Mine just bleeps - along with the dishwasher and the hob and the oven, microwave and halogen . Then there's our phones, desk tops and occasionally the smoke alarms. DS calls this "The House of Bleeps".

I had a friend whose washing machine greeted her with a cheery "Hello" when she turned it on!

TillyTrotter Tue 12-Apr-22 08:56:50

That is a classy washing machine you have ixion ?

ixion Tue 12-Apr-22 08:45:09

Our washing machine plays a snippet from Fauré's In Paradisum on opening up and shutting down!

TillyTrotter Tue 12-Apr-22 08:41:40

Thanks for kind wishes yesterday, we really are amongst kindly friends here.
Jaxjacky you might test ‘negative’ today? My DH has for the past 2 days (he contracted CV first).
Charleygirl our latest washing machine plays a haunting little tune at the end of each wash - when you finally get the cycle started that you want - at the temp. you want - with the spin speed you - oh glory be, so many choices! !
Your Easter trees sound pretty Shazza , it’s many years since we did one. When we lived in Germany - where decorating at Easter is bigger than here I would say - we hung eggs on garden trees and put garlands on our front doors.
I hope everyone has a bit more oomph today and less in the way of frustrations.
If you and your GS want to come down my way today Grandmabatty there are plenty of big puddles to splash in!

singingnutty Mon 11-Apr-22 23:14:48

Charleygirl I can sympathise with you about trying to work a new washing machine. Mine was installed at the end of last week and although I do not have problems with my sight I found it very difficult to work out how I could do a load of washing that would not take 3 and a half hours. I finally resorted to reading the instruction book (a thing I do not usually do because I think it should be possible to set a programme without resort to that) and managed to wash a load in 1 hour 10 minutes. How DH will ever manage to put a wash on I don't know because he could never manage the previous one, even though it was quite simple. It was a warm slightly breezy day here in the E.Midlands, so the washing dried well.

Grandmabatty I think it shows we have exquisite taste in furniture.

Grandmabatty Mon 11-Apr-22 21:18:52

Brook it is an elephant! I have a collection of them dotted about the house. Charleygirl haha! Definitely my fireplace. Thank you ladies for your kind words. Shazza I have a tree with eggs and rabbits on it in the kitchen. I like celebrating the seasons. I hope Yiayia, Blossoming and JaxJacky feel better soon. Take care kitcheners.

Blossoming Mon 11-Apr-22 20:55:15

Good evening lovely Kitcheners, so many with health worries at the moment. Please forgive me for not commenting on everyone’s news, I can’t keep up at the moment. I’m feeling tired after some intense neurophysio to help my balance and mobility, it’s going to take some serious work to get back to pre lock down levels.

brook2704 Mon 11-Apr-22 20:17:29

Yep Jax let’s hope you’re negative soon too!

ShazzaKanazza Mon 11-Apr-22 19:36:44

Good evening lovely kitcheners. The flowers are lovely Tilly and pleased you are getting better from covid. Grandmabatty your fireplace looks an absolute Easter treat.
I got out our two white table top twig trees and hung colourful eggs on it. Hoping DGS would help he only put one on.

We’ve had our DGS all day. We took him to a lovely park. Now feet up and chilling watching tv and I do think I’ll be asleep soon.

Jaxjacky Mon 11-Apr-22 19:35:24

Hi all, pleased to see you dogs you needed that time ?
That freezer had better behave forever Charley, good luck with the washing machine
I hope you get a neg soon too Tilly I then hope me too, thank you for the flowers, cheering. And your delightful Easter display Gbatty makes me feel quite holidayish.
I’m glad you enjoyed your meal Yia with special company.
I’ve had more energy today, but slightly overdone it,more lie a sneezy cold now, I’ll sleep well.
Enjoy your evening. X

Lovely flowers tilly and grandmab. Good to see you dogsmakemesmile.

Guess two appointments are better than none soop. Easily sorted, I hope smile.

Good luck with the washing machine charley. Pleased the freezer has been fixed.

Frustrating day here. Nothing straightforward. Oh well, we got there and it’s time for feet up now. There’s a glass of the weekends dry white left with my name on it. Look after yourselves. TOYA.

Bellanonna Mon 11-Apr-22 19:20:38

Tilly get covid negative soon. Charley I’m glad you were able to keep your freezer. Good luck with the washing machine instructions. I share your frustrations,

Charleygirl5 Mon 11-Apr-22 18:46:09

Grandmabatty are you sure you have not "borrowed" my fire? I do not have a mantlepiece but yours are a really good match.

My new washing machine was delivered today and getting it to work was a nightmare, not having a degree in electrical engineering and also, being partially sighted I did not see the fingertip control and nor could I read it. The instruction manual could have been written in a foreign language. Oh dear.

Apparently it prefers a liquid detergent.

The fitters, who know me well have fixed my freezer so after a visit from an electrician tomorrow I am going out to buy a few goodies for it.
TOYA

Good to see you back with us dogsmakemesmile, we’ve missed you too

I’ve had a really good day today - I’ve even had a bit of grandmabattys mojo and energy! A thorough deep clean of the utility room this morning - skirtings, windows, cupboards etc and then I spent the afternoon in the garden digging and weeding. I’ve flopped now and DH is in the kitchen making us something to eat - he’s so good like that

Hope you get sorted for your boosters soop and it’s not too far away to travel, lovely that you can help Mr Soop a little bit too

Thank you for the lovely flowers Tilly - looking gorgeous in the kitchen. Here’s hoping it’s not too long now until you’re testing negative and fully recovered

A beautiful Easter fireplace grandmabatty looks so lovely with the yellow spring colours - is that a cute little elephant too?

Your evening out sounds delightful Yia and good news about your friend

Yiayia4 Mon 11-Apr-22 17:05:08

Afternoon Kitcheners beautiful flowers and Easter decs today.I hope all of you with covid are starting to feel better and Hellogirl for your daughter?
My friend was 70 earlier this year and on Saturday we all managed to celebrate with her.She has had such a rough year with cancer, so it was a treat to see her looking well and enjoying herself. The venue was at a pub on the river thames lovely views and lights twinkling on the river.Trouble is I’m washed out after a night out but it was worth it,a great time was had.?
Take care all have a pleasant evening.

soop Mon 11-Apr-22 16:29:40

Shazza Your recipe has made me drool. I would love a heaped dish full. wink

Sorry to hear that more Granspals have Covid to combat. We had one letter advising us to attend for the second booster jag on Easter Saturday in Campbeltown. Today, we were told to go to the next village on the following Tuesday for the same thing. It appears that there has been a "mix-up".

The painting was never going to go the way I wished. I know within an hour whether or not it will be worth continuing with it. I have a second option sketched. Tomorrow...is another day...I shall do very much better. wink

Away to help Mr Soop. All of you, please take very good care of yourselves. Why? Because you are special. smile moon

soop Mon 11-Apr-22 16:20:54

Lovely photos, Tilly and Grandmabatty. Thank you.

soop Mon 11-Apr-22 14:57:37

A warm welcome back to our Dogsmakemesmile. Lovely to have you with us again.

*Mr Soop^ has needed assistance with phoning/emailing and other stuff needing decent eyesight. Therefore, I'm running late. I am also doing my best to apply the first wash to a new portrait. I intend returning before the afternoon is over and done with.

TillyTrotter Mon 11-Apr-22 13:49:09

Thank you ?

Grandmabatty Mon 11-Apr-22 12:51:41

Aw, thank you Tillytrotter. I hope you feel better soon and test negative even sooner!

TillyTrotter Mon 11-Apr-22 12:47:33

Oh I love your Easter fireplace Grandmabatty . The colours are so bright, a feast for the eyes.
I don’t mind an ear-less bunny biscuit - it it’s one of your homemade I know it will taste yummy. ?

Grandmabatty Mon 11-Apr-22 12:08:41

Beautiful flowers Tillytrotter I've added a photo of my Easter fireplace. This morning I've made lemon cupcakes and biscuits in the shape of carrots, lambs and bunnies. The biscuits are a bit crooked and some of the bunnies lack ears, however I don't imagine dgs1 will care! Icing them this afternoon, after a nap. Have a good afternoon kitcheners.

TillyTrotter Mon 11-Apr-22 11:16:30

Calling in with some flowers for the kitchen to welcome new Kitcheners, and a bit welcome back to old friends like Dogs. I hope this new week is kind to us all.
I am (still) CV19 Positive after 7 days but getting better.

MawtheMerrier Mon 11-Apr-22 09:40:47
