Good morning Mick and all from a mixed up weather wise northwest coast. Just had hailstones, now sun…
Waiting for friendly Botox filler man to ‘refresh’ me so have the kettle on and the biscuits. Tea biscuits which I hate and keep for visitors. This cunning plan means I always have a biscuit in the house.
Rehearsal yesterday and we need a new guitarist as present one is going to take care of his ailing wife. I’ve put in for a young handsome one.
GD and DS coming on Sunday so food to get in for that, must try my new songs.
Thoughts to anyone with troubles.

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s cloudy in my corner of Lancashire this morning, currently 8°C. The sun keeps putting in an appearance, hoping it will stay fine so I can finish the laundry.

Enjoy your trip out Mick.

Hope you continue to test negative Marydoll, will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Congratulations to Iris Grandmattie.

Good to see the chamberpot putting in an appearance Pantglas.

Thinking of all our grans going through difficult times. I hope everyone has the best day possible.

Good morning all from sunny W Kent. Went and had our 4th jabs yesterday, for the first time we had to join a long queue as they were doing walk in as well as appointments. Lovely chat to the couple ahead of us and the people behind so a sociable morning out. If anybody had covid it was certainly a good opportunity to pass it around.
Off to farm shop and then a bit of house work, being away doesn't seem to stop the dust.
Best wishes to all.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a lovely Hull.
Bit late this morning so will read your posts when I get a chance. Our son stayed last night so just done him breakfast.
Today we have the children and grandchildren this afternoon for a buffet so lots of lovely little snuggles.
My mum has just rung to ask if we can pick her up from her caravan tomorrow as there is a bird scarer going off every few minutes in the field behind and it’s scaring her little dog. Bless her she sounded on the verge of tears.
Thinking of everyone today ?and hoping Saturday brings a moment of joy??

Good morning all from the Black country another sunny day ahead.
Having only been awake a short while haven't read through, will catch up after full English.
Hopefully will meet our friends in Redditch later but we need to wait till they've done LFT their granddaughter tested positive yesterday and they look after her couple days a week.
Have a good day everyone and may you all find some ?.

Marydoll Sat 09-Apr-22 09:00:36

Good morning Mick and all from a chilly Glasgow. Pleased to hear, you went out on your trip Mick.

Baubles, I have had a fair number of attacks of Labyrinthitis over the years, the first one triggered by a severe migraine. Plane journeys have also triggered it in the past and the climb from Fumicino is quite steep, triggering ear pain for me, perhaps that was the trigger.
Antihistamines and anti nausea pills often help. I have a rescue pack for such instances. In fact I have a few rescue packs for various things. Saves me bothering my GP.
You must be feeling horrible, I hope it settles. Perhaps consider taking antihistamines ?

A very restless night, as I couldn't sleep for worrying about DH. He could snore for Scotland, but there was an eerie silence emanating from his room.Obviously I couldn't go in, so I had my ear pressed against the door, hoping to hear a cough!!!!
I then did that catastrophising thing, you do during the night. What if....,
?

Yesterday, minutes after recording his positive result, he received a phone call from NHS Scotland, checking up on him! Now that is efficient. Strangely the call was to our landline.
The person on the phone burst out laughing, when I said I was upstairs, as I was CEV and had banished him to the other end of the house. I explained I would need to deploy my best teacher's, scary roar, as he is deaf, but is, unfortunately, in denial. ?

I feel really ropey today, (nothing new there), but I have a hacking cough (worse than my usual one.) At this time of the year, I always have severe hay-fever, so normally I wouldn't be phased. What a different world we live in now, questioning every little symptom..
I have just tested NEGATIVE, thankfully! However, I will continue to test daily, just to be on the safe side. I am totally surprised that I didn't catch it from Dollie last Sunday.

DD and SIL are visiting, with some provisions, they will stay in the garden, to be on the safe side. There has been a shortage off eggs here. Probably due to the Avian 'flu outbreak. Last week, we saw lots of warning signs outside local farms.

For days, DH has successfully found a number of excuses to prevent me from entering the garage.
Yesterday, I found the reason why, an early birthday present from DD and SIL. Much to my delight, it is a small wooden greenhouse and SIL is coming to build it today. What a thoughtful present!
I will be delighted to see them, I have felt quite isolated recently.

Enough of my ramblings, I am procrastinating and should really get up.
Best wishes to all and wishing you the best day possible, especially if you are struggling..

Our wills are the same GM. We have new ones waiting for witnessing and sending off for safe storage as we did them ourselves and forgot about them!!!!

Good morning from sunny but chilly Colchester.
I managed to get the laundry washed and dried yesterday, so there's ironing and repacking to do today. DH is off on another Duke of Edinburgh expedition on Monday and we have a huge minibus on our drive.
Today will be a rest and relax day hopefully.
Love to all ?x

Good morning everyone from the sunny south coast. A friend pinged me at 6.30am with a view across the fens from her window accompanied by the dawn chorus. Oh how I miss it. There’s a distinct lack of small bird life hereabouts. Plenty of seagulls though. ?

Well done, Iris! I used to be an RDA volunteer back in the day. It was great fun and very rewarding.

Hope you all have a good day and that Marydoll is OK. Take care, everyone.

Good morning all. My bit of Leicestershire is also sunny.

DH is off to a deli in Charnwood Forest to collect a curry this morning, as you do!! I hope he pops into Waitrose for wine too.

Sending lots of love and support to all who need it.

Stilllearning Sat 09-Apr-22 08:28:30

Morning from S Lanarkshire, hope today is a little milder than yesterday when we had lovely blue skies and several showers of snow/hailstones!

Much needed haircut today and an 80th birthday celebration this evening for a friend who has been a nun for sixty years. I am sure her life has contained many challenges but she is always caring and cheerful and will love her family get together.

Glad you feel up to resuming normal service Mick, enjoy your day.

So sorry for your disappointment Sar, this just goes on and on doesn’t it?

baubles that’s rotten about your continuing vertigo, I do hope it settles soon.

?for Marydoll and wishing everyone a good day ???

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Lovely to hear about Iris GrandMattie and I know how disappointed you are Sar I missed my DGSs 4 th birthday and my Mothers Day lunch because I got Covid.

Today we will go into town for a coffee and pick up some sweet pea plants from the market.

Grammaretto Sat 09-Apr-22 08:10:51

Good morning from the Scottish Borders.
Chilly start and if anything like yesterday there could be hail later.
I took DMiL out for afternoon tea yesterday complete with wheelchair for a stroll around the walled garden. I wish! We had to make a "run" for the door of the hotel.

I am glad you are getting back to normal now Mick. Take care.
Well done to Iris. GM She is a clever girl.
I must cut vegetables now for soup at the community lunch and make up a bed for my new Helper who arrives later today.
The Matt cartoon was mentioned on Radio 4 this morning Urms, very witty as usual. Good luck with your nag!

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 09-Apr-22 07:54:32

Enjoy your trip out today mick and take care

This morning I’m off to DD2s house, I think we’ll all go off out for a walk somewhere seen as it’s dry. DH is collecting our newish car from the garage and then will meet up with us later.

Great news about Iris GM clever girl she is!

Such a disappointment Sar I feel for you - I hope you get to meet up soon once covid is out of the way

Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Gwenisgreat1 Sat 09-Apr-22 07:50:40

Good morning all from sunny with a tinge of frost Harrogate
Still to try and get the printer working from DHs PC. He expects me to do it over his shoulder, where I’d prefer to sit in his chair and have a go!
I’m delighted Iris has passed a test on horse care. You sound a bit brighter too, GrandMattie.
It’s good your DD has now tested negative, our school hols have just started here, just as the weather is warming up.
Hope you have a good win on the sweepstake Urms. Sounds a fascinating area you live in?
Glad you are back to having your bus journey jaunts mick
Today- a bit of housework and this pm a Zoom meeting to discuss some business arrangements.
Can you get a prescription to help with the dizzy spells, Baubles? I did when I used to have them
Hope you continue to test negative marydoll. My Dh was negative when I had it, so you might escape!

Have the best day possible folks

Good morning from a bright and frosty Suffolk coast.

We’re getting on well with our clearing out of rooms and cupboards. Trips to the tip and charity shops, in preparation for the new heating system. Very satisfying!
I’ve asked DS1 and 2 to spare us a weekend in a few weeks to come here and help de- clutter sheds, and garage , paint the summerhouse and replace fences. ??. ! We’ve accumulated so much ‘stuff’ over the 23 years we’ve had the cottage. ?. I’m a thrower - outer . Dh is a hoarder! ?.

Sar - how disappointing for you all. Fingers crossed for the summer. ?

GM - well done IRIS.?.

Walk the dog along the beach and watch the Saturday 10k runners. Dh is going to a footie match, so I will continue with the clearing out - I’ll try to find a few things Dh won’t miss ?.

Have a peaceful, gentle day ! ?

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 09-Apr-22 07:43:58

Hello everyone from a bright West Oxfordshire. My son, partner and my granddaughter are staying for the weekend. Son and partner are off for a day in the Cotswolds. Me and OH will entertain granddaughter, apparently there is an Easter trail in the village which we’ll do and I’ve booked lunch at the local pub. I think a bit of CBBs will also be involved.

Grandmabatty Sat 09-Apr-22 07:37:27

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently -1°. Calm greyish skies above. Sar what a disappointment for you! Baubles I had a touch of vertigo earlier this year so I sympathise with you. I hope it passes quickly.
Yesterday I had a lovely brunch with friends. Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, bagels and brioche with cherry jam and lashings of coffee to paraphrase Enid Blyton. We blethered for hours. They had brought me back a gift from their recent holiday too which was unexpected. I am very fortunate to have such friends.
Today is housework day. I plan to bake too and fill up the tins. Buttermilk pancakes, a pear and almond cake and peanut butter and chocolate cookies. Have a good day all.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 09-Apr-22 07:35:39

Morning Mick and all

Oh dear Sar53 how disappointing for you all, I do hope that the booking can be moved.

As yesterday didn’t go as planned, I have absolutely o idea how today will go?

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Sar53 Sat 09-Apr-22 07:24:43

Good morning from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea.
My eldest daughter and 3 granddaughters were coming to a hotel near here for a few days from Monday but I heard yesterday that the 10 year old has covid. To say we are upset is an understatement.
DD is trying to move the booking to the summer holidays.
We have a few errands to run this morning and then DH is going to a dinner at the Rugby club, I'm sure I'll be taxi service.
Enjoy Saturday everyone xx

Grandmadinosaur Sat 09-Apr-22 07:18:04

* Baubles* just a thought did you spend time in a swimming pool an holiday? The first time I had labyrinthitis I’d come back from holiday. The doctor told me it was quite a common occurrence after being in a pool. It’s a horrible thing to suffer with. I hope you feel better soon.
