Grandmabatty ?
And now you have morning snuggles to look forward to. ?

Dogsmakemesmile Sat 14-May-22 20:56:30

I'll keep my voice down Grandmabatty...
Scones (apricot, cheese and my raspberry and white chocolate specials) aplenty over there . Help yourselves.
Working today so tired after shift but worked alongside the most fantastic colleagues. Ddog and DH ran the house.
Goodnight all.x

Grannmarie Sat 14-May-22 21:28:53

Thank you all for your good wishes for tomorrow's Loch Lomond overnight, DH'S birthday is lasting longer than a Highland wedding!

The wee boy is loving his special sleepover, Grandmabatty, you're creating lovely memories. ?

Great news about your son's job, Cornergran, such a relief!

Well done to Shazza , Jax and all the gardeners, you've been working hard, your planting sounds brilliant. My garden is small and low maintenance but I like my tubs and hanging baskets, I planted alyssum and trailing lobelia around my conifer tubs today, and my Forest Flames are lovely just now. Lavender, lupins and lilies are nice and green, but won't flower for a while yet. My winter pansies and primula are still flowering but the Christmas roses are now past, they flowered well until March/April. All well watered before we go away tomorrow afternoon.

Shazza, I've now got my feet up in front of Eurovision, and nice sauvignon blanc in the wine chiller, you are very welcome to 'escape' and join me!??

TOYA, NNGB ? ?

Jaxjacky Sat 14-May-22 21:32:00

Cheese scone will go down nicely thank you Dogsmakemesmile, yum.

Charleygirl5 Sat 14-May-22 22:39:46

Yia that is really good news about the surgery being so successful.

cornergran that is such a relief if your son has a new job he will hopefully enjoy. He will be walking on air at present. I hope he does not start for a few days so he can have some rest and relax without having the thought of job hunting hanging over him.

grandmabatty it is lovely to hear the simple pleasures in life are a grown-up bed with a dinosaur duvet cover.

Blossoming Sat 14-May-22 23:38:18

Good evening and good night dear Kitcheners. It’s been a glorious sunny day here and we’ve spent most of it outside. I’m tucked up in bed now feeling warm and sleepy, just wanted to check if Mr Yiayia had had a successful op and I see that the news is good!

Lots more to celebrate in here, great news for your sonn Cornergran.

My fingers can’t type anymotr but I’m struggling to read, so I’m logging off now

Nannytopsy Sun 15-May-22 07:11:05

Is he awake yet GrandmaB ? I hope you both had a great night. Good news about Mr Yia and best wishes to MrSoop too.
I am very behind with my planting and we go away next Saturday. My runner beans and lovely sweet peas have bolted and starved in their pots. The bed they were meant for still needs weeding as it’s full of bindweed. Knee and hip causing lots of problems. And today is DH’s birthday with a BBQ here for DS etc, as it was his birthday yesterday.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Grandmabatty Sun 15-May-22 08:03:04

He's been up since seven Nannytopsy. I've been awake since six. The wee scone never stirred all night. We are playing with trains and I've averted demands to play in the garden and have an ice lolly already. This grandma isn't quite a pushover!

Chocolatelovinggran Sun 15-May-22 08:40:52

My little one year old GS is here with his mummy and daddy, and is still asleep! His father was awake at 5 at the same age ....

brook2704 Sun 15-May-22 09:16:40

Happy Birthday to your DH nannytopsy and yesterday for your DS too - enjoy your family get together and BBQ today!
Aww how cute grandmabatty always lovely to have a sleepover especially when they sleep so well ?
chocolateloving enjoy your little DGS too!
Lovely and sunny here so the washer is on, I’m just having tea and toast and then I’m off out into the garden … catch up later

soop Sun 15-May-22 12:38:08

Dear you lovely lot, we've been blethering on the phone with middle son who is arranging stuff in advance of our big family gathering in August. It is going to be a full house and promises to be an event we shall never forget. grin

Getting ready to go into Campbeltown for Mr Soop's Covid test. After which, he's in isolation until the cataract surgery mid-week.

When we return home, I shall catch up with all your messages. Until later. smile

Grandmabatty Sun 15-May-22 12:44:42

Dgs1 is away with mum and dad who had a lovely child free evening and breakfast. We have had a lovely time. Breakfast ended up being pancakes with chocolate spread, strawberries and melon. Then we went for a walk and he played in the garden on our return before the rain started. I even managed to do a wash and make a slow cooker casserole. I've made the mistake of sitting down! Have a lovely Sunday kitcheners.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 15-May-22 14:44:25

Hello everyone. I had such a good weekend with son, his partner and my granddaughter. She is six years old and a delight. They went back to London this morning. It is Oxford Arts Week at the moment so I took her to a local pottery yesterday. Her favourite thing was a beautiful (real) black cat which was wandering round the garden. The pottery had a magnifying glass so granddaughter enjoyed examining all the pots. I bought a lovely little pot and a jar of honey. After a weekend of cooking I think OH is making bangers and mash tonight.

soop Sun 15-May-22 16:15:44

Grandmabatty The sight of your dear grandson, sleeping soundly in his new bed, snuggled beneath his dinosaur duvet, will remain a very special memory.

Hellogirl1 We said hello to David en route to Campbeltown. Mr Soop is now isolating in readiness for his cataract removals. I purchased a book in Tesco. I shall be needing something to occupy my mind during his procedure. We'll be going to the new Queen Elizabeth hospital in Glasgow.

Grannmarie I hope that the sun is shining on Loch Lomond. No matter, you are bound to enjoy a lovely birthday treat for your husband.

Bravo! cornergran I am happy for you and especially for your son.
Thank you for sharing the delightful photographs.

Shazza hmm The trying on of clothing to take away on holiday...I am hoping that my waistline reduces just a tad in time for when I make my selection in advance of the family get-together. Wishful thinking, springs to mind. wink

soop Sun 15-May-22 16:25:06

Ladyleftfieldlover I have a passion for pottery. Cannot resist interesting jugs and bowls. I've far too many and hope that one day, when "I pass," family will be happy to find space for some of my favourite pieces.

I am doing the weekly wash. Well, the machine is. Any time soon I shall need to hang stuff to dry. We have a pully-thingy in the utility room. It hangs above the boiler. Very useful it is too.

I have every intention of joining you all in our kitchen tomorrow. Tonight...one of our favourite tv dramas - 'Sherlock'. That, together with a glass of smooth red wine. A proper treat. smile moon

brook2704 Sun 15-May-22 16:43:41

Enjoy your wine soop I’ll be joining you with one later? we’ve also got one of those pulley clothes driers in the utility room. Hangs above our boiler too. I really wanted to get rid of it when we had our utility room done up a few months ago but it’s so useful I couldn’t bring myself to throw it away so it’s staying put for now!
I’ve been busying myself in the garden all day, can always find something to do of course. Mowed the front and back grass, loads of weeding, emptied and washed out pots where tulips had finished, dug up and moved a few plants around etc etc … I’m a bit tired and dusty now so going for a shower and the loungewear will go on!
Sounds like you’ve had a lovely family weekend ladyleftfield enjoy your bangers and mash - I’ve not had that for ages but really fancy it now!

Blossoming Sun 15-May-22 17:35:20

Good evening desr Kitcheners. Happy Birthday to your OH NannyTopsy. You have all been busy and I have been rather lazy! Though I have sorted the laundry ready for washing tomorrow and that count as housework, right?

Another day spent out of doors in the sunshine, enjoying the dragon boat racing That must count as exercise, and I will do my physio shortly.

Mr. B is making a healthier version of fish and chips tonight. Done in the Ninja and fat free but still very tasty. Some steamed veg to go with them. Then I will be norty and have some mayonnaise, but it will be the low fat one!

Have a lovely evening all.

Grandmabatty Sun 15-May-22 17:40:55

I had a not unexpected nap this afternoon. You are right Soop. Watching him sleep was magical. We also laughed together at silly things. Blossoming that looks like fun. Brook I feel very lazy listening to your day! I have pancake batter left so I'm going to make Yorkshire pudding to go with my beef casserole. Then I have a chocolate trifle for after. Have a good evening Kitcheners.

Pantglas2 Sun 15-May-22 17:51:28

Hola Soop and all from sunny Espana - just popping in with some pudding, Mango and Strawberry Crumble wot I rustled up cos they were so cheap in the market yesterday ?

Mr PG went totally European with Greek yogurt on his while I had vanilla ice cream melting all over mine so take your pick or custard might be your thing....? aprovecha!

Jaxjacky Sun 15-May-22 18:34:33

Hi all, I missed your good news corner you must feel reassured, well done your son.
That looks like great entertainment Blossoming a few dunkings I’m sure!
Family are best Ladyleftfieldlover bangers and mash for us one night this week.
We’ve had rain for most of the day, much needed, and we’re doing nomowmay so not to worried about the grass. A lazy day has ensued
The sun is peeking through even though we’re on yellow alert for storms tonight. Beef and veg curry in the slow cooker, an easy dinner.
Have a pleasant evening all x

ShazzaKanazza Sun 15-May-22 18:56:23

Good evening lovely Kitcheners. We are due for rain any time now and through the night which will be welcome. DH has been planting out again.
Nannytopsy hope you’ve had a lovely gathering for your DHs birthday and bbq.
Grandmabatty it sounds like you had a wonderful time with your DGS we’ve not had a sleepover with our little ones for a long time. DGD likes to sleep in the bed with me but I’m telling you she is not a good bedfellow as she throws herself around the bed in her sleep and DGS can get up at 3 in the morning at ours due to excitement.

ShazzaKanazza Sun 15-May-22 19:01:23

Sorry hit the button too early by mistake lol.
Your beef curry sounds gorgeous Jax.

Your mango and strawberry crumble sounds heavenly Pantglas I’d have mind with ice cream too.

All your activities sound great everyone with family, outings and lovely food. Enjoy your evening. X

brook2704 Sun 15-May-22 19:50:13

Oooh muchas gracias Pantglas that really hit the spot and soooo delicious!
I’d not heard about nomowmay Jax but just looked it up! A good idea but a bit late for us this year - maybe next!

Urmstongran Sun 15-May-22 20:47:18

‘Evening All’.

Looks as though we might get rain soon. It’s warm though still even with the window open. Blossoming what a lovely photo! That event looked fun and you had glorious sunshine to enjoy it in. Just perfect I imagine.

I like the sound of ‘nomowmay’ Jax. I don’t have a garden anymore but it appeals very much to my nature, yet with an altruistic reasoning to back it up. Win-win.
#lazygran

soop Mon 16-May-22 12:33:55

Pantglas2 The pudding is far too delicious to resist. I shall have Greek yogurt with mine.

It's unfair of you lovely lot to tempt with with your talk of bangers and mash, Yorkshire pudding, fish and chips and more besides. I am about to have a low calorie lunch. hmm. after which, I have to knuckle down, clean the house and do lots of ironing. All because we have an appointment to keep at the Queen Elizabeth hospital.

You realise that we are fast approaching the time when a new kitchen will need opening. When the time arrives, should I be otherwise engaged, please will one of our Kitcheners do the honours. I may be absent. I do not have a laptop. It would worry me greatly to think that the kitchen was closed...even for a day.

I shall be back later this afternoon. That is a promise. smile
