Good morning from sunny south Dartmoor. I forgot to put the clocks forward so feel discumknockerated.

LauraNorderr Sun 27-Mar-22 11:45:54

Good morning Mick, keep on applying the Vaseline if it helps and do take care, we rely on you to welcome the day.
Good morning all mums on this Mothering Sunday. It’s a beautiful day on the Isle of Anglesey, we’ve already walked along the beach and left footprints in the sand.
You dwell away Grandmadinosaur, no such thing as lowering the mood if you need to chat. Lots of big broad shoulders on here. Happy or sad, it’s just good to be a part of the gn family.

Good morning Mick and everyone. Another sunny day in my corner of Lancashire, currently 14°C.

Yesterday I heard of the sudden death of an acquaintance at the age of 50. Not someone I knew well, but someone I liked and who always seemed so happy and full of life. His family must be devastated.

My body clock will be very erratic for the next week but I’m looking forward to longer evenings.

That sleep must have been much needed Grandmattie, hope things are improving.

Enjoy your Mother’s Day all who celebrate it. Mr. B and I do our best to avoid it as we have both lost our mothers and find it difficult.

Whatever you’re doing I hope you all have a good day and find a random flamingo or two ??

Good Morning to you all from N.,Cambs., Very foggy start here in the fens, that's now clearing, but it's overcast, (so the weather forecasters were right)!
We've had such a lovely sunny, warm spell, so mustn't moan.....

Warm wishes for you all on Mothering Sunday, I know it's mixed blessings for some of you.
( in fact, for most of us who still think of their own mother, even after many years, (+44 years for my own).

We are visiting our DD & family today, (hoping all our LFT's are negative). Hope to see DS too, so most of our immediate family.

Thinking of you all, especially those with extra concerns & worries.

A foggy start here in Oxfordshire this morning, no view over the fields at all at the moment. A lovely day yesterday, catching up with DC and GC over coffee and cake. Thoroughly spoilt with flowers, gifts and cards.
DD1 enjoyed it too, so good to see her laughing with her brothers.
A pottering day, walking the dog and gardening. Roast chicken for tonight. Hope you all have a wonderful day.flowers

Good morning and happy mother's day from slightly cloudy South Yorkshire. Hoping it will clear soon. I was going to visit my mother this morning but she has scuppered my plans by announcing she's off out with her boyfriend for the day ? good for her I say ?
I shall busy myself in the garden getting some more jobs done before the weather breaks up then tea at DS1's this evening to look forward to.
Love to all and have a good day xx

ShazzaKanazza Sun 27-Mar-22 09:40:13

Hope you feel better soon Grandmadinosaur ?

luluaugust Sun 27-Mar-22 09:38:23

Good morning all from a grey miserable W Kent. Strange mothers day with DD and family having covid. DS may pop by later, we shall see.
Best wishes to all.

ShazzaKanazza Sun 27-Mar-22 09:38:05

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a cloudy Hull I keep seeing flecks of blue so hoping for a little sun
.
? for everyone on here this morning you are all such wonderfully caring people. All your families are lucky having you in their lives?

Yesterday was lovely with DGS playing in the garden. He stripped off and played in the borders playing with the soil. So we had to pop him in the bath before handing him over to his other grandparents.
Lovely meal on the marina and rather too many drinks. The marina area in Hull is lovely.
Today the DC and DGC are over so I’m cooking a chicken and beef dinner for them all. Can’t wait to see my DGDs and have cuddles the little baby is just over two weeks and super cute with a black Mohican down the centre of her head.
Take care everyone and hope Sunday brings moments of joy??

Grandmadinosaur Sun 27-Mar-22 09:28:39

Good morning from East Yorkshire. It is a bit overcast today.

The weather matches my mood as I tested positive yesterday. It feels like a head cold and at least I feel like I can potter a bit unlike a few days ago. It’s come at quite a frustrating time not that it’s ever a good time to have COVID. I won’t be going out for lunch with DS and family he is just getting over having Covid himself anyway so I don’t know what the day holds.

Few other things not going well in this household so I won’t dwell on that and lower the mood.

Wishing everyone a Happy Mothering Sunday ?

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

EkwaNimitee Sun 27-Mar-22 09:22:28

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.
I've just returned from a walk, I needed it after indulging in 2 hot cross buns yesterday. One was justified after digging 2 big planting holes in the garden but the other was definitely not as I'd not long had dinner...it was just calling to me from the kitchen!
Nothing is planned for today, I may potter in the garden or more likely sit in it and read once the sun is round there. And probably I shall put some small pictures up on my office wall.

Have a good trip Ashcombe and may all the sickly have a better day.

Susan56 Sun 27-Mar-22 09:07:49

I’m glad your mum was on her best behaviour too Grandmabatty?

Happy mothers day ?we are going to dd,s for tea ,thinking of those who for whatever reason find today hard ??

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 27-Mar-22 08:57:04

Happy Mothering Sunday ??? As I tested positive again yesterday I had to cancel our lunch out today. So we’re having steak and salad for lunch followed by lemon tart. If I test positive this morning I’ll have to cancel my Oxford Literary Festival stewarding tomorrow. I was looking forward to it as there hasn’t been one for a couple of years. I first tested positive last Sunday with symptoms a few days before that! It is misty this morning in West Oxfordshire but once it clears I think it is going to be a beautiful day?

Sar53 Sun 27-Mar-22 08:40:21

Good morning from a very grey Essex by the sea.
Sorry to hear that you probably have Covid GG13, I'm still not 100% after a week.
DH arrived home about 7 last night, it was good to see him.
He's off to rugby this morning then the supermarket as the fridge is very bare.
Happy Mothers Day to all mums. I had a lovely box of goodies from DD1 yesterday, from M&S.
Marydoll it was devastating to miss Genesis after waiting all this time and we tried but failed to resell the tickets.
Enjoy your day whatever you may be doing xxx

Grandmabatty Sun 27-Mar-22 08:39:43

Good morning all from Polmont. It's very foggy here and 3°. I'm hoping it'll burn off soon. Happy Mother's Day to you. I'm glad it went well Susan.
Dd had a lovely afternoon tea organised for us yesterday. Mum was on her best behaviour too. I came away with flowers and gifts.
Today I am doing nothing much. I think the usual pottering will be on the cards. Have a good day all.

merlotgran Sun 27-Mar-22 08:37:20

Good morning everyone and Happy Mother’s Day from the sunny south coast.

A bitter sweet day as marydoll says but I had a lovely card from DD2 and the present of a very pretty bird bath for my new garden. I haven’t the heart to tell her that the only birds I’ve seen so far are magpies, seagulls, and pigeons, who are very clumsy where bird baths are concerned. ?

You must be exhausted, grandMattie, Your two hour nap is obviously just what you needed. Re charge your batteries whenever you get the chance!

Hope everyone has ☀️☀️ today.

Oopsadaisy1 Sun 27-Mar-22 08:36:45

Good morning from a cold and Misty Oxfordshire, it was sunny yesterday but only managed to clamber up to 11degrees, hopefully it will warm up today.

MissOops will come to pick up her dog late morning and will have coffee.

Apart from that a nothing day, but I’ve downloaded some free Kindle Books onto my iPad, some are quite good, if you avoid the ‘Book 1’ which will leave you high and dry and having to pay £7.99 for the next book, and check that it’s a full book and not a 17 page taster. The Perfect Couple was a good book,
crime /thriller.
Anyway have a good day everyone, Happy Mothering Sunday as my Mum always called it, followed by Smothering Monday, that always made us laugh, I wish I could hear her laugh again.
?? for those who need a hug today.

TopsyIrene06 Sun 27-Mar-22 08:26:30

Special thoughts today go out to all who have lost their treasured children. This is a difficult day for you all.

BlueSapphire Sun 27-Mar-22 08:24:17

Good morning and a happy Mothering Sunday from a grey and misty Northampton. Where has the sunshine gone? Was intending on wearing a pretty dress to DD's today, but looks too chilly for it.

Had a lovely afternoon at the cinema with a friend, with a few laughs at the film, 'Phantom of The Open'. An interesting journey home as our bus broke down, but we were allowed to sit and wait on it for 25 minutes until the next one came along.

A lazy morning reading the papers until DD picks me up at lunchtime. Just noticed that Jax had managed to get some LFTs, so I went on the government website and was able to order some, after a week of being unsuccessful. That will see me through I think.

Thinking today of those mums who have lost children, and those who have lost mothers; may they be comforted. flowersflowers

Susan56 Sun 27-Mar-22 08:20:54

Good morning from Shropshire and Happy Mothering Sunday?

Yesterday’s visit to my mum went surprisingly well which is always a bonus!

Today the family are coming over and DH is cooking a roast dinner.

I’m glad to hear your DH is more comfortable GrandMattie.

Safe travels Ash and olddudders.

Wishing everyone a happy and peaceful day??

Gingster Sun 27-Mar-22 08:18:55

Good morning and a Happy Mother’s Day to all ?.

It’s a bit grey and dreary her in Essex . What a shame after a week of sunshine ?.

Yesterday was lovely with DS2 an family. We went to a riverside restaurant and we’re given a pod. 7 of us and plenty of room. The 2 gd’s thought it such fun. Something a bit different. ?
They took 2 hours to get home to Hertfordshire. It should take an hour! ?.
Like you Gagagran , I find the traffic overwhelming and stressful. We don’t really travel far at weekends and the weekdays are getting as bad. Suffolk is a dream , in comparison, when we go there.

Today DS1 and family will come here for coffee and cake and Dd will come round this afternoon, after their lunch out. ❤️.

Ash - safe journey tomorrow ?
GM - I hope your Dh is feeling a bit better and your visit will find him cheerier ?.

GG I hope you are feeling on the mend ?

Sar - ?your dh is home safely and ready to tend to your every need ?

Roast lamb this evening!

Hoping you all have a gentle day ???

GrannyGravy13 Sun 27-Mar-22 08:15:37

Morning all

Well it’s going to be a quiet Mothering Sunday here. DD tested positive yesterday, I have exactly the same symptoms but so far my tests are negative, I am assuming that I also have Covid and will test again in a while.

She will still come for lunch here, as we have been mixing all week, including a couple of hours before her positive test. So that’s all of us isolating from the rest of the world until next weekend.

Wishing all Mums a peaceful day full of love, and (((hugs))) to those who for whatever reason are not in contact with their children and who have lost their babies ????

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?
