Love reading all your posts, makes me feel connected. Enjoy the rest of you day x
Good morning Mick and everyone from greyish but bright Carlisle.
Not much on today, I've done a bit of cleaning and started a new book. I'm pacing myself carefully this week as I've had a problem ear making me a bit dizzy and nauseous and aggravating my tinnitus. I've tried to ignore it but it's not easy. I keep hoping it will go away, it usually doesn't last long but this is. I get totally frustrated by enforced inactivity.
Still, it's minor stuff compared with what others are suffering, I'm especially thinking of your DH grandMattie and you Marydoll.
And wishing you all the best possible day with a bit of
please.
Good morning Mick and everybody. Light cloud in my corner of Lancashire this morning, currently 7°C.
Glad your DH has arrived safe and sound Ashcombe.
Glad your SiL is on the mend Harrigran.
Miss Marydoll you must rest today! I know it’s easy to overdo things when you’re being swept along on a high, but there is always a price to pay.
I guess the NHS are starting to catch up, I now have 4 telephone appointments booked between now and September! They are all from ‘General Surgery’ and all say ‘nurse led team’ so I guess it’s related to the colectomy. I’ve already been discharged regarding the parathyroid surgery. As it will be 5 years in October since the bowel cancer surgery I’m hoping I will be discharged once that date has passed.
I &didn’t sleep well, my back is troubling me. Consequently not much planned for today, a little sewing and usual physio exercise.
Wishing you all the best possible day. May all those with worries find some comfort and all who are under the weather find some relief. ?
Good morning from Dunblane greybut dry though expecting rain soon. Lovely drive to Loch Leven Larder yesterday had lunch followed by a walk around part of the loch. Lovely day but a biting cold wind, fairly blew the cobwebs away. It is about an hour drive away from us but with the price of petrol rising so much maybe not be going a frequent destination! Passed a couple of garages where petrol was £1.669 a litre!
Good morning from a cloudy W Kent, great shame as we were hoping to go to Great Comp garden for a wander and a cake, well it will keep for a better morning. Frustration yesterday as Hermes driver didn't come to collect a parcel, we were in, they say on line we weren't, but the modern technology on our phones shows no one knocked all day! Oh dear.
Very best wishes to all those who are dealing with life's difficult problems.
Good Morning from the Scottish Borders where there is a brisk March wind.
I have been moving heavy compost to the place where I, with help, will be creating a new border. Exciting.
I was at the Scottish National Gallery yesterday enjoying some of my favourites Ladyleftfieldlover though Canova's The three graces are at their other home, the V&A in London, so were missed.
I also watched my DGC playing their instruments at the Edinburgh Competition Music festival What a treat that was and DGS won a gold medal.. A most cultured day.
Back to gardening and worrying about my lack of a kitchen.
I am sorry Marydoll that you are suffering again. Take care of yourself and rest, rest, rest.
Harrigran and grandMattie and all with worries. Thinking of you all.
Oh bad luck Pittcity
pittcity oh dear, hope you aren’t feeling too poorly.
Good morning Mick and all from a sunny northwest coast.
I’m overtired today as have been gadding about too much for my obviously delicate constitution ?and have decided not to go to the usual weekly lunchtime recital by bus followed by nursing home visit, but just do the visit as that’s more important. Tired myself out yesterday by singing at the music club, then trying out a route for a pick up topped up by stupidly coming home and practising new songs half the night.
Going on a trip to the Lakes tomorrow so will prepare for that too.
Thoughts to grandMattie, a welcome back to Blighty for Olddudders and thoughts to anyone with worries.
Morning all from a bright and blue-skied Oxfordshire. I am off to the place where I volunteer this morning to sign up for the next season. It has been closed for the last few years for refurbishment so it will be good to be back. I was in London yesterday at the National Gallery, looking at the Blue Boy, which is a beautiful painting. I now have admin to catch up on before OH and I go to a meeting of our Local History Society this evening. Whatever though, it looks a beautiful day.
I thought I'd got away with it too Oops, but no.?
Good morning from a weak sun and chilly Oxfordshire, I’ve overslept, which is unusual.
Had to cancel the hairdresser yesterday as MrOops has tested
+ve , not surprising after the GCs got Covid after being with us 10 days ago, he says it’s like heavy flu, very achy, sneezy and a sore throat, head ache.
Anyway, so far I’m -ve , fingers crossed it stays that way.
So a grocery delivery and that’s it. Still too cold for me to do any gardening. Good washing and drying weather though.
Haven’t had the chance yet to read through, so I’ll get a coffee and have a read.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Hope you both get through it quickly Pittcity. Best wishes.
Good morning from cloudy Colchester. The weather is of little consequence as I have caught C19 from DH. A positive lft for us both yesterday.
He is feeling much better. I have a razor blade throat and a headache. A couple of years ago I'd dismiss it as a cold.
A boring week of pottering and snoozing ahead.
Love to all ?x
Good morning from Durham. It’s a bit dull and breezy here. A day to myself today - could do a bit of housework and admin, but should visit my friend who had the mini stroke. She’s struggling to get her head around it.
Tonight DD2’s dogs come here as she’s at work tomorrow. It’s a toss up whether I collect them or she brings them here.
Best wishes to GM and her DH - one thing after another, as well as Marydoll and all others with fears and worries.
Have a good day,
Gosh I’m late this morning....I seem to be catching an extra hour of beauty sleep these days which I’m sure I need ....?
Lovely to read of Old Dudders return Ash - make the most of him....? especially if it’s a fleeting visit!
Delighted with Miss Marydoll wedding photos and that charming hat...you certainly carried it off with the whole coordinated outfit x
NannyJan I’m another looking forward to some sunshine next week - Sharm el Sheik for us in a belated Coral wedding celebration ?. COVID delayed this from May 2020 and I’ve postponed twice with fingers crossed ? that MrPG would survive his little health hiccups....!
Have a good day all who can and I’ll settle in now with my chamberpot ☕️ to read about your bizzinesses...x
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning everyone from a grey but milder Northampton. I have some washing in the machine so shall hang it out today, as I did with the bedding yesterday. Nice not to have to use the tumble dryer.
Have not long taken my alendronic tablet, so still waiting to have my mug of tea, hate Wednesdays! Not much to do this morning, just a bit of pottering, but I was like a whirlwind yesterday, changing the bed and having a good clean upstairs.
Off to my Wednesday afternoon cafe today; shall take my knitting and make a start on the cardigan I have promised to make for a friend. No cooking today, as I have got a chicken paprika out of the freezer, just some veg to do to go with it.
Hope everyone has the best day they can.
Good morning from a sunny NE ?
Yesterday was a day of little jobs, hoovered through upstairs and washed the bathroom floors.
Spent a while updating the family about SIL. He is still in a lot of pain but has been out of bed.
DS coming today and he will take me shopping, must remember to collect prescription too.
Have a good day all.
Good morning from a sunny Staffs
Awaiting morning FT from DH who is still in hospital receiving IV antibiotics. He’s definitely looking better, no temperature spikes, eating better and drinking plenty. Catheter removal today. . .
Took some items to local collection point yesterday-it was very busy. They’ve already sent 5 vans to Poland; another one goes Friday. There was a steady stream of folk arriving with provisions.
Morning from S Lanarkshire where it has to be a little milder than of late?. I spent yesterday afternoon with my cousin, it was her DH’s second anniversary and we had lots of reminiscing and some good laughs so I’m so glad I went. She was very distracted although trying hard to be as positive as she could.
Youngest DGS (6) had a major haircut yesterday and was very upset at the hairdresser’s, ‘real tears’ evidently and the girl ended up just tidying it rather than completing the new shaping. Underneath he is a very different boy from his confident appearance, I do worry for him a bit.
Exercise class and coffee meet up today which I missed last week and am looking forward to. Church first, remembering all who need it, have a good day everyone ???
Good morning from a cloudy Black Country.
Had a lovely morning with a friend yesterday. Walk around the park after a late breakfast of Eggs Benedict.
Only plans today are to start sorting out clothes ready for our trip to Lanzarote next week. A bit anxious, as we have not flown since early March 2020! Also, the health form you have to fill in for Spain. In the drop down box for Canaries, it doesn't give the option to select Puerto del Carmen, the resort we are staying in! Hopefully it will all turn out ok.
Sorry to hear your DH is still in pain grandMattie as it can be very wearing and debilitating when it is constant.
Enjoy your time together Ashcombe
Have a lovely day everyone
Good morning Mick and all from a very windy Glasgow.
GM, I'm sorry to hear that there is not yet a solution for MrGM's pain. It is such a disappointment, when you have a fruitless appointment. Please, also be kind to yourself. ?
DH is picking up his new car today, but I'm not sure if I will accompany him, as I had a bit of a heart scare yesterday. I got a terrible fright, it ages since I had an episode like that and I had been lulled into a false sense of security. It has left me totally wiped out, to say the least.
It's pretty obvious that I have overdone things, due to the euphoria of the wedding. I am a fool and no longer as indestructable as I previously perceived!!!!
Last week, I was requested by letter, to organise a physio appointment for my hip. Trying to make an appointment for the last week, has got me absolutely nowhere, but if I don't do it by tomorrow, I will be taken off the list! ?
The NHS letters are coming thick and fast! Another one from the sheilding folk arrived yesterday, advising me that I may need yet another booster, (my fifth), to continue to wear a mask, when compulsory mask wearing restrictions are lifted, to continue to test ( testing will remain free of charge in Scotland) and basically, that the pandemic is not over yet!
I felt quite low, after reading it!!
For anyone meeting up with friends and family, enjoy! For all in the sick bay, as always I offer my prayers and best wishes. Baubles, I pray that your DIL will be ok. It was good to see Auntieflo posting yesterday, another who is in my prayers, along with Soop.
Take care all and enjoy your day.
Good morning all. Lovely to read these posts and hope all doing ok. I’ve been back to doctors with reoccurring hearing loss since December and various ear infections now to be told its perforated ear. So still can’t hear very well and trying to hold down a job that I can’t hear the children very well. Never mind it’s chilly here in the NE. So will get up now and get ready for work. Have a good day all.
“Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day ..” ? ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga where the sun’s up and the Mediterranean is a sparkling aquamarine blue. I need to be down there for a walk along the paseo as it’s the loveliest day weather wise we’ve had so far. The seagulls are circling in the sky above with their cries - the sound does remind me I’m at the seaside and the little green chattering parakeets sound joyous in the palm trees! A day to count my blessings.
I can’t believe we’ve been here 10 days already. We will definitely have lunch down on the marina, it would be rude not to really.
Good to hear olddudders is with you once more Ashcombe. A case of kabsence makes the heart grow fonder’? A steep hill to climb grandMattie sadly. No quick fix that must be hard for both of you to bear. You’ll be rattling around your big house now GG13 but sit and enjoy that solitude to recharge your batteries. Hope your little grandson enjoys his inter school football - it’s a big milestone!
Enjoy the day all those who can. x
