Which supermarkets has the most mask wearing?

I find them all much of a much. Kind of 50/50 everywhere I go.

Can't comment on Tesco as we don't have one near me.
Also the examples I'm using are the larger supermarkets.

Booths is full of mask wearers.

I'm in Ireland. I'd say it's about 50/50 most places.

Why is it considered snobby to wear a mask? I haven’t heard that before.

In Waitrose, at least first thing on a Thursday morning, which is when I shop, more mask wearers than non-maskwearers

I mentioned this to a friend and she said. " what dyou expect, it's Asda"
So there is a snobby element to it.

Waitrose has the most mask wearers near me. But it also appears to have the oldest shoppers, at the times I visit , anyway.

Yes I sometimes wonder if its because there are more elderly customers at some supermarkets.

I was thinking that, but I didn't want to say it.

Lidl here seem to be most people are wearing masks

About three quarters not wearing masks in Morrisons yesterday and yes, it seems to be the older generation wearing masks (though not exclusively).

Asda have always provided masks plus hand sanitiser here 50/50 people wear masks.

But then Lidl and Sainsburys has a mix of young and older customers, same as Asda.
So scrap that theory.

Perhaps some shops attract more adventurous, risk taking customers?

I was in Brighton last weekend out and about in shops pubs restaurants ect saw very few masks the whole time surprisingly those I did see tended to be young people

That's the funniest thing I've read!

At the risk of sounding really snobby, the average customer in Asda yesterday didn't look capable as if they were hiking up any mountains, any time soon.

So no, I wouldn't have said they were more risk taking. More couldn't give a damn maybe!

Except for a few things I usually go to Asda, since it’s the closest and most convenient.

But at the height of the first lockdown, i.e. long before vaccines, I witnessed a group of 4 late teens/early 20s blokes, all wearing masks on their chins as they went round the shop talking and laughing very loudly.

I did ask a member of staff why none of them said anything.
‘We’re not allowed.’

From experience at the time, M&S and Waitrose were the most compliant, and I think still are.

Yep, perhaps they are depressed at having to shop in Asda, so don't take care of themselves so much?

I wonder if there are accredited studies on mask wearing trends?

At the height of the pandemic I often saw families with just the man not wearing a mask.

We only have a Sainsburys and if you go early in the week it is mainly older people with masks BUT quite a few of their staff did not have them.
I did look into M&S but there were more people and again the older were wearing masks.
I have had reports that in Booths and Waitrose in other towns most people are masked.
Dare I say is it the cheaper supermarkets where younger customers shop that mainly masks are less.

I doubt there’s any difference people are either mask wearers or not or are you trying to imply that the more expensive food outlets have the most mask wearers ?
Eg Waitrose and M and S are the best at mask wearing ?

I visited a M&S food store yesterday. I saw no masks apart from my own, and was surprised to see that the transparent till screens had been removed. I am immunosuppressed therefore was a bit wary.
