LFTs are still free until 1st April when they will start charging.
However, they are as rare as hen's teeth at the moment. It will be interesting to see whether they are more available from 1st April! Cynic, moi?! wink

Pittcity Wed 23-Mar-22 15:28:39

Sorry to confuse people. I said "as you are no longer able..... " I should've said "when....." .
Although free lft supply is hit and miss already.

Auntieflo Wed 23-Mar-22 11:48:32

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. Sorry to hear that you are still poorly Mick, please do contact your GP.
GrandMattie, another one here who can't do anything useful for you, but I do hold you and your DH close in my heart and prayers.
There are so many here who are unwell, but hopefully will begin to feel better soon.
Marydoll, are you taking care of yourself?
We have had a chap here to repair a faulty front door. He was due this afternoon, but due to a cancellation, was here shortly after 10.00 am. Murphy's law that the window cleaner us also due today, so we will have to ask him not to get the front door wet.
DH is doing his ironing ?, so I have made us a coffee and I will oversee his bizziness!
Happy Anniversary ChrisseLou, have a lovely day, and your necklace is beautiful.
Looks as though we will have another lovely day, so enjoy all of you.

hollysteers Wed 23-Mar-22 09:57:52

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny northwest coast.
I do hope you take your concerns about your health further Mick and not ignore something like blackouts and nose bleeds, your blood pressure might be dangerously high!
I was touched by cards and presents at the music club for my boithday later in the week, but there were missing members, there’s a lot of sickness of various types going around at the moment.
DD arrives from the south tomorrow so I have unearthed chicken fillets etc from the freezer for some proper cooking (for a change..l)
Usual lunchtime concert and visit to friends mother in nursing home today.
Thoughts to grandMattie Chrissielou Gingster and Kittylester?

Gwenisgreat1 Wed 23-Mar-22 09:54:23

Good Morning from Dry Harrogate, the sun is making an attempt to shine. Hope to get a wash on soon.
You and your DH are having a hard time of it GrandMattie I only hope it gets easier for you both. flowers
For you Mick I join the naggers - you must contact your surgery and you must take an LFT it sounds like you may have covid.
Congratulations Chrissielou on your wedding anniversary
Have the best day you can folks

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 23-Mar-22 09:27:51

Just a quickie, I entered my negative Covid test result a few minutes ago and was able to go to ‘order another test kit’ which I did and I have one on the way.

Maybe they have had some in? Yesterday I wasn’t able to get any.

Marydoll Wed 23-Mar-22 09:17:33

GrannyGravy, I responded to Pitt's, post, because I erroneously took it from her post, that you cannot obtain LFTs at all in England, without paying for them. I stand corrected.
There must be many, for whom that would be an expense, they could not afford.

EkwaNimitee Wed 23-Mar-22 09:17:16

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.
Mick--I'm another one on your case....bite the bullet and contact your GP!
A quiet day in for me though I shall be out in the garden later no doubt. I was out yesterday removing 2 cotoneasters the developer had planted in the front and putting them in the back where they can spread to their hearts' content, and not all over the pavement and my neighbours drive.
I had a podiatry appointment put back because my practitioner had covid. Is everyone getting it?! Feeling nervous about my trip to a family gathering in London at the end of the month.

My thoughts are with you grandMattie and all of you suffering with ill health in the family.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 23-Mar-22 09:08:16

Marydoll

*Pittcity*, I forgot that LFT, are no longer free in England. A very worrying decision, indeed. I wonder how many have unknowingly infected others.
We still have no problem obtaining them here, as hospital admissions are very high. In fact I have a box being delivered today.
Will this never end?

They are free up to 01/04/2022 Marydoll as Gingster posted they LFT packs are in our local chemists and Libraries until then.

A very happy Anniversary to Chrissilou, I love the necklace. I have always liked Clarice Cliff and keep hoping to find a random piece in a charity shop !!!!!

Lins1066 Wed 23-Mar-22 08:56:50

Good morning all, a beautiful one too on the S Welsh coast.

Long awaited scaffolders and the roofer have arrived, they are putting a new roof over the porch today. They are hoping to get the scaffolding for the roof delivered so they can crack on with that. We have been waiting since last September but fortunately there are no problems with the roof, we are future proofing it as we are near the sea and get a battering in rough weather.

Our dgd was fine after her first jabs thankfully.
My blood test was fine despite mislaying my form, I hate losing things. The nurse in the clinic just looked up my file and printed off another, the staff are so good there.
Called in M&S on the way home.
DD has a day off today and has offered to take me out, may go further along the coast.

Take care everyone and Happy Anniversary to Chrissilou ?

Beechnut Wed 23-Mar-22 08:48:24

That’s a lovely necklace Chrissielou. Wishing you both a Happy Anniversary ?

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 23-Mar-22 08:43:39

Good morning from a bright and sunny Oxfordshire it’s only 5 degrees though so a bit nippy.
Mick you should really phone your GP and take a LFT if you have one. MrOops sat opposite a person having lunch for 2 hours and that was enough for him to catch Covid, no hugs or touching, just eating.
Another LFT today to see if I’m clear of Covid it’s my 11th day, still feeling grotty, but I must be negative soon!
We want to go out for a drive today, MrOops is going stir crazy, so fingers crossed I’m ok to go.
My thoughts and prayers are with those with worries.
Congratulations on those with Anniversaries and Birthdays.
Have a good day everyone and let’s all try and enjoy the sun while it lasts. Which reminds me to go and open up the greenhouse and see if my Beans and Peas are sprouting yet.

harrigran Wed 23-Mar-22 08:39:53

Good morning from the NE where it is another sunny day.
My sister and BIL are taking me out for lunch today, I will enjoy the change of scenery. I have a parcel being delivered so must remember to leave the porch door unlocked.
Yesterday was not an easy washing day, the machine was not taking the detergent from the drawer, I had to clean everything and run a cycle with cleaning stuff.
I know how you feel grandMattie, I was in your position last year but without the support that you have. Thinking of you and wishing you the strength to carry on.

aggie Wed 23-Mar-22 08:38:02

Good Morning, it’s cold but very sunny , wondering if I need to water my mini cherry trees in raised beds ?
I’m thinking of all our poorly friends xxx
