Last night I had left my handbag in a different part of town (I don't live in a town) and I had to drive to town and go through a series of corridors and doors that led to nowhere. My passenger was a girl I knew at school who I haven't seen for almost 30 years!

My handbag was located in a building I could see but couldn't get to. When I finally got near to it I found I had no shoes on and had to go outside in the rain in my socks. I could see a room full of shoes but knew I couldn't put them on.

I never did get to my handbag

what on earth was it all about? All the doors and corridors were painted red too!

I just wondered if anyone else was having weird dreams? I feel like mine are triggered by general anxiety surrounding firstly the pandemic and now instability surrounding world peace <dramatic>

Exactly like you, anxiety & some panic with covid now with Ukraine. Though I’m doing a free online course CBT, and it really helps. My dream was last night that rockets were being fired across my home town of Portsmouth! This was because of seeing rockets fired on tv in Ukraine. Time now not to absorb myself in to too much news on this, I need to stay focused, positive and clear headed. Finding other positive ways helps me.

When being pregnant I dreamt I gave birth to a meat and potato pie!

Love this! grin

When I was around 8 or 9 years old, I started to have the same dream every night for about a year. My teddy bear had changed into one of the large pieces of meat you see hanging up in butchers shops, and it was chasing me. To try and escape I went onto a ship heading for Australia, but it followed me on there. It got so I was afraid to go to sleep at night.

Oh, the baby dreams! I don’t get them very often now thank goodness. I would either dream that I had a tiny, tiny baby, like a doll, but it could walk, talk, was toilet trained and could generally take care of itself or it would be a gigantic baby the size of an adult but totally helpless like a newborn and I could barely lift it up. Baffling!

I’ve always dreamt vividly, I can usually remember them and continue them afterwards if I get up for the toilet. Last night I was pregnant, searching for nipples on my body, very bizarre. MrJ rarely remembers his and thinks I’m a bit odd, so I’m glad I’m not the only one.

Yes I’ve had the floating dream, that then turned into a flying dream. Flying above lovely country side. One when it is sad to wake .

Also the tide coming in and washing away chunks of land.

The dream of all my teeth slowly crumbling away wasn’t very nice. That was a regular one at one point.

When being pregnant I dreamt I gave birth to a meat and potato pie!

A dream I often used to have was that I could levitate. I would be somewhere, normally inside, and often in a crowd - and I would decide to make myself float upwards. All I had to do was concentrate my mind on levitating, and - lo and behold - I would gently rise off the floor, up to the ceiling, or as high as I wished to go. The more I concentrated on levitating, the higher I would go. When I wanted to descend, I thought about coming down - and I floated gently downwards. Occasionally, I would float around outside - or fly out of a high window. Sometimes my floating drew peoples’ attention; sometimes I seemed to be invisible. Nothing horrible ever happened, and the whole experience was very pleasant to recall when I woke up. Sadly, these floating dreams occur less frequently the older I get.

I also have the naked/inappropriately dressed dream, and I often dream I’m pregnant, but never seem to have a baby.

Fanny we share dreams.
I often dream about finding another room, or rooms, or areas of garden I didn’t know were there.
I’ve moved into all kinds of properties in my dreams, they all have the unexpected rooms, they’re all shabby and need a lot of work, but I always absolutely love them, and am so happy.
Don’t get me started on the toilet dreams, I doubt I go a week without one of those.
Back to the original point, I dream a lot of odd dreams, last night I dreamed I opened a book and there was a timer counting down to the exact date I would be murdered, I was with my youngest granddaughter, we were snuggled in a sofa, when a deranged woman lunged at us with a big blanket which I assumed she was going to suffocate us with, I woke up massively relieved!

Hi. gulligranny. Just spotted your post! Next time you are lost in a store give me a holler and we can search for the loo mid-floors and get lost together.
Sweet dreams!

grannyrebel7 Tue 01-Mar-22 15:07:34

I've had those dreams where you're late for something but you just can't seem to get there. And then you discover you're naked! Weird! My DH said I was laughing in my sleep the other night. Wish I knew what that dream was about!

Gongoozler Tue 01-Mar-22 14:46:26

Yes ShazzaKanazza, been in those loos too, and the ones which are too high or too low. We obviously visit the same toilets!

ShazzaKanazza Tue 01-Mar-22 14:17:25

Gongoozler I have the toilet dream regularly. When I find a toilet they are usually blocked with rubbish and filthy or don’t have a door on.

FannyCornforth Tue 01-Mar-22 12:26:03

shock I’ve got a large lump behind my ear!

sodapop Tue 01-Mar-22 12:25:30

I have strange dreams as well, I have been known to have an argument with my husband because of something he did in my dream grin

JaneJudge Tue 01-Mar-22 12:24:10

PS I haven't had a medication change @) My one gland feels swollen though but I don't feel ill!

JaneJudge Tue 01-Mar-22 12:11:50

Some of these are quite funny smile I wonder what makes us dream such weird things. Sometimes they are like movies?

I also have the rising sea level dreams and getting trapped. Sometimes in a car, sometimes on foot and I am always with someone else that I have to save.

The toilet dreams and obscure tightening rooms and passageways are horrible too.

SueDonim Tue 01-Mar-22 11:42:50

I have always had weird dreams. My Dh had to wake me up last night I was havering in my sleep so much! I dreamt I went to the hospital about an eye problem (I did actually have to do that on Sunday) and instead of examining my eye they irrigated my tonsils, whatever that means. ?

tanith Tue 01-Mar-22 11:42:47

I dreamt I’ve lost my car, it’s black and very shiny (mine isn’t it’s grey and grubby) and I’m searching in an underground car park but it’s under a house in which lives The Duke of Edinburgh we meet in a stairwell and he tells there are loads of black cars in his garage an how the hell did get in? the end.

Oh my what’s that all about?

SporeRB Tue 01-Mar-22 11:40:40

Many years ago, I had a dream. In my dream, I was in a house in a build up area and I was looking for my twin sister but I could not find her.
When I looked outside the window, I saw a military helicopter spraying something in the air to diffuse the air. A woman came down the staircase, she was wearing a uniform and she told me she was working as a nurse.
When I went out the front door of the house, I saw a Russian soldier guarding the house, he was wearing the ceremonial army uniform complete with a winter fur hat.

I attributed this dream to reading too much about WW3.

I also have a number of dreams about water pouring into our house but this is because I always seem to deal with problem of leaks in our house

FannyCornforth Tue 01-Mar-22 11:37:04

farview good heavens. How scary for you

farview Tue 01-Mar-22 11:25:25

Very frequent, vivid dreams here also..never used to have them....12 days ago during a dream...where I was knelt up on a steep, snowy slope trying to pull my granddaughter back from falling....I suddenly woke up...and was actually in the kneeling position on the edge of my bed...and I fell of backwards, hit the floor with back and shoulder but also really cracked the top of my head on bedside cabinet....its still very very sore/tender...now feeling anxious about dreams...?

Witzend Tue 01-Mar-22 11:21:15

I have weird ones all the time, but also several recurrent ones.
One is about a large house I’ve never seen or been to, but I know it intimately.

Second, a real nightmare - I have a German lit exam imminent and not only have I not read any of the books, I don’t even know what they are.

Third, it’s about 4 pm on Christmas Eve and I’ve forgotten to buy any presents, a tree, or anything.

Fourth (though I’ve not had this for ages) people have come for dinner, but it’s 11 pm and the potatoes still aren’t cooked! ?

henetha Tue 01-Mar-22 11:14:19

I think I am, FannyCornforth. As tormented as you, I mean.
I've been plagued by bad dreams all my life. I'm not sure what it says about us! smile
