It has been bitterly cold here yesterday and today we have had snow, freezing cold to be outside and having to walk with care on icy paths. |Had done some washing but no good putting it out this morning and had more snow showers and cold weather , but made the effort to go to the coffee morning and take a sandwich with me so that I could go on to the begineers Bridge class. It was worth going as it took my mind off the pain, which was a help and it was good to meet a few people. Still absolutely freezing and am wearing my warmest stuff but dont seem to be able to warm up yet. Still got home and have put the towels out as it is a bit breezy and I hate towels dried inside, so even it they ony get an hour they will smell better and be fluffier and cost nothing in electric!! Had to spend over half an hour trying to get my electric meter reading done. Of course they had crashed as usual and as I have changed supplier and altered the rate of power and got a smart meter which typically , when Igloo went bust their smart meter does not work with E.ons!! The flipping government should have insisted on them all using the same kind and it would have saved a load of hassle to say the least. anyway finally got it sorted but just trying not to look at the proposed costs , my pension has not gone up but these prices are just getting impossible and I have no choice it is all electric here.. Oh well time to have a cup of coffee to warm up, and then I will be on masterchef with my cooking tonight!! It is definitely jacket potato weather and I have some good quality sausages and a sweetcorn to enjoy I have every intention to have butter on the potato tonight and horseradish on the sausage. Oh sounds good and warming which is just what I need at the moment. Had another flurry of snow swirling about and so it is definitely wrap up warm and eat some comfort food. Hope you are all keeping warm and safe

Good Morning Thursday 31st March 2022
(44 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark , but looks dry and cold here in brackley this morning.
Today , I need a small shop as I did forget somethings yesterday , whether that will be local or bus to Bicester although weather-wise could be a mixed day .
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning from a sunny, snowy north of Scotland. It was warm enough to sit outside yesterday, what a contrast.
I am trying to clear out a cupboard every day but not succeeding. I’ll need to set up a carrot and stick to motivate me.
GM ? for you. Nothing wrong with eggs on toast, or a toasted sandwich (use a toastie bag) when cooking is unappealing. I do hope your DH is allowed home tomorrow.
To everyone else best wishes. I read every day although I seldom post.
Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny but very cold Carlisle. I'm busy panicking packing. Still dithering over my lunch outfit. The Met forecast says it will be a toasty 8C over the middle of Sunday in London but will it be?! Whether I choose a summer or winter outfit, I'm probably going to look untrendy anyway being a hater of ankle grazers and cropped trousers especially those wide ones as worn by Liz Truss for example. Wasn't there an old saying to the effect that your shoes/feet should invite your trousers down for a party? I heard it a lot when I was young as my legs being proportionally long, I found it difficult to find long enough trousers then.
Urmston, I'm a bit horrified it's April tomorrow. At this rate, we will soon be hearing the dreaded C-------s word.
Well, I'm procrastinating here, must stop it and get to grips with the packing.
Have the best possible day everyone.
Good Morning from a wintery Cambs., We had a sleety/snowfall at 7:30ish, then bright & breezy, now, at 11 am, it's more sleet falling. A "stay-at-home" day, I think.!
Our middle, (of 5), grandchlld , is nearly 13, at a sen school, has been off school all week due to staff off with Covid.
Her parents had a message early Monday morning to say that she couldn't go in for a couple of days, then on Tuesday evening they said it would be all week. Takes a bit of juggling for our DS & DIL to sort their work/childcare out.
Of course it is the Easter break, from next week.
Thinking of all of you who are unwell & caring for your poorly families .
Good morning from a sunny/cloudy windy day with snow flurries, it’s also a very cold Oxfordshire.
MissOops has collected the dog and brought hot sausage rolls with her, so that’s breakfast and lunch sorted.
I might do tomorrows house cleaning today instead of tomorrow, but I might not.
Hope all those with sick family have a better day today.
Have a good day everyone, with hugs for those who aren’t so chipper.
Chrissielou
. For you and your daughter
A very cold, but dry day in Oxfordshire. There have been snow flurries in Oxford this morning. DD1 is feeling relieved to learn that her symptoms yesterday suggest the chemo is targeting the cancer sites, it makes the pain bearable knowing that.
Busy work day again, but sending best wishes to all and thank you and big hugs to those who sent me many lovely pm yesterday. Your support is treasured.
Good morning all from W Kent. Off to my art group this morning, more chat than painting usually!
Yes keep pinging gMattie and hope you get a little snooze at some point.
Good wishes to all.
Good morning everyone from a sunny(ish) but cold south coast.
I have yet to introduce Peggy to the Solent Jax. She’s a country dog and has never seen the sea, let alone a pebble beach!
I must make the effort to tidy my conservatory today as DD’s work commitments mean she will arrive tomorrow evening to stay for a week. It’s more of a greenhouse than a pleasant place to sit and enjoy a ? or ? at the moment as it’s full of seed trays, cuttings and stuff I’m growing on to give to friends and family. DD will tut and roll her eyes ☺️
Hope everyone has a good day. Embrace the ping, grandMattie You need to keep your strength up.
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning everyone from a chilly Northampton. Looks windy out and there are a few sunny spells. Shall have to venture out this afternoon for a ballet class.
But first must have a quick shower, dress, and await a Sainsbury's delivery. Hooray, they have just emailed to say they have everything in the order!
A good afternoon at book club yesterday where we spent about 20 minutes discussing the book, (and found out that only two of us had actually read it!) and the rest of the time putting the world to rights, but mainly complaining mightily about our local surgery. None of us has a good word to say about it. We were soothed by tea and lovely cakes.
Hoping for a better day for all with worries and cares.
Good morning from a cold NE where we had overnight snow.
I haven't slept because I have pain in my left hip and groin and the pain killers didn't help.
Our water supply was off for most of the day yesterday and still just a trickle when I went to bed, seems okay this morning and was able to put the dishwasher on.
Look after yourself grandMattie, I lost ten kilos when DH was ill.
Well done Urms on your weight loss .It's been snowing overnight here and more is forecast .I am out for lunch with friend later so I hope it waits a while .? to all who are having problems at the moment health or otherwise .
Awaiting the arrival of lovely hairdresser to give me a trim, then have the U3A book group here, and this afternoon Lent group. All this counts as a really busy day for me!
Thoughts with grandMattie and the complex arrangements for her DH. I hope all goes well and that she doesn’t exhaust herself, though that is easier said than done.
Glad not to be having Yorkshire weather as the plum trees are full of blossom. Frost at this stage last year meant we had a grand total of about ten plums, so hoping for better this year.
Good morning all from Polmont. -1°, blue skies and a sprinkling of snow. I haven't been on the thread for a few days as family issues have made me a bit low.
Yesterday I picked up dgs1 from nursery and brought him back to my house. The dinosaur play has been firmly rejected for playing trains. The icing on the cake was when he said he had great fun playing at Grandma's house. Today I'm staying in for a tesco delivery. I woke with a headache and it's not disappearing so that will need dealt with. Have a good day all.
Good morning all from the Black country lovely and sunny but heavy frost overnight.
Have only read a couple of posts, sorry to hear your DD has succumbed Ash hope its mild. I shall take a LFT later as its day 5 other than a headache all day at first I've only felt very tired. GM hope the appointment goes well this afternoon and you rest when you can.
Will catch up later I need a cuppa
Take care all and may you all find some ?.
Good morning all. It is a beautiful sunny morning here in our part of the S Welsh coast, with a clear blue sky, a chilly wind though. We have been so lucky to have dry weather as we are having a new roof, a lot still to be done though.
A Tesco delivery later and some baking this afternoon. I will wrap up and go for a walk with the little dog at some point.
Best wishes to everyone, take care.
Good morning from a chilly Black Country but with bright blue sky, albeit a car with a frosty windscreen!
Thursday morning walk today, then a tootle over to Mums for lunch a little walk with her along the Staffordshire railway walk.
No harm in 'ping' meals sometimes when needed grandMattie.
I have realised I have not seen EV posting for a while. Hope she is ok.
Wishing you all the best day possible
Good Morning everyone from Severnside. A sunny dry start so I plan to do some washing today before the price rise.
I was unsuccessful with my plant hunt at the garden centre yesterday. I was very good with myself though and didn’t buy anything else just because or for the sake of spending money.
I was hoping to FaceTime my brother but they have visitors so it’ll have to be another time.
As I’m very late this morning I haven’t read any of your news above so I’ll drink my tea and do that.
Have a good day all ??
Good morning from a chilly but bright Cheshire.
Had a lovely morning out yesterday with DS who took me out for brunch. We are lucky enough to have all family living locally.
Hope all gets sorted quickly today for your DH GrandMattie without too much hanging around.
Matt is on form again Urmstongran.
My DGS swallowed all of his teeth. DGD said can’t wait to be 6 so her teeth can fall out? she’s 3
Good morning Mick and everyone from a cold snowy Hull. The snow and driving sleet woke me through the night and combined with a very loud motorbike riding by every few minutes it wasn’t the best nights sleep.
grandMattie it’s good to hear your DH is settled but you try to get a nap today.
Ashcombe I hope your DD gets through the covid without too much trouble.
We are isolating until tomorrow for DHs hospital procedure. Yesterday we spent most of the morning cleaning and DH loves cleaning. But put our feet up in the afternoon.
Today I think we might pack up and take a flask and have a drive to the coast we won’t get out of the car unless there’s no one around. But it’s a change of scenery.
It’s heavily snowing again ❄️
Take care everyone and hope Thursday brings a moment of joy??
Here’s Matt. Made me chuckle!
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s sunny well that was a surprise. The sky is a baby blue. However it is frosty.
My diabetes prevention class this morning and as Thursdays are my weigh in I have to joyfully tell you all I’ve lost 4lbs this week. I’m beyond happy. Such a positive start. Those summer dresses are winking at me from behind the wardrobe door.
Himself has a F2F appointment with a GP at teatime. I’m not as anxious as I was he seems a bit better to be honest but I’m glad he is going for a check up and bloods - a bit of an MOT.
L’il Miss FaceTime’d us last night to show us the gap where her first baby tooth had fallen out. I asked her if she was going to put it under her pillow but she made us laugh when she said “I can’t grandma because it came out when I was eating my school dinner and I swallowed it but it doesn’t matter, mummy is going to write a little note to tell the tooth fairy. I will write my name at the bottom so she knows it’s from me’.
?
Where are Scentia and Pantglas hiding these days?
Good advice already grandMattie. Lean into the day. Take a book. It is what it is to get your dear man home. Enjoy Thursday everyone. Anyone like me who cannot believe it’s already the last day of March?
