I know I dream but within seconds of waking, I forget what they were about.

I am having the maddest dreams. Anyone else?
(123 Posts)Last night I had left my handbag in a different part of town (I don't live in a town) and I had to drive to town and go through a series of corridors and doors that led to nowhere. My passenger was a girl I knew at school who I haven't seen for almost 30 years!
My handbag was located in a building I could see but couldn't get to. When I finally got near to it I found I had no shoes on and had to go outside in the rain in my socks. I could see a room full of shoes but knew I couldn't put them on.
I never did get to my handbag
what on earth was it all about? All the doors and corridors were painted red too!
I just wondered if anyone else was having weird dreams? I feel like mine are triggered by general anxiety surrounding firstly the pandemic and now instability surrounding world peace <dramatic>
I have always had vivid dreams and occasional nightmares where I sit bolt up right & scream my head off, I sometimes dream that I am about to die & wake up in a state of panic with my heart racing.
The toilet dream is also a regular one with me, I’m desperate, then when I finally find a toilet it’s filthy, full of moss or spiders webs and I daren’t go. I also dream my teeth are falling out, I try to push them back in place & desperately try to get to a dentist but can’t find one.
I have a recurrent dream where I go to my Grandmas house (she has been dead for over 30 years) she opens the door looking just as she did when I last saw her & asks me where the devil I’ve been all these years, my sister has the same dream.
Think a-lot of these dreams are linked to anxiety.
Grandma2213, I also dream I am walking or more often running about a foot off the ground, usually along the towpath of our local canal. It always seems so real that I am sure I could really do it when I wake up!
I have never had the handbag dream, but I frequently dream about my best friend for many years who I fell out with.
I’m always really happy to be with her again, but am always worried that she is just tolerating me.
I dream of finding a hidden rooms too.
Many years ago I dreamt I was driving with my son on a dusty winding road, took a wrong rd. backed into an unmade side road to turn round only to realise that this road wasn't finished, it was slopping back onto a shear drop and I couldn't stop the car, I remember thinking this is it, we are going to die now What does that mean?
I dreamt just the other day that I was getting married, had a plain dress on, then everyone came out with a beautiful dress, headdress, flowers....
When my children were young I dreamt often of losing them, searching for them everywhere. Now I dream of losing my little dog.
I have always had vivid dreams and have had most of the above but nothing about handbags. I thoroughly enjoy my night time adventures and some places only exist in my dreams. Sometimes I am fully aware I am dreaming for example if I am walking one foot above the ground, swimming without effort or falling slowly from a great height and landing gently on the ground. If I am naked I am not bothered because I have my youthful body and nobody seems to care anyway. Here is something I have not seen on here.
I am driving and come to steps or a very narrow footpath. Sometimes it is rough ground covered with rocks or roadworks with deep channels dug in and no way to get across. I pick up the car and carry it past all these obstacles.
I am driving a double decker bus from the top deck or sometimes it is a huge heavy goods vehicle which I have to try and park without anybody noticing. I do feel that I probably should not be doing this however.
I'll report back if I have a handbag dream tonight!
Monday night's dream was off the scale for weirdness. I dreamt I was staying in a B&B and the landlady was my aunt, she told me to come and say hello to uncle Vlad, Putin came flying through the door and started jumping on the furniture, he was totally insane, cackling and irrational. The alarm went off and woke me but the dream remained vivid. Think I need to stop watching news just before bed.
Yes. I had a dream about Prince Charles. It was very vivid and involved my cleaner turning up one morning and telling me that le Prince des Galles wanted to fish in our river! She’d let him into our garden and when I said how did she know what he wanted - she didn’t speak any English - she said he spoke good French! I went out to talk to him and we had a conversation about his Grandmother and her love of fly fishing. The whole dream was in French and I remember feeling so happy, as it was the first time I didn’t have to think hard about what I said (being asleep!) and had a glimpse of what life could be like when I was fluent in another language.
Have had mny scary dreams but cannot recollect ever having had one with any sound track...... although sometimes I have woken up sobbing but the words would not come out.
A friend told me that she knew she was imroving in learning French because she was now able to dream in the language
Anyone else have silent dreams or those in a foreeign language which they were trying to learn?
I've had vivid dreams all my life .
Sometimes I dread going to bed as they are so disturbing .
But they are just anxiety dreams
-nothing more.
Part of my problem is due to my restlessness at night .
I'm trying milk drinks .
Nothing really works .
I like my barmy dreams. The weirdest one was me being angry with Jamie Oliver. He had tiled my bathroom badly and in a horrible colour.

A dream I often used to have was that I could levitate. I would be somewhere, normally inside, and often in a crowd - and I would decide to make myself float upwards. All I had to do was concentrate my mind on levitating, and - lo and behold - I would gently rise off the floor, up to the ceiling, or as high as I wished to go. The more I concentrated on levitating, the higher I would go. When I wanted to descend, I thought about coming down - and I floated gently downwards. Occasionally, I would float around outside - or fly out of a high window. Sometimes my floating drew peoples’ attention; sometimes I seemed to be invisible. Nothing horrible ever happened, and the whole experience was very pleasant to recall when I woke up. Sadly, these floating dreams occur less frequently the older I get.
Yes, I have these dreams too. Exactly like you, I can control it for the most part. But once I'm back on solid ground, it is quite hard to get up there again! Sometimes I can but mostly not. I really will myself to go up again because I love it.
I had these dreams before drones were invented. Now look what drones can do! :-)
I dreamt last night someone came to the door and stabbed my husband with a huge knife and killed him. I ran and knocked someone's door and told them I needed to hide in case they came to kill me too.
First local news this morning was a man had been stabbed to death in Belfast.
Grany That made me laugh. You having a chat with the Queen.?
I keep waking up thinking there is someone ringing the doorbell. It's often at really silly times like 2 or 3am. I must hear it in my dreams coz there's never anyone there. Sometimes I know who is supposedly there as its been part of the dream.
My OH died at the beginning of the year . I’ve had some terrible dreams. The worst one was me giving birth ( terrible I’m itself at 70!) but what made it worse was his greedy step grandson - who has caused me all sorts of problems over the years - grasping the newborn and running off with it whilst I was still in the delivery table . Didn’t get back to sleep after that one!
I have a book of the top hundred dreams, but they’re never exactly right, a bit of one and a bit of another.
My recurring dream is that I am driving and the car brakes dont work, I am never afraid and the car has never crashed, but I would love to know what it means.
Recently I dreamt I was wandering around Buckingham Palace on my own and the Queen walked past, I panicked and tried to curtsey and say good morning your majesty, but it all went wrong and she just laughed at me and walked on, bit rude I thought!?
I had a funny dream last night, the queen she had her hair dyed black to look younger and was asking me about bees I said there are the honey bees that make honey and wasps that can sting. That all I knew about bees she listened that's all I remember ha.
In my 'Dream Book' it says
Toilets ;
Elimination of that which isn't needed in your life anymore,
let it go
I've had a fair share of toilet dreams.

My unknown rooms are often kitchens, the last one was more of a diner really, but also I often find bedrooms.
My properties range from farm cottages to vast estates, but they are always sadly neglected, and I seem to be doing things bit by bit, with little progress.
But I am always so happy to be there, I always love it.

Buildings (especially houses) represent our self.
Over the years of experience I’ve become quite an expert at dream analysis.
I used to have frequent dreams of finding a room in a house that I previously didn’t know was there.
It was usually full of baby animals (more often or not guinea pigs) that I should have been looking after.
I think that this means that their is a part of yourself that you have been neglecting.
I have dreams about finding a room in my house that I didn't know was there, usually a kitchen, sometimes a bathroom, maybe I should be cooking more or showering more often!
I have the loo dream. I am usually desperate and each toilet or cubicle I find is either broken, toilet bowl full and dirty, or no privacy or someone else will try to come in and usually dirty or no loo roll.
Never lost a handbag yet!
I often have vivid dreams too - being chased/hunted is a common one .
