Good morning everyone from another bright and sunny day in Northampton.

A day in yesterday awaiting the arrival of my new garden chairs. Got a few jobs done that I hate, such as defrosting the kitchen freezer and washing the kitchen floor. The chairs arrived early afternoon, have tried them out to my satisfaction! Took the cats out into the garden, and trimmed the grass edges while I kept an eye on them.

Off to the cinema this afternoon with a friend to see 'The Phantom of the Open', a golfing film which has had good reviews. I have little interest in golf, but was swayed by seeing the trailer and reading the excellent reviews. But hey, it's an afternoon out!

Have been offered and booked my fourth booster for next Saturday.

Now to go back and read everyone's doings so may pop back in later.

Hope all have a pleasant Saturday in the lovely sunshine.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. A chilly morning and the top temperatures are on the way down from yesterday's 20°. No rain in the foreseeable though.
DH has been banging around since stupid o'clock. He has just set off on a Duke of Edinburgh award weekend. He always leaves packing to the last minute and can never find things. I gave him some sun lotion but I bet he won't use it! I have no idea how he can instruct and assess teenagers when he can't organise himself.
DS and I will have a quiet, restful day witha takeaway tonight. I will have to water the garden this evening.
Love to all ? x

Morning all from a lightly frosted West Oxfordshire. OH and I are going to do a test today. The four of us who were at a friends over a week ago now are still all testing positive up to yesterday. I have a table booked for Mothering Sunday lunch tomorrow and no contingency plans for if we can’t go. I am supposed to be stewarding at the Oxford Literary Festival on Monday, but we’ll see. As I’ve had quite a mild bout of covid, apart from the first day or so, I imagined all would be normal fairly quickly. It doesn’t seem to be as simple as that.

Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
I do hope you find your DH more settled GrandMattie. It’s such a worry for you.
It’s a good idea to take it easy Mick until your wounds are better and your nosebleeds stop.
Yesterday I took a suitcase full of stuff to go to Ukraine, it was a longer walk than anticipated so I was totally knackered. In the afternoon dentist- I’d almost forgotten what a dentist looked like!!
Today it’s baking small cakes for DGDs birthday party tomorrow and also making some fruit crumbles. Think this pm I have to return DDs lawnmower so she can cut her lawn
Hope you have the best day possible folks

Good morning all from Derbyshire. A lovely sunny day here too.

Yesterday turned into a full day with DD's dogs as their house move went much slower than expected, so they were still with us until 7.30pm (the boys having left earlier to go to school for the afternoon). We can now restore normality and do a clean up this morning. My cold caused me to feel extremely hungry all the time so I've completely blown my healthy eating regime over the last few days and must return to that as from today.

Apart from that I plan to enjoy doing very little today.

Hope Saturday is a good day for all.

Ooh thank you for the reminder Susan56 about Carbs & Cals. I’d forgotten the dietician mentioned that. She said it’s available on a free App. I’m going to download it now!
?

Good morning from Shropshire where another sunny day is forecast.

We’re off to visit my mum today?I had booked a table at the restaurant of her choice for lunch then last night she said I hate it there, why would ou book there?‍♀️so have cancelled the table and will collect food from M and S on the way.

I won a Mother’s Day cake yesterday at the local farm shop which was a nice surprise?

Urms, I have a book called Carbs and Cals which although I have been diabetic for a very long time I still refer to and find really useful.

Safe journey Ash and olddudders .

You’ll be glad to see your DH Sar.

Thoughts with GrandMattie, her DH and family?

Good morning all and it’s another beautiful day. Dh and I had a lovely walk over the woods/fields . Didn’t see another soul and the countryside is just coming to life. Gives us all a bit of hope ???.

Yesterday I lunched with one of my old pals. We chatted for all the afternoon and caught up with each other’s news. We’ve known each other now for nearly 50 years and know everything about each other. Can’t let her go now! ?.

Today DS2 and family are coming to take us out for ‘mothers day’ lunch. We’re going to a lovely restaurant right by the river. DIL’s mum is coming too . It will be nice to see her.

I will take little gd to her ballet class first , then back to spruce myself up ready for lunch.

Ash glad you’re feeling better and enjoy your time away .
Sar - what a miserable week you’ve had! DH back today and all will be well!
Mick - look after yourself.

Wishing you all a ‘good’ day.?

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 26-Mar-22 07:16:26

Oops that should read Granmattie, but she popped in just before me.

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 26-Mar-22 07:15:45

Good morning Mick and all, from a bright sunny, bit of a frosty Oxfordshire. Pleased to hear you are recovering Mick.
Nothing much on today, we are dog sitting so will probably go to the woods later for a wander in the sun.
Did the lawn yesterday, first thing I’ve done since feeling better, had to have a lie down afterwards to recover! #lazyoldbat!
Urms our families are all from Portsmouth (Pompey) although as they all moved to Southampton in the late 1800s we don’t shout about it! As you might know there is a ‘friendly’ rivalry.
Hope Grandmabattie is ok.
Have a good day everyone and hugs for those who are coping with sick family and not having a good time of it and those who are sick themselves.

grandMattie Sat 26-Mar-22 07:13:31

I’m here. Just been to the supermarket to get some fresh food at last!
Lovely day again, though it was chilly out at 0600! Beautiful sunrise .
Poor DH is still feeling wretched, no one seems to be able to sort him out at the moment. I’m visiting in a couple of hours and see how the night went. It’s an hour there and an hour back, we have very few “big” roads round here and the traffic in Canterbury is horrendous.
Got my fudge/freezer and a 20% discount because there was a dent and a small hole in the door, hidden by the cabinet door. Very pleased with that!
Must rush. Carpe diem, dear friends. ?????

Urmstongran Sat 26-Mar-22 06:54:02

Safe travels tomorrow Ashcombe I was born in Portsmouth! (My dad was in the RN).

Sar53 Sat 26-Mar-22 06:53:13

Good morning from Essex by the sea where the sun is shining already.
I am still testing positive with some symptoms, hopefully on the upwards slope now.
DH will be home this evening ??. I have missed him especially being unwell and on my own since Monday.
He'll have to do some shopping as the fridge is almost bare.
Have a lovely day and enjoy the sunshine everyone ? xx

brook2704 Sat 26-Mar-22 06:50:53

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve a warm sunny day lined up
We arrived home yesterday after a lovely week away. The washing machine with the holiday clothes is already on and I’ve got a very nice big cup of tea. Today we’re straight back into the usual Saturday routine of taking DGD to her dancing class and then lunch in town for us all afterwards. Then a food shop in Tesco to stock up the fridge again
Best not mention hopping on the scales to me just now Urms - I daren’t!
Enjoy your trip to Brighton Gagagran and have a safe trip tomorrow Ashcome - enjoy your time away
Good news about the 4th jabs happening now
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

BlueBalou Sat 26-Mar-22 06:48:10

Good morning everyone, lovely sunny start here too.
Taking DDog for a different walk this morning, will go to a nearby village and do a woodland walk, have a coffee and enjoy the sunshine. Then more gardening, hoping to get it sorted by the middle of next week, it’s not a big garden at all, actually quite small, but I neglected it through being ill before winter and it is taking me a while to sort it.
Have a lovely weekend everyone ?

cornergran Sat 26-Mar-22 06:47:19

Morning Mick, morning All. Another sunny start to our corner of Somerset.

Enjoyed being out yesterday although Mr C found balance affected by an issue with a knee. Of course he said not a word until we had been out for ages leaving me feeling guilty for not noticing. Booster jab for Mr C this morning then a quick top up shop. Quiet day otherwise.

Pleased you feel better ash, hope the same for all other covid warriors. Thinking of everyone with illness or other worries to contend with.

Take care everyone. Hope Saturday is kind to us all.

Urmstongran Sat 26-Mar-22 06:46:32

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where we have a promising start to the day. We have no plans but I’ve offered to take L’il Miss to her ballet class. The Boy Wonder has a ‘big’ match at a similar time and his dad likes to take him & watch. An empty house just gives my daughter a bit of headspace for an hour or more although knowing her she’ll be doing the laundry and a few chores.

I’m being very mindful of my carbs intake now and hope to see some weight loss by next Thursday’s class. I’m not going to do my usual of hopping on the scales every morning! I hope just a weekly weigh in will motivate me better to stay good.

Enjoy Saturday all who can. x

NanKate Sat 26-Mar-22 06:35:02

Morning Mick and All.

Bright sunshine in South Bucks.

Glad you are feeling better Ashcombe. Hope Kitty and MrKitty have stopped coughing.

We had our 4th boosters on Thursday DH just had a sore arm but I got a temperature and headaches, this was to be expected as the leaflet said so. However it is a small price to pay. Feeling better today.

My DS and his Partner live in theBrighton area Gaga it’s a fun vibrant place to visit and live.

Hope the nosebleeds have stopped Mick

Ashcombe Sat 26-Mar-22 06:20:39

Good morning, Mick and those who follow. It’s another fine morning in Torbay.

I hope healing continues for you, Mick. Yesterday was my best day since contracting Covid and it was a joy to walk over the Downs early in the morning, where we bumped into local friends.

Meanwhile, my car underwent a service which will give me confidence about its roadworthiness for the drive to Portsmouth tomorrow. An overnight stay at a Travelodge close to the port will precede our crossing to Ouistreham on Monday morning.

Enjoy your day, Gagagran; I used to love visiting Brighton when I lived in Dorking as a child.

Have a good weekend, everyone, with special thoughts for those with health issues. ??????

Gagagran Sat 26-Mar-22 06:10:02

We got our 4th jab appointments yesterday - Tuesday for DH at Wednesday for me.

Gagagran Sat 26-Mar-22 06:09:26

Good Morning Mick and everyone. Hope it's an improving picture for you today Mick.

Up early as we have to get the click and collect and then are off to Brighton to see DD's new flat. I have bought a peace lily in a nice pot as a house warming gift. She is coming back home this afternoon (so we will be returning too but at a more leisurely pace!) as they have our DIL staying overnight prior to sailing in Chichester Harbour tomorrow. Busy girls both!

Hoping to hear some better news from all those on the sick list and with worries and concerns. This too shall pass.

Take care everyone and have the best day you can.sunshine
