The weather has turned and the beautiful sunshine of the past week or so has turned to rain and an overcast sky. Yesterday my dear brother was here helping me sort out the spare bedroom which had slowly turned into a junk room!!! It is now going to be called the 'attic' Things that I want to keep but seldom use are now packed neatly in boxes and a cupboard and chest of drawers. I can find anything now instead of having to search for what ever it was. He took everything away I didn't need or want and will dispose of for me. Its such a weight of my shoulders. Today I have a small stack of items which need to be placed in the garden shed so will do that later. I have an old work colleague coming for lunch and my gp ringing this afternoon for a meds review. So a full on day again. It would have been lovely if the sun was out again but the weather won't affect what I'm doing. smile

The sun is shining her on The Wirral and today I am tiding the garden and washing the garden furniture as my friend is coming to stay tomorrow for 3 days.
I will then be sorting fresh bedding & towels for her & book a table for us both at a cute little bistro on the water front by The Mersey looking over to Liverpool we have been friends for over 40yrs so we will be chatting about old memories for sure.
This afternoon I shall take my car to the hand car wash for a spruse up they do a fabulous job on my car it comes out looking brand new & sparkling so quite a busy day for me in total.

I plan on clearing the pond again today it’s muddy and needs sorting. It needs doing quickly before the frogs and toads spawn they haven’t yet. Planting more seedlings and going to the garden centre today. I want to get as much done while the weather is nice. We might get weeks of rain next who knows it’s just nice to be pottering about outside.

merlotgran Tue 29-Mar-22 10:06:42

Not feeling brilliant despite a negative test so I’m going to have a lazy day. I’ll watch the D of E’s memorial service on the telly and then do some pottering or just read.

Haha day 5 of Covid so not a lot!

Sago Tue 29-Mar-22 10:25:38

A little work this morning for an upcoming project next month then more organising l, cleaning and packing as we are going away tomorrow for 13 nights!
It’s the longest we’ve been away for years as we had our late dog to consider.

I have to come home to an immaculate home!

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 29-Mar-22 10:27:46

I’ve made 2 beds and emptied the dish washer and I’m dressed.

That’s it, I’m exhausted. Post Covid blues I guess.

Time for a good book and breakfast, when I can get off the sofa!

henetha Tue 29-Mar-22 10:29:34

I'm still isolating after being in close contact with covid. My test this morning was still negative though. and it's nearly a week now so it looks like I'm in the clear, strangely. I'm puzzled.
I'm going to put the tv on in a minute to watch Prince Philip's memorial service. Breaking my own rules as I don't usually watch tv in the mornings.
It's a dull day here, overcast and cooler.

BBbevan Tue 29-Mar-22 10:42:52

Not to bad here. A bit cooler but the sun is out. Just planted some snowdrops in the green that my DD gave me. DH is cleaning moss off the paths. Then we will probably be indoors for the rest of the day.

GrandmaSeaDragon Tue 29-Mar-22 10:44:15

Our window cleaner has cleaned the windows outside this morning, so I’ve cleaned all the insides and found an incredible amount of dust in hidden corners of the ledges. Yesterday I shampooed the carpets and have to put everything back in place. After coffee in a mo, I am wondering whether to go up to the allotment and plant the seed potatoes before the weather gets worse (grey and drizzly now) or go into town and find some Easter egg hunt treats for the DGC. This afternoon I shall probably fall asleep after all these morning activities while doing some quilting!

Witzend Tue 29-Mar-22 11:09:34

Having lunch with friends we haven’t seen for ages, a longish drive away.
But dh hardly drinks any more, so he’ll be driving. ??

TerriBull Tue 29-Mar-22 11:13:27

Post Covid now so going for a swim to try and build up my energy and then on to do some grocery shopping. We had the last of our sunny days here yesterday, so got a load of washing on the line, having said that not too bad weather wise just a bit cooler.

timetogo2016 Tue 29-Mar-22 11:19:31

Absolutely nothing, well except for cooking dinner.

Luckygirl3 Tue 29-Mar-22 11:20:49

Walk/limp round the common, art class, singing. That'll do for today.

silverlining48 Tue 29-Mar-22 11:54:18

From bed to sofa. Just cancelled visits from friends this /next week as hip is too painful to walk and I won’t be good company.
It’s a grey day which matches my mood.
I hope to be more cheerful tomorrow. Pre op day.

Luckygirl3 Tue 29-Mar-22 12:41:48

Hope some relief will come your way.

silverlining48 Tue 29-Mar-22 12:42:46

That’s kind, thanks Luckygirl

We've got the builders in updating bathrooms, now we've decided to stay rather than downsize we've decided some of the house is looking a bit tired. It's been rather noisy so I'm glad to be out for most of the day. I rode this morning, it was a bit chilly to begin with but I soon warmed up and the horse worked nicely so I was really pleased with him. I'm off to my art class in a minute and when I get back late afternoon I'll take the dog for a quick walk (OH took him for a long one this morning). Hopefully the builders will finish tomorrow and it will be peaceful again.

JenniferEccles Tue 29-Mar-22 13:21:24

Oh yes best of luck with your op silverlining48
It will be such a relief to be out of pain.
I know I keep saying it but it’s such an amazing operation which completely transforms peoples lives.
Keep in touch with your progress!

silverlining48 Tue 29-Mar-22 13:30:28

Thanks Jennifer, operation in 2 weeks now (unless cancelled) and really looking forward to recovering and able to walk pain free
Will definitely keep in touch via the hip hop thread.

Kim19 Tue 29-Mar-22 13:46:05

I've done much rubbish raking from my garden beds on this grey day. I then bagged it all up and drove down to the disposal tip. I'm now basking in virtuosity (if there is such a word!).

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 29-Mar-22 13:54:44

I tested negative this morning! Yippee. After breakfast I popped over the road to give a friend and her husband a card and gift for their golden wedding. I finished off a barmrack (sp) which I had started last night. Bacon sandwich for lunch. In a minute I will listen to two lectures from the V&A on Iconic Houses of the 20th century. Cauliflower and broccoli cheese with sausages for dinner. Zoom meeting with friends this evening - a couple of them still won’t mix. That should be my day.

Sara1954 Tue 29-Mar-22 14:43:18

I’m miserable I’m at home with the worst cold I can ever remember having, I’ve certainly never taken a day off work before because I’ve had a cold.
I’m checking for covid every day, always negative, which is is good, but I feel rotten.
Sorry for the moan, hope you’re all having a nicer day than me!

Hellogirl1 Tue 29-Mar-22 16:03:29

Not doing anything much now, but had a trip to the GP this morning. Wasn`t feeling particularly bright and chipper, but decided to try and look it, so wore a yellow pleated skirt, yellow cardie and yellow and white patterned t-shirt. The GP`s response? "I need sunglasses with all that yellow!"
