What did you never own up to ?
It’s been a while so I will start us off…….whats for supper and why?

Welcome to Gransnet and the GM thread Optomistic1
Hello everyone and in particular Mick who I hope is feeling ok.
I am fairly new to Gransnet and very new to this forum and thread. I have been reading it for about a week now and love the general chit chat that goes on.
I live in Cheshire and took early retirement from the NHS last year ( covid just about finished me off!) . I live on my own with my cat Katy and have a son who lives in London with his wife and my gorgeous grandson who is nearly 2 . I don’t get to see the, as often as I would like but we speak and FaceTime so that’s good.
I look forward to reading all about your daily activities - today I have been back to Specsavers again to try and get my new varifocals right - third time lucky and then have enjoyed digging in my back garden and making the most of the lovely weather.
Hope you have all had a good day
C
Good afternoon from a lovely sunny Dunblane. What a difference the sun makes. It is our son’s 43rd birthday today how did that happen! It was snowing when he was born!
Best wishes to all who are struggling.
Hello everyone! Having a very late and lazy start today. Son1 has gone for a walk and I'm in recovery from our delightful day yesterday. Thought I was pretty active and able but was somewhat tested by our various goings on. Just as well be only has one birthday a year! My sympathetic thoughts are with those currently going through the mill and I'll happily celebrate with those who are on a high. ??
Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s a lovely sunny day in my corner of Lancashire though a chill wind, currently 10°C.
We were up relatively early This morning, Sunday is usually a lie in. The rotary dryer is full, taking advantage of sun and wind. I love line dried laundry
. Mr. B finished the sparrow mansion nest box he was building yesterday and has fixed it to the balcony railings so I can watch the birds. I hope the sparrows like it. He has quite a talent for woodwork and I make sure to praise any creations. Bacon rolls for brunch in a little while. Physio exercises later, I need to put in some hard work on my core and my balance if I want to be fit for some walks now Spring is here.
So sorry to hear about your experience yesterday Mick. I hope it’s just a change in your meds that’s needed. Have a restful day today.
Thinking of you Grandmattie, so much woe in your life to cope with x
Hope your DH feels better today Urmstongran and it isn’t Covid. I think a test is in order.
Safe journey baubles
I must post this now as I can hear the bacon (and Mr.B!) reaching critical mass in the kitchen. I’ll read the rest of your posts later.
Whatever you’re doing I hope you all have a good day and find a random flamingo or two ??
A late Good Morning from another sunny day in N.,Cambs.,
May I add my thoughts for you, Mick, do have a restful day & make sure you have food/meals regularly, even if they are simple, easy ones. Take Care.
for all who need them, thinking of all with extra burdens to carry.
Good morning all, from a chilly damp Algarve. The forecast is for rain all day but although it was thundering on the skylight earlier it seems to have stopped at the moment. Michael I hope your meds are soon sorted out and am glad that you have a spare pair of glasses. It’s so disorienting to feel unbalanced at all.
As usual I’ve only read the first couple of posts and will catch up with you all later.
Morning from the edge of S Lanarkshire, lovely day again as I head home. Spent yesterday with a dear friend who has just messaged me to say she woke up during the night with a sore throat and has tested positive this morning, oh dear.
Testing daily this week for me now with fingers crossed? Will have to check if my babysitting skills will still be required.
I hope you get attention soon Mick, that was a horrible experience, take care.
Happy holiday baubles, I hope everything goes to plan and that the sun shines for you.
Wishing a good day to all, ?to grandMattie???
Good morning from a sunny west/York's a quiet day for us after family get together yesterday ,it was lovely to see cousins enjoying being together which doesn't happen often enough.I got some lovely gifts you feel guilty when you see what's happening in the world at the moment .Hope all feeling under the weather soon improve .
As long as you are feeling better Ekwa. ? My best friend has tested positive yesterday and is feeling very poorly.
Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny but still nippy Carlisle. I have just returned from a walk and felt gloves would have been welcome.
Not a pleasant experience Mick! This used to happen to my father who had atrial fibrillation. So do chase those medics and make sure they are organising heart checks for you.
You do have a lot of us older ladies on your case at times, don't you ?!
Now I'm going to spend some of my time sitting by my sunny window with a coffee and the papers though reading the latter will probably undo the good done by the walk. Later, probably in the garden digging another hole and unearthing more stones. I may have to contemplate constructing a rockery.
You reminded me on Friday that a headache could mean covid Grandmabatty. I realise that that thought doesn't usually occur to me though it probably should especially as it seems to be getting rampant again at the moment. I'm very prone to headaches for various reasons.
I really hope you and your DH have a better day grandMattie
There seems to be a lot of poorly folk around at the moment and I wish you and yours better days.
Good morning from a bright, though still chilly, South Yorkshire.
Hope you’re feeling a bit better today, Mick after your dizzy spell and admission to hospital. Take it easy today, and ring your surgery in the morning.
A potter in the garden later for me, I think. There are some weeds that require my attention.
Take care everyone.
Good morning from a sunny NE.
The family said the seafront was bracing yesterday, they were chilled and ready for tea and cakes when they got here.
SIL had his staples out yesterday, he says he is OK but has loss of sensation around the operation site.
DD is extremely tired and stressed with the extra work and had to get insurance to drive her DH's car so she can drive him to appointments. She only managed three days at work in Belgium before she had to return to the UK.
A quiet day for me after a houseful yesterday, I went straight to bed when they went home.
Thoughts are with poorly people and carers.
good morning from sunny W Kent. Quiet day today probably a walk later on and have some books to deliver to DD who is down with the covid.
So sorry to hear what happened Mick hope you get to see someone soon.
Very best wishes to all.
Good Morning from the Scottish Borders. A nip in the air but promising to be another very warm day.
What a shock Mick. Will you have a follow up now at the hospital?
I had lovely videos of DGC sent to me yesterday. It's great to see that they are all doing well but I wish I saw them more often.
Covid is very much still around and the memorial service for a friend this week has been postponed leaving us all bewildered! some of us already are
I am glad you are feeling better Ash. I hope MrUrms is OK. Sending very good wishes to grandMattie to Maw to Marydoll and to all who need a boost booster right now.
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning from sunny Anglesey.
Black out not good Mick, make sure you ring the surgery first thing or sooner if you feel ill.
I’m sure Philip will miss your presence today gMattie but will understand. Try to steal some quiet moments for yourself to just be.
Sorry to hear that your son has to have an op on his hand Jax and hope it goes well.
We’re off to visit our local family, have lunch and play with the little ones.
Have the best day you can everyone ??
Good morning from sunny Colchester. I could get used to this spring weather. Yesterday was very windy but that has dropped today and the forecast rain is now not due until after bedtime.
DH is out again today and DS will sleep late. I have some admin to do but will have a lazy Sunday and cook a roast pork dinner for this evening.
Hope you can get your health and specs sorted Mick.
Urms that's exactly how my DH started with the dreaded virus ?it's not.
Sending much love and best wishes to everyone else....I don't like to miss anyone out ?x
Good morning Mick and everyone from a beautiful Hull. Mick so sorry to hear about your blackout.
grandMattie? wishing your DGS a happy 18th birthday. A poignant day for him today.
As we opened the dining room blinds DH said ‘it looks like a crime scene out there’ there are about 20 outlines of DGD1 as she insisted we drew round her outline in chunky chalk all the way up the garden path. DGS managed not to eat any mealworms yesterday at the park but even the ducks, pigeons and seagulls turned their nose up at them as well so brought them home.
Today we are picking up mum and going over to her static caravan at the coast to help her open it up again for the new season. They switched the electric and water on at the site. Covid and my step dad having cancer meant she’s hardly been the last two years.
Take care everyone, enjoy the ? and hope Sunday brings moments of joy?
Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Northampton. Think I will have a lazy morning, then out to do some gardening this afternoon.
Had a good day out shopping yesterday, enjoyed a nice lunch, and enjoyed the views out over the lakes which the retail park is built on. Lots of people out and about enjoying the sunshine. I spent most of my vouchers on new jeans - had been looking for grey ones for ages. The bus was very crowded coming back (lots of teenage lads heading into town for a night out!), but I kept my mask on.
Hope you get sorted healthwise, Mick, make sure to take it easy today.
Thoughts are with all feeling poorly or worried. May your troubles be eased soon.
Have a lovely Sunday in this lovely weather.
Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
Sorry to hear you had a blackout Mick do take care.
GM
Healing vibes for those sick and feeling poorly.
Chicken for dinner and perhaps some time in the garden.
Take care all and may you all find some ?.
Morning Mick, morning All from a bright, sunny corner of Somerset.
The sea front was surprisingly quiet yesterday. Sat outside our favourite tiny cafe looking across the water and thought how lucky we were to be able to do it. Laundry dried beautifully. A long chat with a friend in the afternoon, a more than good enough day.
No idea how today will pan out. Wait and see time.
Please speak to your surgery tomorrow mick, some intervention definitely needed. Agree with others urms, a covid test is a very good plan. You are both and will remain in my thoughts grandmattie. Pleased you feel a little better ash.
Take care everyone. Hope Sunday is gentle with us all.
Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow.
A frightening incident for you Mick, glad to hear you are home safely and have not been kept in hospital. If your GP has not been alerted, may I suggest you call him tomorrow.
Baubles, I meant to message you last night, but only realised this morning, I hadn't done it! I hope you have a fabulous time, I am absolutely ? with envy!!!
I am off out to cover one of the sacristans, who has had a bad fall, the other two have Covid. It's rife here.
The only other sacristan, left standing has offered to open up, as I struggle first thing in the morning, so that I can take my time. My increased heart meds are taking a bit of time to get used to and I have a very swollen ankle, which I suspect is also being caused by the meds. I'm between a rock and a hard place. A call tomorrow to my GP may be necessary.
We received a message from the honeymooners in Florida, asking if could put the bins out! DILs parents are in Lanzarote ( recovering from the wedding) and other family members are on their way to Florida to join the honeymooners.
They live two towns away, so a busy Sunday ahead!
Sending best wishes to all, who are ill or struggling. Urms, I hope your husband feels better, but I agree with Maw, regarding a test, especially if you are flying home soon.
Enjoy your Sunday, everyone, whatever your plans.
Good morning all from a very sunny, bright but chilly North Leicestershire.
Not a lot happening here today.
Such a lot going on with everyone else. Please look after yourselves and your families.
Morning all
Oh Mick I do hope you are going to see your GP tomorrow, take care and have an easy day.
grandMattie my heart goes out to you, (((hugs)))
Sar53 congratulations to your DGD, enjoy your time with them.
Ashcombe well done to your GD.
Urmstongran like Maw said have you got a LFT? It might be a good idea to get DH to take a test.
Blue sky here in S E Essex. DH is going to cook breakfast then I am going to retreat to the bedroom, all windows open and have a pampering morning (face pack, foot mask and start a new book) then we are out for Sunday Lunch at 3.30pm (very early for us) with DD and the GC.
