It is a beautiful sunny but very cold morning in Oxfordshire. I love this sort of weather, walking with the dog over the fields is calling me but I have a zoom meeting in...3mins, so must dash.
Hope you all find the sunshine today.

Good morning to you all.

Both myself and my DH had Covid last week which we caught in Marlborough on the Friday before after visiting a restaurant for lunch there which was only the 4th time we’d eaten out since the start of the pandemic. We’ve been so careful too. Neither of us were particularly poorly with only negligible cold symptoms. It was mainly muscle and joint pains, headache and fatigue. I was far more ill after the Moderna booster and from catching RSV in January. It was a relief it was mild as DH is asthmatic and has had an ongoing cough for years. As of yesterday we both tested negative so looking forward to seeing youngest GC later this week.

It is always lovely to see pics posted especially of GC. Glad you were fairly well on the day of your DS’s wedding, Marydoll and everyone had a lovely day. Dollie looked so sweet. I hope Iris continues to make fast progress GM. She is so brave.

Alsolutely heartbroken for the Ukrainians involved in this terrible war which the madman in the Kremlin has unleashed and which will affect us all. We were thinking of booking a holiday but somehow it seems so trivial to do so. Like so many others I feel in a state of constant anxiety for the future of the world.

Any spring bulbs are flowering or soon will be. I shall be so glad for better weather to arrive. This winter has seemed interminable. We are going to have our living room completely overhauled this year but unsure whether to go for a proper wood floor or Karndean. No pets but look after GC so probably the latter.

Thinking of all those who are poorly or have close relatives and friends who are. Have the best day you can.

Good morning all from sunny but very chilly Harrogate
Good to hear your DH has managed some sleep GrandMattie still hoping he finds relief.
Hope your reunion goes as planned Ashcombe
Also hoping your SIL has had his operation Harrigran
Today I’m hoping for a trip to Ripon for a change of scenery and for DH to pick up his lawnmower and garden tools from being sharpened
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a bright sunny start to the day. We arrived home last night after a good easy journey from Cambridge and its been lovely seeing everyone there - I warned them I’d be back again soon!
Today we’ve had a last minute request to do the school run as DD2 needs to start work early. Then I’ll be doing my Fitsteps dance class and catching up with the ladies afterwards with a coffee
I’d best get a move on so will read all the posts later!
Take care all whatever the day brings ?

Gingster Tue 08-Mar-22 07:39:21

Good morning all and it’s bright but cold here in Essex.

Busy day today - taking DGD to school, dropping Dd to an appointment, on to PlayReading with U3A , coffee and a bun with a pal and onto Bridge Club. . Poor Dh will have no car but he and little pooch will have a nice walk. He’ll enjoy his day, doing exactly what he wants. ?.

Ash I do hope Olddudders has a good journey.

Enjoy the sunshine Urms and Grandmadinosaur. ?.

My friends husband is home from hospital. The had an infection which caused his collapse. They quickly sorted him and he is more comfortable and pleased to be home. ?.

Hoping you all have a good day. ???

Good morning Mick, morning all from dry and bright South Lanarkshire.

Thanks for the good wishes for my DS. D out L is still negative, it’s just an extra worry as covid can be much more serious in the third trimester.

That sounds like a lovely catch up gagagran.

Enjoy the Spanish sun Urms and hopefully Grandmadinosaur will see some of it too.

My word Mattie, I could do with half your energy. Best wishes to your DH for this afternoon and to yours Ash for a hiccup free journey back to you.

I’m having a houseworking day, too much has been neglected recently.

Have the best day possible everyone. ??

Morning all from a frosty West Oxfordshire. My car is frozen and I hope it defrosts by 10 am. I am driving to Oxford to get the train to London. I am meeting son number 2 for lunch and then we’re going to the National Gallery. We are looking forward to seeing the Blue Boy painting.

Georgesgran Tue 08-Mar-22 07:11:53

Hope GM’s appointment with her DH brings some answers. I always attended with my DH to take notes and ask questions.

ShazzaKanazza Tue 08-Mar-22 07:09:45

Grandmadinosaur enjoy a lovely first full day in Palma??

Georgesgran Tue 08-Mar-22 07:08:35

Good morning from Dirham. It’s a bit breezy and cold.
Hoping Harris SIL has had his operation by now.
Double coffee day today - both locally, but different venues. At home, I must finish off an email and get to grips with my bank statement.
Have a good day.

ShazzaKanazza Tue 08-Mar-22 07:05:59

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a bright Hull another lovely day forecast.
Hope DHs appointment goes well today grandMattie. I’m imagining myself in Malaga Urmstongran. Enjoy your reunion Ashcombe.
Today is fairly quiet. I’ll do a zoom Pilates this morning and need to do some cleaning up later. I’ll see what the day brings with no little ones to pick up from school.
Tired today after a night of dreaming and checking phone incase I’d missed a message from SIL about DDs overdue baby.
Have a lovely day everyone hope Tuesday moments of joy ?.

Beechnut Tue 08-Mar-22 07:00:24

Good Morning from a cold and dry Severnside. I’m not surprise how cold it is after a chilly day yesterday. Having the sunshine was welcome though and got my washing dry on the line.

Off to have a swim today and homework. Nothing much else on.

I hope there aren’t too many worries today for everyone ???

Gagagran Tue 08-Mar-22 07:00:11

Good Morning everyone from a clear skyed and bright but cold south coast. 3.5c.

We had a joyful birthday brunch meet up with DD and DGD yesterday and I was smiling all day as a result. DGD got the train back to London and university afterwards and DD went to get some more kitchen bits she needs for her flat. Completion on Wednesday so she is picking up the keys then and moving her stuff in on Friday.

You will be in my thoughts today, Mattie and at least you should know what the plan is for DH's treatment. Good idea to go with him to the appointment and it might even be an idea to take notes?

Another reunion to enjoy Ash! I am very impressed by how you both make it work so well. I always think of Celia Johnson when I read your posts about Olddudders return. Not sure why as your relationship is nothing like a brief encounter!

Good wishes to all who are struggling with health issues, worries or anxiety. I think the shadow of the dreadful situation in Ukraine is affecting many of us.

Take care and have the best day you can everybody. sunshine

Grandmadinosaur Tue 08-Mar-22 06:53:51

Good morning from Palma in Mallorca. I can’t see what the weather is like as our room is enclosed overlooking a courtyard. I think the forecast was showers.
Last night we had the most amazing tapas. I’m still full from that but breakfast times are booked and we are on the early one today but got the later one for the rest of our stay.
Had a wander around yesterday and it seems pretty quiet even for March. Been here before this time of year and it was busier. Think might have a trip out on a bus somewhere today and then this evening DH will be watching football ?
Have a lovely reunion Ash
Take care everyone.

BlueSapphire Tue 08-Mar-22 06:50:22

Good morning everyone from a cold and frosty Northampton, -1°C here today. Up early as I need to be at the surgery for 8am. There is a bus at 7.40 which should get me there on time. If it's late I shall come home and join the interminable phone queue.

Pleased with the cleaning of my suite yesterday, it smells lovely and looks brighter. The cats were not happy with being out in the summerhouse for the morning; when I rescued them at lunchtime they hissed and growled at me, but seemed to quickly forget their 'ordeal' and were all over me in the evening wanting their treats!

Hoping to do a health walk this afternoon, then coffee and a chat in the cafe afterwards. No other plans for today.

An exciting day for you Ash, wishing you a happy reunion! And very envious of you in Malaga, Urms, would join your LWW like a shot!

Wishing all a good Tuesday.

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 08-Mar-22 06:45:00

Good morning Michael from a frosty Oxfordshire it’s -2 this morning, not very Spring like.
Just the hairdresser this morning, so much for growing old gracefully, full head of colour with foils, so I’m not going to be grey haired any time soon. I keep saying I’m going to stop, but hey ho.
Apart from that just a tidy up today and ironing.
So many GNers with family health problems, I hope things get sorted very soon.
Have a good day everyone.

Urmstongran Tue 08-Mar-22 06:36:24

grandMattie your energy puts me to shame!
I hope today’s appointment goes well for your man. x

Another reunion Ashcombe? Wonderful for you both!
? honeymoon house again.

grandMattie Tue 08-Mar-22 06:20:50

Good morning from an unexpectedly light E Kent. The apricot sky and dawning sun fooled me into thinking it was after 7a.m.! Panicked, I rushed around before looking at the clock. ?
I’m so happy for you both, Ash, you must be so excited to see olddudders. It is cold here too, bare 2C but for a chance, there is no wind - yet.
DH is still in a lot of pain, but managed both some sleep at night and a nap in the afternoon. We are seeing the consultant after an early lunch. I’m insisting on being there.
I made some Nutella brownies and a coffee and walnut traybake for WI this evening. I’m doing the teas.
Tai chi this morning, Zoom with Dh’s old school friends, who we are supposed to be meeting in April, assuming he’s well enough. It’s shame if we miss this reunion as well as the last one took place the week of Philip’s funeral.
Very busy all day. Hope I’m not totally speechless with exhaustion by tonight!
Take care my dears, have a gentle day. Carpe diem.m???❤️☀️☀️????

Urmstongran Tue 08-Mar-22 06:15:02

Good morning Mick and all to follow from Malaga where it’s 7am here (obv) but still pitch. I slept 8 hours of uninterrupted ? and am awake feeling so refreshed! Maybe no alcohol yesterday helped - probably! I just looked out of the blinds and can see the twinkling lights of a cruise ship on the horizon heading towards my right so obviously on its way down to Gibraltar I expect, then Portugal. Nice to see holidays up & running again!

Tuesday = LWW day already again, woohoo! ?? Our Bolton were arriving here last night so it’ll be lovely having an extra lady holidaymaker join us today at our usual bar. Goodness we all get on so well and have some laughs (probably assisted by relaxing with G&T’s and wine!).

I’ve got a W/b appointment first at 1pm. I need my roots doing. I can’t decide whether to get them done here next Tuesday or wait till I go home to have them done? It’ll be cheaper out here for sure but I’ve not had Laura do them before. Decisions, decisions!

Enjoy Tuesday all who can.
Ps thanks for the cranberry juice tip Grandmabatty I swerved a UTI after all. Hope your husband had a good day back in work after his op Scentia with you as the foreman!
?

Ashcombe Tue 08-Mar-22 06:07:13

Good morning from a chilly Torbay where we still have some windy conditions. Yesterday was bitterly cold as a result!

I managed to complete my Lidl shop but packed my bags at the back of the store rather than risk being blown over next to the car boot! DH, olddudders, is travelling over to the UK today via €* then by train to here. ?Luckily, the underground trains appear to be back to normal. We have been apart for two months but Zoom most days, unless one of us is too busy.

Perhaps your DS and D out Law will have a mild dose of Covid, baubles, and my apologies for confusing you with another contributor yesterday morning. Early morning brain fog! I hope you’ve had reassuring news of your friend's DH by now, Gingster. Thinking about harrigran and hoping your SiL has had his operation by now. Pleased to hear Scentia’s DH felt well enough to try being at work. How is your DH, grandMattie?

I hope today gives us all some relief from worries. Special thoughts of Ukraine. ??????
