Should Russia be allowed to take part in the Paralympics?

Exactly that really. They were allowed to take part with a positive drug test, but this is much more serious.

No.

No! And they shouldn’t be allowed to compete in Wimbledon either. Heard on the news this morning that Russians will be allowed to compete at Wimbledon. Britain and the Wimbledon tennis association should be ashamed of itself.

If the other players say they will not compete against Russian or Belarusian opponents (as has happened with the Paralympics) then Wimbledon would reconsider. In light of the climbdown by the Paralympic committee there's still time for pressure to be exerted.

No and I'm glad they finally made that decision. Putin causing pain and suffering on innocent people, causing injuries that will affect these poor people for maybe the rest of their lives. He's scum.

Nannapat1 Thu 03-Mar-22 11:01:00

No!

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 03-Mar-22 10:53:28

Definitely not! Unless it's shooting and the target is Putin!!!

LuckyFour Thu 03-Mar-22 10:50:11

NO, definitely not.

Nannina Thu 03-Mar-22 10:49:48

Thank goodness the powers that be have been dragged reluctantly into making the right decision at the last minute and Russia will now not take part

NO!!!!

At last - they listened!

No. It's unfortunate for the athletes, but this is too serious now to consider individuals. Russia needs to know how the whole world feels.... not that Putin seem to care.

BlueBalou Thu 03-Mar-22 10:20:24

Whoever even considered they should needs a head wobble.
Thank goodness that decision has been reversed, ‘inclusivity’ my a#@*.

timetogo2016 Thu 03-Mar-22 10:16:35

NO !

toscalily Thu 03-Mar-22 10:00:01

Finally, the right decision.

merlotgran Thu 03-Mar-22 09:31:20

Good decision.

The inclusivity argument was a daft one because able bodied athletes wouldn’t be able to hide behind it.

Germanshepherdsmum Thu 03-Mar-22 09:23:57

Absolutely the right thing to do, though I’m sure we all sympathise with the athletes. Should serve to turn even more Russians against Putin.

sodapop Thu 03-Mar-22 08:57:58

Definitely the right thing to do finally.

Good news, and the only right thing to do.
It may be sad for the athletes but it hardly compares to the horrors suffered by Ukraine.

Quite right.

The decision had been made to ban Russia and Belarus athletes.
