Good morning all from the Black country, frost overnight but looks like we are in for a sunny day very welcome after yesterday's full on day of rain.
Shopping today just need to decide which supermarket to go to. We have all the main ones within a short distance so like to vary my choice.
Best wishes anyone celebrating, safe travels those on journeys and virtual hugs where needed. May you all enjoy your Thursday and may you all find some ?.

Chrissie hope the video call with your DD goes well. It’s good you can be there holding her hand during it.

Ashcombe sorry you got your positive test but hope the headache and sore throat you’ve already got won’t get worse. Fingers crossed you recover quickly. LFT tests don’t work that well when people have symptoms and often give false negatives.

Good morning Mick, morning all from sunny South Lanarkshire.

☘️ Happy St Patrick’s Day ☘️

My Grandma used to send bunches of shamrock for us to wear after we moved over here Marydoll, it always made me cry as I missed them so much.

I had lunch with a close friend yesterday who dropped a bit of a bombshell which has left me feeling sad. I’m still processing it. Nothing dreadful, no one is ill thankfully, just that they are move hundreds of miles away.

No childminding for me today as the little ones have covid, their parents are feeling a good bit better in fact DS is returning to work today.

I hope your symptoms stay mild Ashcombe.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day. ☘️

Good Morning everyone from a clear and sunny south coast. Chilly start though - it was 0.5c at 6am. We are promised a few nice sunny days now which will be lovely after the apocalyptic, orange skies we had yesterday. The car looked as if it had measles. Heavy rain followed later and for most of the day but I am unsure if it washed away the Saharan sand.

We are going on an outing today! Afternoon tea at our local "posh" hotel and I am looking forward to it very much. I went with the WI in January and it was really lovely so we decided that DH and I should go too. They have a 2 for 1 offer on until the end of March which is really good value.

Soop's descriptive "buggeration" comes to mind about your freezer problem Mattie and hopefully, some efficient person at the supplier will solve it quickly for you today.

So happy that Nazanin is safely back home with her husband and daughter. The delight and happiness for their family is uplifting amidst all the awful continuing death and destruction in Ukraine.

Take care everyone and have the best day you can. sunshine

ShazzaKanazza Thu 17-Mar-22 07:43:33

Good morning Mick and everyone from a lovely blue skied hull. We have a sunny mild week forecast now.
Hope you have a quieter day grandMattie and get the freezer replaced quickly.
Glanced at the news headlines and on the Sun’s Denise Van Outen’s sex tape hell has overtaken the Ukraine war and Nazanins return. No words!! We can always rely on them.
Not to much on today just an hour in the gym and then possibly a visit to DD. I offered my baby cuddling service while she went for a sleep.
Happy St Patrick’s day and I’m sure a few pints of beer will be enjoyed.
Have a lovely day everyone and hope Thursday brings moments of joy ?

Gingster Thu 17-Mar-22 07:43:15

Good morning all and it’s a lovely sunny morning.
We’ll have to set to and clean the car and conservatory windows following the dust that was brought down by the rain yesterday. What a mess!

Chrissielou - my thoughts are with you today. Keep positive ! ?.
No news of when my DD will have her op, - she’s chasing up the hospital.?

Sar - you will be super-organised, I’m sure. Hope the girls have a successful rehearsal. ?

GM - I hope you get your new fridge freezer. You could do without all this extra stress. ??

Bowls and art for me today ?.

Enjoy the sunshine everyone. ?. ???

Marydoll Thu 17-Mar-22 07:43:02

Ash, sorry to hear your news. Its rife here too. DD couldn't come last night, as someone in her team, has just tested positive.
I got to church yesterday, to find our young assistant priest rushing about trying to open up. Thank goodness, I had my keys with me!
The sacristan on duty had tested positive, just before coming out and couldn't open up the church.
What is worrying, is that his wife has been sheilding, after having a liver transplant fifteen years ago, which is now failing. She is extremely vulnerable, poor lady. Her life recently has been so hard.

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 17-Mar-22 07:42:34

Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
What a palaver grandmattie hope you get that sorted soon
I wish your daughter all the best with her treatment Chrissielou
Yesterday I finally handed over all of our dear dog’s beds and food and toys to a dog rescue centre. The 3rd one I contacted. The first one was more interested in us taking another dog, the 2nd one never got back to us. 3rd time lucky.
It was lovely to hear about the Glesca grand meet up. Glad you all enjoyed it.
Today it Sainsburies delivery, then maybe a snooze after a lousy night!!
Have the best day possible folks!

brook2704 Thu 17-Mar-22 07:37:00

Good morning everyone from a sunny but cold Inverness, looks like we’ve had some overnight frost too
I hope your DH enjoys sitting in his new sunny spot looking at the garden GM, one of life’s simple pleasures
Yesterday I had another good day going out for lunch with some ladies from the Aqua class. Lots of laughs and good company
Later today we’re off down to road to Edinburgh to stay over near the airport as we’ve an early flight in to Palma in the morning.
Have a lovely time with the family Sar - it sounds like you’ve a full on day, enjoy!
Take care travelling corner and enjoy seeing your DS
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Marydoll Thu 17-Mar-22 07:35:59

Good morning all from a very sunny, but frosty Glasgow, its -2 today. Showers are forecast, yet again!

Happy at. Patrick's Day.? My mother's family in Ireland, used to send shamrock for us to wear and a colleague in my school used to supply those of Irish descent with some, which we wore on our clothing.i miss those traditions.

Nothing much to report, here. We have a gas engineer coming, but I just cannot be bothered. Our boiler is just out of warranty, but Scottish Gas insisted it is serviced again, so that we can continue our homecare agreement. It was only serviced in October, by a jobsworth. I hope its not him again. ?

I spent a good deal of yesterday, lying down, my angina flared up, the Glesca Grannies meet up took its toll! I would love to lie in bed today!
Grammaretto sent me some photos, so I have messaged everyone for permission to post them. I hope I don't have to photoshop people out!?

Fortunately my GP is phoning today for my fortnightly check up and to discuss increasing my heart medication again.
Hopefully I will get back on track soon. ?

Wishing anyone, who is travelling, a safe journey, especially Soop, with her multiple appointments. Kim, you must be so excited. I'm delighted to hear Nazanin is safely home.
Thinking of all, who are in the sick bay.
Have the best you can, everyone.

Ashcombe Thu 17-Mar-22 07:35:32

Good morning, all, from a beautifully sunny Torbay. Not that I’ll be going anywhere - I have Covid…..

…. as of lunchtime yesterday when my LFT showed positive. I’d had cold symptoms for a couple of days but tested negative. A raw throat and severe headache were the worst I suffered yesterday. I’m so glad DH is here to play nursey!

The sad part is that we had booked to see Birmingham Royal Ballet perform Don Quixote in Plymouth today. ☹️ I think a refund would have been available but we passed the tickets to two grateful friends from the theatre company who have recently discovered the joy of watching ballet. ?

I’m very tired today but have few other symptoms now, mercifully. Our case numbers in Torbay are above average currently so it’s no surprise that I’ve succumbed.

Wishing you all as good a day as possible. A happy day for Nazanin and family! ??????

Urmstongran Thu 17-Mar-22 07:33:37

Here’s Matt. ?

Chrissielou Thu 17-Mar-22 07:27:41

A beautiful sunny morning here in Oxfordshire after a dreadful wet day yesterday.

My DD1 receives results of her scan today following the 8wk drug trial, a very anxious time for her. As it is a via video call with the consultant, it means I can join her. She will commence 6months of chemo on Monday. It's a hard journey at times, but I'm so proud of her, shes shown such courage.

harrigran Thu 17-Mar-22 07:22:34

Good morning from a dry and bright NE.
Yesterday afternoon the sky was the colour of sulphur and we had some heavy rain.
DS coming this morning, he will take me shopping and we will play our usual game of Scrabble.
GDs are not coming after school this week so DS and I can have anything we fancy for dinner.
Have a good day.

kittylester Thu 17-Mar-22 07:19:04

Good morning all from a bright North Leicestershire.

A pootling and faffing day today including a trip to the egg farm and a bed change. No doubt other things will turn up.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Serendipity22 Thu 17-Mar-22 07:07:39

Morning all from a soon to be ? morning, apparently thanks to the BBC weather, the ? will be out in an hours time ??.

What an exhausting time you had yesterday grandMattie, hopefully today is less hectic.

Today i am going to see a friend i used to work with and our old manager is coming too, we have stayed in touch since all 3 of us left work, its my turn to get the buns/cake. We take it in turn, last time our ex manager bought us all a divine , scrumptious OHH LA LA cup cake each ...... i have bought us Aldi's best haaaaa.

Yesterday we bought a new microwave, today i have to read, read, read ( and retain ) alllll information on how to use it, husband chose it and it looks like i need a degree to work it ! I would have chosen a far far simpler version.

Enjoy your day everyone ?

GrannyGravy13 Thu 17-Mar-22 07:04:26

Morning Mick and all

The sun is shining outside, and after the horrid orange sand, rain and orange hue to the clouds yesterday it is very welcome.

No plans for today, but as my cleaning fairies didn’t turn up yesterday I suppose I should get reacquainted with the hoover and cleaning products…

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Urmstongran Thu 17-Mar-22 07:02:25

Matt will be along later hopefully - the photo won’t load at present I have no idea why.

Good morning everyone from a very windy woo corner of Malaga. Weather wise we’re getting everything thrown at us this week! Our Bolton friends fly home tomorrow so we’re meeting them in the bar downstairs for beers and tapas this afternoon. She said she’ll be glad to get home for some sunshine! ?

Good to see in the newspaper that Nazanin is home. Happy St Patrick’s Day to all our grans from the Emerald Isle. Thoughts too for all the grans who feel poorly or who have relatives who are which must be worrisome and draining. x

Sar53 Thu 17-Mar-22 07:01:37

Good morning from Leamington Spa. A long journey yesterday but I arrived safely amid torrential rain which persisted for the rest of the day.
DD1 and SIL are off to a wedding in the Cotswolds this morning. Unfortunately it is also the dress rehearsal of the dance show the eldest and youngest granddaughters are taking part in.
I have to collect them from school, feed them and get them ready , hair and makeup, to be picked up, with all their costumes, an hour later ?.
Let's hope it all goes smoothly ?.
I will probably tackle the big pile of ironing and mending that is always here.
Enjoy Thursday everyone whatever you may be doing xx

MawtheMerrier Thu 17-Mar-22 06:51:12

Good morning from N Bucks where normal ? service is resuming. Yesterday was a complete wash out so it is a joy to see Spring is really here.
Frustrating for you Grandmattie for your fridge/freezer to choose just now to let you down. Here’s hoping you have a shiny new one very soon and in the meantime no doubt will be eating your way through the contents of the old one with some interesting menu choices?
A peaceful and peaceful day to you all.

Kim19 Thu 17-Mar-22 06:39:55

Morning all, quick nose peek reveals cars frosty white. Back in bed for me! Bits and pieces of lovely preparation for son1 arrival tonight. Pick him up at the station 2222. Very precise. Can't wait but my day will fleet along as I see to the desired indulgences. Wishing you all a pleasant and peaceful day. At least we have some happy news in today's headlines. Amen to that.

cornergran Thu 17-Mar-22 06:36:49

Morning Mick, morning All from a cold, clear corner of SomerSet.

A happy St Patrick’s Day

Yesterday went to plan other than a difficult call from our goddaughter. She does worry us. Today it’s an early start, we’re off along two motorways to spend time with our eldest. Breakfast together, a visit to tidy my parents grave before seeing the changes our son has made to his home. I’ll abandon him and his Dad this afternoon for a long awaited catchup with a friend. Two hours will fly past, I do miss her.

Goodness grandmattie what a kerfuffle, a broken fridge freezer isn’t what you need. Hope today is easier and a rapid replacement available.

Best be off. Time and motorways wait for no one. Take care everyone. Hope Thursday is kind to us all.

grandMattie Thu 17-Mar-22 06:21:37

Good morning from a clear, about-to-be sunny E Kent. We need some rain, nothing has fallen for over a fortnight.
Wasn’t the light odd yesterday morning? Sulphurous and threatening.
Not such a bad day. We are both exhausted. I meant to get a brioche loaf to make a bread and butter pudding- DH doesn’t like rice pudding, but forgot.
We had a bit of a commotion in the early evening. DGS, his mum and her chap came to move one of out two recliners to the dining room. DH likes to sit there because it’s sunny and looks out to the garden rather than the street. Eventually, they transported it via the garden - we have a “chicane” between the rooms.
Meanwhile I spent nearly an hour at the telephone trying to sort out a new fridge/freezer. Of course, inevitably, ours has broken down and needs replacing it. I wanted one which could be installed with the integrated doors, and the old one removed and recycled. Also, one asap! Blooming heck. Nothing electronic was working their end, so they are calling today to try again!
When it was all over, I managed to hurriedly make some courgettes in tomato and boil the “tummy buttons” (tortellini) for dinner. Long day…
Have a good day all. Carpe diem. ?????

Jaxjacky Thu 17-Mar-22 06:14:14

Good morning Mick frosty and clear here in S Hants. Voluntary phone today and in between, I’ve 3 plants to repot and three to put into the garden.
Happy St Patrick’s Day to all, MrJ may join you later for a beer Mick as he’s from that Emerald Isle.
To those following hope there’s good news for all, especially those poorly or whose family are, may you all have a lovely day ??

Michael12 Thu 17-Mar-22 05:58:54
