My post went too soon. The young man opposite will help if there is any heavy job DH can’t manage. It is reassuring to know we have neighbours who will help in a crisis. Our younger son and DIL live in a close of about ten bungalows, mainly older people, our son mows the lawn of the elderly lady next door and she bakes him cakes in return and he and DIL walk another neighbour’s little dog every evening as her owner has mobility problems, they also took the dog to be groomed. It’s nice to know good neighbours aren’t a thing of the past.
What do you find yourself avoiding more as you get older?
