Tracked packages via Royal Mail - March 2022

I had a parcel coming from the USA. I was not in and had a card from Parcelforce saying to go to my local Post Office to collect it. I had to take either my driver's licence or, a household bill with my name and address on it to retrieve my parcel. It was all straightforward enough, I just had a form to sign, that was it. Having said this, on a previous occasion, it was the sorting office I'd to collect from.

I agree with Boz Royal Mail are very good, I’d much rather have to get my parcel re-delivered or even have to go and pick it up than not get it at all.
Hermes dump parcels anywhere, and take no responsibility if parcel goes missing. I’ve had photos of the grass outside my block as being “proof of delivery”.
To be fair, I realise I’m maligning the careful drivers, and I know that they have to work very long hours to make a decent wage.

I do think, if possible it is a good idea to have your stuff sent to a pick-up point where you can collect at your leisure. But not all traders offer this.
We live at a difficult rural address and are gated. Most of the time we get the couriers deliver but Hermes, for one, will not come to our door if gates are locked - despite being given the code. Royal Mail is very good.
