Been to New York! I've always wanted to go to the place my paternal granny was born, Brooklyn. She told me endless stories about growing up there in the 1900s and twice I was booked to go and twice something happened to stop me. Feel I shall never go now.

Oh do try, New York is so interesting. Don't stop just with Brooklyn though I understand that would be your primary interest. All the boroughs are so different. And if you do go, take the ferry not to Staten Island, but the one that takes you to Governor's Island, the seemingly little known gem in New York harbour.

Drunk a cup of coffee. The smell of it makes me heave. Had a sip but just tastes horrible and bitter to me .

I will be 70 on Easter Monday (silly day as there will be NO post!) and I am very proud to say

Too old to learn an instrument? An 82 year old lady joined the beginners' class at our local brass band, and is learning to play the cornet. She'll never be much good, but she's having a great time trying!
