grandMattie Sun 20-Mar-22 06:10:52

Good morning from daylit E Kent.
Oh, Mick, such bad luck. Glad you’ve got spare glasses. I hope your meds can be easily sorted.
Another rubbish day, although we both managed a nap in the afternoon. Made a little bolognaise sauce for dinner,
Going to early church, the the district nurse is coming to reset the syringe driver. Possible visit from a friend.
Have the best day possible today, especially those with pain and problems. Carpe diem. ??????

grandMattie Sun 20-Mar-22 06:12:07

Forgot. It’s our darling DGS’s 18th birthday today. Sadly, we won’t be able to join the festivities. Philip was so looking forward to today,

MawtheMerrier Sun 20-Mar-22 06:49:09

Good morning on another gloriously sunny day! ??
So sorry to hear that Mick these blackouts need investigating , I hope it is straightforward and that you don’t have to wait too long for action.
GM - the special days do sometimes sneak up on us and whack us round the head quite unexpectedly. I have often felt that grief is like walking along the sea front when it is all calm but then suddenly a huge wave breaks over your head simply drenching you.
My father’s birthday today - he would have been 109 but died when he was 88. If think 109 is a long time, I have to remind myself I’ve been around for 74 of those years hmm hmm
I might need to borrow GrandMattie’s carpe diem
Wishing you all a pleasant Sunday

Ashcombe Sun 20-Mar-22 06:53:34

Good morning, all, from a chilly but fine Torbay.

So sorry to hear of your blackout, Mick. I hope you can be seen soon to have your heart checked. A poignant day for your family, grandMattie, as your DGS reaches his milestone birthday. Daytime naps will be good for you and your DH currently.

My DGD (9) has passed her three dancing exams (ballet, tap and modern) with distinction. Yesterday, I received a get well letter from her in which she told me I could text her whenever I liked and she included the times she's available to reply! She’s thoughtful, like her Mum.

No church, sadly, as I’m still isolating for a few more days but beginning to feel better. It’s frustrating to be indoors on these fine days but others on here have heavier crosses to bear. Thinking of those with worries about the health of loved ones. Every blessing. ✝️

Good Morning everyone from another clear and bright south coast. 4.6c at 6am.

GM we can only take things a day at a time and it seems that is what you are having to do. I hope that your DH's pain is being better managed and that you can get some rest and relief from the constant anxiety. Sending a hug and thinking of you both.

Sorry to hear about your latest health incident Mick and hope you get your meds sorted and your glasses mended. Good idea to keep a spare pair at hand.

Nothing planned here for today but something always seem to turn up. Might even be a visit from DD who is back home after her first week staying at their flat near her job. She will be off again in the morning.

Take care everyone and have the best day you can.sunshine

Urmstongran Sun 20-Mar-22 06:59:49

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s light but not sunny. We may have rain later. Nelly in the bar downstairs is making paella for 9pm. We are dining with two lovely neighbours who are over from Bognor Regis. Drinks at theirs first. However this depends how Himself is feeling today. He went to bed at 6pm last night, shivery with muscle aches and general weariness. Not at all like him. He’s not seen a doctor for years. I’ve suggested an MOT when we get home.

A bittersweet day for you grandMattie. Your poor grandson will miss the presence of Philip today. A poignant take on grief Maw so true.

Enjoy Sunday all who can. x

MawtheMerrier Sun 20-Mar-22 07:08:43

Has he taken a test Urmstongran ?
The symptoms sound familiar - or it could be manflu. ??

Jaxjacky Sun 20-Mar-22 07:10:29

Good morning from sunshine in S Hants. Oh dear Mick take it slowly today, hopefully soon sorted.
gMattie roller coaster days, my heart is with you ?
Turns own my son does need an op, so back to Salisbury early tomorrow, garden today, football this afternoon.
I hope your DH is feeling better today Urms and pleased you’re improving Ash.
Enjoy today the best you can all ??

Sar53 Sun 20-Mar-22 07:12:19

Good morning from a lovely sunny Leamington.
Sorry to hear of your blackout Mick, get yourself to your GP on Monday.
flowers for GM on this poignant day.
The dance show last night was incredible. Both my granddaughters did us proud. The ballet dance my 13 year old DGD was in, there were only 7 dancers, left my daughter and I in tears, it was beautiful. I can see the passion she has for dance in each performance.
A lazy day here after the hecticness (is that a word) of the last few days. I will be watching my team in the quarter finals of the FA Cup at lunchtime. Banished to the bedroom as, apart from DGD2, they are not a football family.
Later this afternoon we are going out for dinner.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone xxx

baubles Sun 20-Mar-22 07:22:53

Good morning all from Edinburgh airport.

Sorry to hear about your mishap Mick, make sure you have it investigated.

I’m waiting for DH whose hand luggage has been picked out for a check, I’ve already been patted down. So busy going through security.

Hope everyone has as good a day as possible. ??

Grandmabatty Sun 20-Mar-22 07:34:15

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 1°. I could get used to the blue skies though. It's a beautiful day. Mick I hope you are alright now and can get your meds sorted. Grandmattie I hope you have a better day today. Baubles have a lovely holiday.
Yesterday tested my metal as a grandma and baby whisperer. Dgs2 will not go for a nap easily and not for long! Then his mum and dad missed the train so dgs2 was not happy at bed and breast being delayed and let me know it! His baby hair is coming in a beautiful auburn and boy, does he have a red headed temper! In between howls, he was sunny and cooing at grandma and very smiley. I was glad to get home though.
Today I will have to go to Aldi and finish the washing from yesterday, but that's as much as I will do. Chicken for dinner. Have a good day all.

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 20-Mar-22 07:35:46

Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
Today’s the day ! Yes today my DH has his cataract sorted at a medical centre in Leeds. He’s making his own way there and DD2 will pick him up while I look after DGS.
That must have given you a fright Mick, yes, time to sort your meds out.
I hope things improve for you soon GrandMattie. You’ve got good support so hope DH is feeling better than he was.
The dance show sounds lovely Sar, maybe your DGDs have found their vocation?
Have the best day possible folks

Grandmajean Sun 20-Mar-22 07:38:15

Good morning from Cheshire
That must have been frightening , Mick
Hope you get it sorted out.
GrandMattie you show so much resilience in what are really tough times.
You do indeed seize the day.

Gingster Sun 20-Mar-22 07:41:20

Good morning all from a sunny but very chilly Suffolk Coast.
Easterly wind and it’s bitterly cold.

Boiler has been fixed and fences back up and strengthened. The dangling cables have been replaced and the cottage is warm and toasty ?. Spent most of yesterday cleaning windows and garden furniture. That Sahara sand certainly left it’s mark ?. Today DH will mow the lawns and I will clear the steps that lead down to the beach. I think it’s Alexandria weed. Easy to pull up but it spreads everywhere.

Ive just noticed a big seagull deposit on our freshly cleaned window. ?.

Mick take it easy today. Get to the docs tomorrow. ?

Ash - glad you are improving. ?

GM happy birthday to your GS. Mixed emotions for you today. ?.

Sar - the ballet sounds wonderful. How lovely for you to watch your Gd’s perform. ??‍♀️. Enjoy the rest of your stay with them ?.

Urms - hope your DH feels better this morning. ?. You don’t want your last few days spoiled with poorliness! .

Hoping you all have a gentle day, enjoying what you can. ???

GrannyGravy13 Sun 20-Mar-22 07:42:11

Morning all

Oh Mick I do hope you are going to see your GP tomorrow, take care and have an easy day.

grandMattie my heart goes out to you, (((hugs)))

Sar53 congratulations to your DGD, enjoy your time with them.

Ashcombe well done to your GD.

Urmstongran like Maw said have you got a LFT? It might be a good idea to get DH to take a test.

Blue sky here in S E Essex. DH is going to cook breakfast then I am going to retreat to the bedroom, all windows open and have a pampering morning (face pack, foot mask and start a new book) then we are out for Sunday Lunch at 3.30pm (very early for us) with DD and the GC.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️??

kittylester Sun 20-Mar-22 07:49:49

Good morning all from a very sunny, bright but chilly North Leicestershire.

Not a lot happening here today.

Such a lot going on with everyone else. Please look after yourselves and your families.

Marydoll Sun 20-Mar-22 07:53:47

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow.
A frightening incident for you Mick, glad to hear you are home safely and have not been kept in hospital. If your GP has not been alerted, may I suggest you call him tomorrow.

Baubles, I meant to message you last night, but only realised this morning, I hadn't done it! I hope you have a fabulous time, I am absolutely ? with envy!!!

I am off out to cover one of the sacristans, who has had a bad fall, the other two have Covid. It's rife here.
The only other sacristan, left standing has offered to open up, as I struggle first thing in the morning, so that I can take my time. My increased heart meds are taking a bit of time to get used to and I have a very swollen ankle, which I suspect is also being caused by the meds. I'm between a rock and a hard place. A call tomorrow to my GP may be necessary.

We received a message from the honeymooners in Florida, asking if could put the bins out! DILs parents are in Lanzarote ( recovering from the wedding) and other family members are on their way to Florida to join the honeymooners.
They live two towns away, so a busy Sunday ahead!

Sending best wishes to all, who are ill or struggling. Urms, I hope your husband feels better, but I agree with Maw, regarding a test, especially if you are flying home soon.

Enjoy your Sunday, everyone, whatever your plans.

cornergran Sun 20-Mar-22 07:59:08

Morning Mick, morning All from a bright, sunny corner of Somerset.

The sea front was surprisingly quiet yesterday. Sat outside our favourite tiny cafe looking across the water and thought how lucky we were to be able to do it. Laundry dried beautifully. A long chat with a friend in the afternoon, a more than good enough day.

No idea how today will pan out. Wait and see time.

Please speak to your surgery tomorrow mick, some intervention definitely needed. Agree with others urms, a covid test is a very good plan. You are both and will remain in my thoughts grandmattie. Pleased you feel a little better ash.

Take care everyone. Hope Sunday is gentle with us all.

monk08 Sun 20-Mar-22 08:01:27

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
Sorry to hear you had a blackout Mick do take care.
flowers GM
Healing vibes for those sick and feeling poorly.
Chicken for dinner and perhaps some time in the garden.
Take care all and may you all find some ?.

BlueSapphire Sun 20-Mar-22 08:18:58

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Northampton. Think I will have a lazy morning, then out to do some gardening this afternoon.

Had a good day out shopping yesterday, enjoyed a nice lunch, and enjoyed the views out over the lakes which the retail park is built on. Lots of people out and about enjoying the sunshine. I spent most of my vouchers on new jeans - had been looking for grey ones for ages. The bus was very crowded coming back (lots of teenage lads heading into town for a night out!), but I kept my mask on.

Hope you get sorted healthwise, Mick, make sure to take it easy today.

Thoughts are with all feeling poorly or worried. May your troubles be eased soon.

Have a lovely Sunday in this lovely weather.

ShazzaKanazza Sun 20-Mar-22 08:25:32

Good morning Mick and everyone from a beautiful Hull. Mick so sorry to hear about your blackout.
grandMattie? wishing your DGS a happy 18th birthday. A poignant day for him today.
As we opened the dining room blinds DH said ‘it looks like a crime scene out there’ there are about 20 outlines of DGD1 as she insisted we drew round her outline in chunky chalk all the way up the garden path. DGS managed not to eat any mealworms yesterday at the park but even the ducks, pigeons and seagulls turned their nose up at them as well so brought them home.
Today we are picking up mum and going over to her static caravan at the coast to help her open it up again for the new season. They switched the electric and water on at the site. Covid and my step dad having cancer meant she’s hardly been the last two years.
Take care everyone, enjoy the ? and hope Sunday brings moments of joy?

Pittcity Sun 20-Mar-22 08:32:53

Good morning from sunny Colchester. I could get used to this spring weather. Yesterday was very windy but that has dropped today and the forecast rain is now not due until after bedtime.
DH is out again today and DS will sleep late. I have some admin to do but will have a lazy Sunday and cook a roast pork dinner for this evening.

Hope you can get your health and specs sorted Mick.

Urms that's exactly how my DH started with the dreaded virus ?it's not.

Sending much love and best wishes to everyone else....I don't like to miss anyone out ?x

LauraNorderr Sun 20-Mar-22 08:33:18

Good morning from sunny Anglesey.
Black out not good Mick, make sure you ring the surgery first thing or sooner if you feel ill.
I’m sure Philip will miss your presence today gMattie but will understand. Try to steal some quiet moments for yourself to just be.
Sorry to hear that your son has to have an op on his hand Jax and hope it goes well.
We’re off to visit our local family, have lunch and play with the little ones.
Have the best day you can everyone ??

Anniebach Sun 20-Mar-22 08:40:00

Good morning Auntyflo and all x
