Thank you GrandmaBatty, I shall consign it to the dustbin of history.where it belongs. It’s been quite bright here but so chilly with strong gusts. I ventured out for a short walk, but after nearly being blown off my feet twice I turned tail and headed for home! Mr. B did a supermarket shop this morning and we’re well stocked up with porridge, milk, pasta, etc. so we can relax at home over Easter. We’ll be seeing family on Easter Day.

Kitty you do seem to be in the wars lately, hope you are on the mend.

Urmstongran Wed 06-Apr-22 19:28:56

‘Evening All’

We’ve had a lovely day. Went to watch the junior school concert for Easter that the Boy Wonder was in. The joy and enthusiasm of the children singing their songs and performing was lovely.

The Head teacher said it’s wonderful to be ‘back to normal’ after two years. No masks were asked for. No taped off chairs in the audience. No teachers wore masks. It was most heartening. A delight really. It really lifted everyone’s spirits.

You sound like you’re having a delightful time Sue with a house full, you too earlier with your grandchildren Grandmabatty.
Daughter’s x ray is being reviewed again on Friday, can’t be that urgent then! Her foot is now hues of blue and purple.
After a rough night with a -ve test this morning I’ve now tested +ve, I’m not surprised. I’ve been taking paracetamol all day and hope for a better nights sleep, looming headache, cough and slight temperature are the main symptoms, so out with the Vick tonight on temples and feet.
There are some bored, sad people Blossoming you have the right attitude ?.
Have a pleasant evening all x

Grandmabatty Wed 06-Apr-22 19:45:06

That's rotten JaxJacky. Get well soon ?

brook2704 Wed 06-Apr-22 19:45:34

Lovely to see everyone in the kitchen again this evening and it’s good to hear that the visit to your Mum was ok today grandmabatty
Phew I bet that was a relief once your DGD was safely out of the bathroom shelflife
We’ve had a lovely day with the DGC and now they’re both safely back home with their mum and dad.
Yes we were lucky soop they both slept in until after 7am and then little footsteps were making their way into our bedroom … they were asking for the TV to be put on and cuddles - in that order!
The day has flown by but we’ve just settled down now with the regular Charlie Bigham chicken curry and a glass of wine - just what’s needed!

brook2704 Wed 06-Apr-22 19:47:37

Oh no Jax hope you’re feeling much better soon - take it easy and try to get some rest, you always do so much for others so time to look after yourself for a little bit now ?

SueDonim Wed 06-Apr-22 19:59:49

flowers Jax. I hope you’re over the dreaded virus soon.

Grannmarie Wed 06-Apr-22 20:00:46

Aww, Jaxjacky, so sorry to hear that, hoping and praying that your symptoms are mild and that you recover quickly and completely. ? ?

I've just dropped off homemade tomato soup and crusty bread on the doorstep of DS3 and lovely girlfriend, they both have Covid.

DGS2, wee covid warrior in the space boot, has now tested negative after 7 days, but his Mummy tested positive today and his Daddy, DS2, is on day 4 so they can't take him out.

Good to hear of so many enjoying time with grandchildren.

Blossoming ?

TOYA, NNGB. ?

ShazzaKanazza Wed 06-Apr-22 20:13:32

Sorry you hear you are feeling so rubbish JaxJacky. Drink lots of fluids. Hope you have a good nights sleep?

soop Thu 07-Apr-22 11:29:53

Hellogirl It is the wetting of the portrait and adding the palest of "washes" which give me the light and dark areas around which to build up the depth of colour that will ultimately be a pleasing (or not) outcome. wink

Shelflife Your granddaughter's sensible comment about not being able to remain in the bathroom all day, put a huge grin on my face.

GrandmaBatty Your day sounded a mixture of lots of happy-making events. your homemade pizza would make a very tasty lunch. Any way of getting it to me?

NannyTopsy Don't overdo things. You are, however, a star.

soop Thu 07-Apr-22 11:38:50

Urms It is lovely to hear you sounding well-upbeat. smile

Jax* What a buggeration. I hope that you manage to keep the wretched virus at a manageable level. We know of many people who are going through the headache/sore throat/ phase but, have so far not become bed-bound.

We have just received a letter confirming an appointment for a fourth booster vaccine in a week or so. It makes good sense to keep abreast of things.

Back to the so-called "art studio". I shall return later today.

TillyTrotter Thu 07-Apr-22 11:39:16

It’s great to hear your enthusiasm for your craft and for life soop ?
Just popping in with bright yellow trumpet daffodils to cheer us all. I am down with Covid - 3 days in - and need the cheer ?
although knowing there are many Grans with far worse to bear.
Fond thoughts to you all.

soop Thu 07-Apr-22 11:43:04

brook grin grin grin

Blossoming I feel your excitement. Have you a store of chocolate Easter eggs? I like the very wee ones with a sticky centre.

muse Thu 07-Apr-22 12:00:13

Hello kitcheners. Lots of Cornish sun today but a bitter cold wind. I'm cocooned inside except for venturing out for a walk with Mya now and then or a visit to the polytunnel to how the little seedlings are doing.

Lovely to see newcomers in the kitchen and I agree about the buggerations soop with more and more kitcheners and their families having covid. Do hope all symptoms disappear soon for you all. Those daffs are glorious Tilly and hope you test +ive very soon. Your turn to be looked after Jax.

MrM and myself are doing our best to carry on with our build. The electrician is now in doing wondrous things. We are need occasionally to guide him in the right direction with what is required but keep our distance. We go away on the 25th for a very much needed break - so we are very vary.

BlueBalou Thu 07-Apr-22 12:53:34

Hello, please can I have a bit of virtual respite , please don’t tell ‘D’H I am here......? I’m masked and sitting outside!

I have Covid, now he does too and ‘it’s all your fault’ Actually no, we were both at the same funeral, sitting with a lady who we didn’t know but who tested positive that evening. I just happen to have tested while you scoffed at me taking myself to bed ?
Hennyway (as DGS1 says ?) it’s lovely catching up with everyone’s news, a true haven of peace.

How lovely to hear about baby William, I love babies.
I am so happy that things are going well for you soop, here’s to a wonderful summer for you both.
Pondering on maybe, perhaps, looking at buying a holiday lodge........ any advice oh wise ones?
??☕️??

TillyTrotter I have a great liking for the trumpet daffodils. The display together with the coral roses is perfect.

Yet more Kitcheners with the dreaded lurgy. I am sorry to hear that after so long being free from the virus, many of you lot have succumbed. Thank goodness none of you are proper poorly. Just rest and recover and permit yourselves to be pampered in the meantime. flowers

The sun is shining brightly. The waves are white-capped. Still no visit from Sweetie Pie.

I am expecting a telephone call from the stoma nurse I saw about a month ago in Glasgow. I have good news to share with her. The ulcer is perfectly healed and I am feeling very well. No way would I wish to return to the situation of serious drop-bot and all the misery it entailed. smile

Well, isn’t that just the very best thing I’ve read today on GN! I am so happy for you, Soop. ❤️❤️❤️

Ds2 has been up in our attic, ‘helping’ us decluttering it. His idea is to hurl stuff down at us so fast that it’s now just piled up everywhere and there’s dust and dirt and bits of tinsel and glitter from Xmas decs everywhere. ?. Oh well, sitting here on GN won’t get it done so I’d better move my bod and get going!

Baggs Thu 07-Apr-22 15:17:58

Such good news on the drop bot front (or do I mean behind? wink ), soop. Glad to hear it ❤️

TillyTrotter Thu 07-Apr-22 15:26:29

Brilliant news soop . I think you have been a model patient ? Well Done.
All you need is a visit from Sweetie Pie just to show you she is ok.

kittylester Thu 07-Apr-22 15:31:17

From what soop said there is neither a front nor a behind in the drop bot situation nowgrin which is brilliant news.

Sorry for all the virus sufferers - it's not much fun is it?

Nannytopsy Thu 07-Apr-22 15:41:25

Great news soop! I am so pleased for you.
It’s blowing an absolute hooly down here in Suffolk - a yellow weather warning even. The plant pots I collected up and stored have escaped all over the garden again but its too windy to go out there. Tomorrow should be calmer.
I took cocodamol a couple of hours ago and now I am nodding off! ?

Yiayia4 Thu 07-Apr-22 15:42:59

Get well soon Jax rest and be waited on.?
Good to see you in the kitchen Muse, enjoy that well earned holiday?
Just had my hair cut and coloured. It’s a big change I think I like it!!

Charleygirl5 Thu 07-Apr-22 16:14:55

I have licked my wounds, told myself not to be so sensitive when called rude, abusive and writing dangerous misinformation. Thank you everybody for being so kind.

I was out for coffee today with friends then had the crazy idea I would do a shop in Lidl. Only one area where trolleys are parked, car not close by and with that howling wind I had visions of my food flying away.

Decided to pick up my parcel from Amazon in a small shop. I use a walking stick, was given 2 parcels and one weighed a ton. I shuffled back to my car crossing a very busy road but managed not to drop anything. Never so pleased to see my house, get everything unpacked and make a cup of coffee.

Amazon delivered yesterday but not to me. I was in all day, my doorbell never rang but he at least delivered it next door. I intend to put a note outside stating my expensive doorbell does work.

soop Thu 07-Apr-22 16:31:33

A WARM welcome back to (where you belong) Charleygirl.

Lovely to have you visit Baggs. Did you bake flapjacks for us lot to drool over? wink

The stoma nurse is totally delighted. She will call again in a few weeks time and, when we visit Ross Hall in September, she will fit me in to her clinic. I am chuffed. Why not. grin

The portrait is progressing handsomely. I have ordered the backing and mount. You will be able to view the result early next week.

Yes, it is also blowing a hooly hereabouts. Having said that, it is cosy indoors.

Please continue to look after yourselves. No faffin' with housework if you can avoid doing so.

Back with you again tomorrow. smile moon
