Welcome to the kitchen Mine, we`re a friendly lot in here, and Soop is the bestest hostess ever!
A pity about the beautiful Persian CharleyG, you and her would have gelled perfectly. Wouldn`t you consider a cattery if you were to go away? We found a belter near to my daughter`s house, cheaper than some of the ones in and around town, but still absolutely spotless, you could eat your dinner off their floors. Billy is perfect, by the way, but I wish he would desist from practically destroying the cat litter tray during the night!
Soop, thrilled to hear that Sweetie Pie has returned. I know your village is small to walk about, but I hope you don`t actually walk to the village? It`s quite a stretch if you`re not quite as fit as you should be. Drive there Mrs!
Kitty, look after that knee.
TOYA xx

TillyTrotter that young lady is extremely comfortable and looks as though she has been there for at least 10 hours. I hope the house is warm enough for her!

soop delighted to hear that minx has returned to fill her tum. When the weather is warmer she will venture indoors.

Grandmabatty that brunch sounds superb- I would just have had the smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and trimmings and loads of coffee. That is the way to dine.

I am going to apply my technical knowledge of zilch and attempt to get the freezer working again. All the innards are sparklingly clean, ready to be filled.

The rubber innards of my washing machine need to be replaced also so another one bites the dust as Freddie Mercury would have said.

corner much as I love the look of that Persian cat, no is the answer because there is nobody to take care of her in my absence, temporary or permanent. She would also need a lot of grooming.
TOYA

Yep, I have got abs!!

Grandmabatty Fri 08-Apr-22 18:34:30

Oh Kitty you are having a rotten time. Lots of hugs to you. Have you got antibiotics for it? Take care. ?

cornergran Fri 08-Apr-22 17:59:46

Goodness it’s a busy Kitchen. Before I forget (Memory not Provided today grin) , welcome Mine to this kind place.

Are you tempted by that cat charley, she couldn’t wish for a better home.

So pleased about your progress, soop. Slowly does it though. I can imagine the huge smiles when sweetiepie visited.

Ouch kitty, that doesn’t sound fun. Time to rest and recover.

We’ve had a decent day. I caught up with tedious admin this morning. This afternoon a pleasant visit to a garden centre. Then on to collect some Lego for our Littlest from a lady selling sets outgrown by her family. The price was more than reasonable so very happy with that. One set will keep the tornado quiet for a bit next time he visits, well keep two in reserve. With luck there will be a visit next week when he’s due for a very rare sleepover. I don’t dare get excited yet, just in case.

Wishing all poorly folk a speedy recovery. TOYA.

Rest it up and keep an eye on it kitty - the size of the area which is hot/red/swollen or weeping.
I have no medical training and hope you are getting some proper advice?

kittylester Fri 08-Apr-22 17:28:08

Presumably Tilly but not knowingly.

We have 3 cats - none of them are lap cats. And we Re quite ni e to them, feed them and change the litter regularly etc. I call it ungrateful!!grin

brook2704 Fri 08-Apr-22 17:25:12

Thats great news about SweetiePie Soop ?
Blummin heck kitty that’s all you need .. what’s happened to your knee???

TillyTrotter Fri 08-Apr-22 16:56:24

Mine will kitty . Anyone who is prepared to sit still.
Sorry to hear about your knee, have you gashed it?

kittylester Fri 08-Apr-22 16:54:54

Just popping in feeling really sorry for myself. I have an infected knee and feel rubbish. But the kitchen is so cosy that I am going to sit over there with my heated blanket and watch the goings on.

Welcome Mine.

Er any spare cats want to sit on my warm lap?

Grandmajean Fri 08-Apr-22 16:46:09

Soop I've been waiting to hear that Sweetie Pie has returned ! Always delighted when missing animals come "home"
You have so much just now that is good in your life. Really pleased for you.

brook2704 Fri 08-Apr-22 16:20:36

Lovely picture Tilly thanks for sharing.. Fingers crossed that you, Jax and nanna8, will all be covid free very soon …and no lingering symptoms. Hoping kitty is feeling much better soon too

soop Fri 08-Apr-22 16:18:22

Tilly Awwww!

soop Fri 08-Apr-22 16:17:33

Guess who has come to call and tuck into a hearty meal. Correct. Sweetie Pie the feral cat, has returned after a three week absence. Are we chuffed? You bet.

The sun is shining in bonnie Kintyre. We did manage a stroll through the village earlier today. It is a small village but the folk who live in it are very big-hearted. Stopping for a "blether" is a treat.

On Monday I hope that the mount and backing for the pet portrait will be delivered. If so, I shall photograph and mount the painting for your hoped for approval. wink

Grandmabatty Your brunch sounds more like a banquet.

I do take heed when you lot advise me not to do too much. However, it is getting back to the usual tasks aboot the hoos (in a gentle fashion) that is helping me to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. wink

Mr Soop has been cutting the lawn. He's about to return for his afternoon brew.

Trusting our poorly grans are on the road to recovery. At 8:30 I shall raise a G&T to all of you. Thank you for your company. Until we meet again. smile moon

Little cat slumbering

TillyTrotter Fri 08-Apr-22 16:04:14

Grandmabatty and brook I am living vicariously through your activities.
You are both seizing the day and having a good one.
Thank you for sharing what you are doing. It all sounds fun.
I am sitting with the sun on my back (still incarcerated) indoors with my little cat at my side.
Perhaps we will be negative and free by Sunday ……. ? ?

gillgran Fri 08-Apr-22 15:57:14

Pleased to hear that you are making such good progress, soop, try not to overdo things now that you are feeling so much better.

We've been away for a couple of days, (so no internet), opening up our little home-from-home on the N W Norfolk coast. Yesterday we stayed inside, I think the phrase is "weather not fit for man nor beast"!! We are right on the seafront, facing the sea, therefore the W/NW winds were blowing right from the North sea! At high tide we had huge bits of sea-foam all over our site. Hopefully we'll have better weather for future visits.

Thinking of you all in soop's welcoming, warm & friendly kitchen.

Jaxjacky Fri 08-Apr-22 15:52:13

Your white goods remind me of a Disney animation Charleygirl all colluding, you need to have words!
Welcome to the kitchen Mine a safe haven.
I too am feeling a bit better today, a good nights sleep helped, now working out when to re-test, I think, ever the optimist, Monday.

brook2704 Fri 08-Apr-22 15:37:59

Hi ? to you mine I hope you enjoy Gransnet and stay with us on this lovely thread

Oh charleygirl I hope nothing else decides to quit and you get your washing machine and freezer working again soon - if they both need replacing - ouch! Such bad luck that they break at the same time ?

I’m having a relaxing Friday afternoon with a cuppa and one of those tasty almond fingers. I’ve been to the gym and had a splash around in the pool and a soak in the jacuzzi - so warm and comforting after awful weather again here today. DH is cleaning numerous sweet wrappers out the car and general debris that sits underneath two childrens car seats! We’re trading it in tomorrow at the garage for a newer model so it won’t took quite so bad. Just about time I think as it’s recently developed a squeak and a rattle in addition to its usual rumblings…

My goodness grandmabatty what a lovely brunch you’ve had and a special catch up with your friend - very well deserved though and it’s good to hear you’re having a peaceful afternoon - let us know what you’re knitting!

Grandmabatty Fri 08-Apr-22 15:15:27

Good afternoon kitcheners. I have had a lovely brunch of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon with bagels and toast. Then brioche with cherry jam. Fresh orange juice and lots of coffee too. All made for me by my oldest friend and her partner. We blethered for two hours too. I'm home now and watching telly while knitting. Charleygirl I hope the washing machine is fixed. Soop how is your dog portrait going? Mine welcome to the kitchen. It's a lovely, gentle place to talk about what we get up to, both big and small. Everyone supports everyone else.

Charleygirl5 Fri 08-Apr-22 15:08:03

soop I hope Mr Soop has hidden the iron and board because you need to relax finishing off the painting and enjoy the odd cup of coffee with a non-calorific cake.

The wind was so awful yesterday that I ended up bringing my small food bin indoors before it took wings and flew.

Hellogirl there is a large gorgeous Persian aged I think 7 years in my local cattery. She was reserved but for whatever reason, no longer. She is an indoor cat apparently although the cattery is looking for an enclosed garden like mine. She would have a new item around her waist if she attempted my cat flap- she is too fat to negotiate it without a lot of damage to my property!

Is Billy behaving?

Mine you will discover that many of us really care about animals and from time to time you will see gorgeous photos, mainly of cats but there are some handsome dogs also. Welcome- I almost forgot my manners.

Another post you may like to follow is Good Morning. Like this one, no snipes or venom.
