat when I found my missing glasses! They were hidden amongst the mechanism for sliding the car seat so I had not seen or felt then underneath the seat.
I lost one of my favourite earrings which were white gold with a small diamond I was very upset and couldn't think where I had lost it.
I was so grateful when after taking the car for a service the mechanic had found it in some recess and left it on the dashboard .,he said he finds all sorts of things in customers cars.
I have typed in small print my (French) telephone number on a narrow piece of paper, then cut the strip and sellotaped it to the inside of one of the arms on both my pairs of glasses. This is incase I leave them in a shop etc., also my friends don’t get muddle with mine … yet.
My neighbour and I often end up with each others' glasses.
I listened to her complain for weeks about the loss of her favourite pair, and how much she missed them, all while wearing them myself.
I constantly lose things, then as soon as I replace what ever it was the thing turns up! So annoying.
Try sending up a prayer to St Anthony. Strangely it seems to work. When we were on a cruise my DH couldn't find his bow tie and he turned the cabin upside down looking for it. He eventually gave up and went off in a huff. I did the prayer and lo and behold a few minutes later the door flap on the top of the wardrobe opened and out flew the tie! I couldn't believe it but it really happened.

It’s worth double checking you friends car. Glasses easily slip down the edges of seats and then getting out of the car can make them slip to almost inaccessible bits below the seat.
I lost my digital camera a few years ago and found it under my car seat. It had slipped out of my bag when I took the dog to kennels (serves me right for putting her in kennels….but we did redo the same holiday a few weeks later and, out of guilt, took her with us)…
Clutching at straws here but did you check the car park in case maybe they fell from your lap as you were leaving the car?
Well worth checking - I've done that. You expect to hear them clatter but they don't always. Also did it with a wallet once that was on my lap - Mr A wasn't happy. Fortunately it turned up.
I lose them all of the time, and if they're prescribed, "proper" ones, I seem to do it even quicker than usual.

I picked a pair up off the ground last week, no case, they looked like a gentlemens they were on the pavement just by a seat I put it on local Fb pages but no one has claimed them
If you were by the seaside give me a message !!! ?
I lost a pendant on a gold chain, a gift from my husband. I looked high and low for it. I emptied every drawer in the house but it wasn't to be found. I could remember when and where I last wore it and phoned my daughter to ask if I'd left it in her house. Finally, I had to admit to my husband that it was lost.
Anyway, a few days after telling my husband about it, I was looking in all the little pockets in a little backpack bag to make sure they were empty thinking that I would donate it to the charity shop, when in one pocket I found my pendant.
I then remembered putting it there when out at a park with the grandchildren.
I do hope you glasses turn up. They will probably be in the least likely place you could think of. They aren't in your fridge are they?
Clutching at straws here but did you check the car park in case maybe they fell from your lap as you were leaving the car? If it was an indoor car park it might be worth checking their office.
If it was an outdoor parking spot maybe check around there. I saw a pair of specs sitting on a low wall in a car park a few weeks ago. The finder must have left them there in the hope the owner would notice while retracing their steps. Good luck, I hope you find them.
Thanks.
I never thought of that. Yes they were in the case so worth a try.
Nothing to say really, except that I hope they turn up. Were they in a case? If so it should have that little piece of cloth inside with the optician's name - maybe give them a ring to see if someone's handed them in?
You might be able to make a claim on your house contents insurnce.
Treated myself to a new pair of spectacles only 2 weeks ago. I've lost them already.
A friend picked me up yesterday in her car. We went out for coffee. While we were chatting over coffee I noticed I couldn't find them in my bag so assumed must have left them at home. I've looked everywhere I can think of in the house. Friend didn't find them in her car. Phoned the coffee shop & they haven't found them either. I've looked outside. Even gone through the bin.
I don't know how I've been so careless. They weren't a cheapy pair either. I know this isn't a big deal in the great scheme of things but I'm fuming with myself. Anyone else done this?
