Exactly that really. They were allowed to take part with a positive drug test, but this is much more serious.

Short answer….NO!

Yammy Wed 02-Mar-22 17:09:34

No, I feel sorry for the athletes but it just gives Putin another win situation.

Oldbat1 Wed 02-Mar-22 17:13:03

No! Seemingly Putin is a great follower of sport so all the more reason not to allow participation. I hope they do a U turn over the bad decision to allow this.

Greyduster Wed 02-Mar-22 17:16:05

No. It’s not enough to say “but they won’t be included in the medals tables”.

J52 Wed 02-Mar-22 17:20:16

No. Disappointing for the athletes, but maybe other countries should boycott the games.
I think I read that there were legal reasons for not banning Russia, not sue though.

Nope.. Shame but No

GrannyGravy13 Wed 02-Mar-22 17:25:26

I'm very sorry for the athletes, but definitely no.

So unfair on the athletes but the games should be boycotted if
Russia is allowed to take part.

M0nica Wed 02-Mar-22 18:06:33

NO

Whitewavemark2 Wed 02-Mar-22 18:09:42

Well they are.

So I think every athlete should refuse to take part if it means competing against a Russian.

SueDonim Wed 02-Mar-22 18:11:53

No.

Yes, I agree.

The Russian Paralympians may be blameless but someone has to make a stand if the Paralympic Committee has failed to uphold any moral values.

Germanshepherdsmum Wed 02-Mar-22 18:14:08

No. I feel sorry for the athletes, but a message has to be sent to Putin that he has turned his country into a pariah state regardless of how many of the people actually disagree with his policies.

seacliff Wed 02-Mar-22 18:16:00

NO!

Rosie51 Wed 02-Mar-22 18:19:46

Agree, no they shouldn't. Feel sad for the athletes but GSM has phrased it perfectly but a message has to be sent to Putin that he has turned his country into a pariah state

Rosie51 Wed 02-Mar-22 18:23:01

If Russia is taking part I'd hope the UK and other countries would boycott the games. Unfortunately I don't see that happening. There will be cries of 'it's sport not politics'

Redhead56 Wed 02-Mar-22 18:23:23

NO sport it's very low down in priorities now. They should not be included in anything whatsoever.

GreyKnitter Wed 02-Mar-22 18:25:53

Def not!

nadateturbe Wed 02-Mar-22 18:29:02

No!!

mokryna Wed 02-Mar-22 18:51:17

No, but would the athletes understand why. No again. They have been brainwashed. They will not be allowed to speak out when they return as their families will be threatened.

I can speak of my time working in China. The people I worked with would not watch my tv news programs nor listen to how we had choice of candidates at an election. While I was there, there floods with some people not surviving, I was told that they had already been warned that the foreigners would tell lies to unbalance the government.

netflixfan Wed 02-Mar-22 18:54:02

No. Just because they have difficulties does not mean that they don’t support Putin.

mumofmadboys Wed 02-Mar-22 19:01:52

Definitely not!
