The weather has turned and the beautiful sunshine of the past week or so has turned to rain and an overcast sky. Yesterday my dear brother was here helping me sort out the spare bedroom which had slowly turned into a junk room!!! It is now going to be called the 'attic' Things that I want to keep but seldom use are now packed neatly in boxes and a cupboard and chest of drawers. I can find anything now instead of having to search for what ever it was. He took everything away I didn't need or want and will dispose of for me. Its such a weight of my shoulders. Today I have a small stack of items which need to be placed in the garden shed so will do that later. I have an old work colleague coming for lunch and my gp ringing this afternoon for a meds review. So a full on day again. It would have been lovely if the sun was out again but the weather won't affect what I'm doing. smile

True, knees can be painful!

Today, a hormonal day- nothing felt ok. It was lovely and sunny though and the dog enjoyed the walk we went on.

I suppose I'll have to add finding someone to ask to that "to do" list.
It's no wonder I'm tired out.

I think I wake up from the op with a pillow but don’t suppose I can take it home. Trying to sleep on my back but not doing very well. Need to practice.
Hope you get your jab soon MissA. My dh has his 4 th last week, I am still too young, ha ha,

MissAdventure Sun 03-Apr-22 18:44:54

I'm sadder still, because I feel I should have had mine, and now I'm peeved! grin

Kim19 Sun 03-Apr-22 18:36:56

Highlight is just having had my Covid booster. How sad is that?!!

MissAdventure Sun 03-Apr-22 18:33:48

Have you a pillow to put between your legs when you sleep, after the op?
Is it even still advised?

silverlining48 Sun 03-Apr-22 18:31:21

Yes not long now, thanks Jennifer. Feeling nervous but it needs doing. Glad you had a nice day out. Fed up and looking forward to life returning to normal as soon as possible.
Hip hop! smile

Not too long before your hip replacement silverlining48
It’s frustrating when movement and walking any distance is curtailed by arthritic pain, so I bet you are counting the days now.
Had Sunday lunch out with some of the family today. The restaurant was packed. The cost of living crisis obviously hasn’t bitten here yet.

Pottering in the garden with my three year old granddaughter, her enthusiasm is wonderful, but I think I might find some nasturtiums coming up in strange places, oh well, I’m sure they’ll be lovely

silverlining48 Sun 03-Apr-22 17:15:23

I have sat on the sofa most of the day with my leg on a cushion. Pretty similar to yesterday and the day before ...as will be tomorrow and the next day so well done those who are busying themselves. It’s much the better way.

MissAdventure Sun 03-Apr-22 17:04:19

I'm half heartedly painting a chest of drawers, and making a pig's ear out of it.
How's that for upcycling?

First thing I made a batch of rock buns..some cherry some cinnamon.. to take to a school allotment working party.
At the allotment I helped to weed some beds & tidy the pathways. The chap who used to keep the allotment organised was a former school caretaker who died . Losing him & his enthusiasm plus the pandemic had caused the allotment to become unusable by the children ( 4-7 yrs) without major tidyup. A great turnout of parents, governors & some teachers & it looks fantastic.
The children will be able to get planting etc straight after Easter.
I came home & did a bit of my own gardening & have just watched the boat race! Will go & prepare a meal for DH & me soon.

It's never too late to do something new...
Knees permitting ?

OnwardandUpward Sat 02-Apr-22 21:52:39

Calistemon21 We have been saying the same for a few months! ( But not getting around to it)

We went to a very happy funeral last week where people wore bright colours and were absolutely packed in, the deceased had lived a colourful and full life. It's helpful when grieving for someone if you feel they lived life to the full, I think. We often said that about my Father in Law, as we were devastated he went so young- but even so he would have hated to become aged or infirm. Before he left this world he was still riding 16 miles on his bike and travelling round the world.

It's never too late to do something new... flowers

I said to DH that we must clear out ....

OnwardandUpward
Her life was very fulfilled, as was the life of the other person whose funeral we went to this week.

But it did make me question what mark I had made on the world

OnwardandUpward Sat 02-Apr-22 20:23:49

Oh Calistelmon21 I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend! sad flowers We went to another funeral last friday.

Today, I worked while questioning my life, and life in general.

Callistemon21 Sat 02-Apr-22 20:14:20

Sorry, perhaps I shouldn't have posted that.
I must be rather maudlin.

Callistemon21 Sat 02-Apr-22 20:11:41

I went to another funeral sad.
The last thing I had said to her was "Don't worry, take it slowly, there's plenty of time".

M0nica Sat 02-Apr-22 19:11:14

Enjoy it!

Witzend Sat 02-Apr-22 11:17:39

?? Lucca - I’m afraid I missed your earlier post, too. Sending all best wishes/vibes. xx

Witzend Sat 02-Apr-22 10:17:49

Apart from going for a walk and cooking the dinner, I shall be getting on with (finally!) finishing my mega stash buster blanket - can’t wait to get it done and posted off.

Only about 2 inches of the 3rd 24 inch section to go, phew.

I might also deadhead all the daffodils that should have been decapitated at least a week ago.
