On our latest incoming call about our ‘recent accident’ I said my usual “Oh yes, the fatal one? That was terrible.” At that point the caller interrupted and said exasperatedly “Are you now going to tell me you were the one who died?” I said “yes, you heard?” and put down the phone.
Great to realise there must be many of us giving them a hard time.

I came in on the tail end of the programme. The older gentleman (Douglas) had a priceless way of dealing with the scammers. Last week, when I had an obviously fake call, the caller said, 'Can you hear me?' I answered, 'No'. 'Can you hear me? (louder). Me: 'No'. After several attempts to make me hear, the penny finally dropped and he gave up.
