Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry but cloudy here in brackley this morning, a quiet day of housework plus a small shop.
I am hoping to start and get into my regular routine again as well, but with care.
Take Care,
Mick

What a beautiful quilt. I’ve only just spotted it.

Litterpicker Mon 11-Apr-22 11:35:27

Good morning Mick and all. Sunny but rather breezy here in coastal West Sussex.
I was very tired yesterday and an attack of cystitis was threatening but seems to be better this morning so I will keep on drinking (water!).
We have someone coming from a flooring company to measure up for hard floor to replace the carpet. We are looking at engineered vinyl, though the young lad in the showroom seemed keen we should consider the laminate that they sell. We have two books of samples to look at but it’s very hard to decide on a shade from a 10x8 tile.
Lovely photos from Sarthe Ashcombe - wish I was there ?
Grandmattie your beautiful quilt will raise your DH’s spirits as well as keeping him cosy.
Blossoming, I should follow your good example with core and balance exercises. I hope you see some improvement soon.

Gm that quilt is beautiful you are very talented ,it's a lovely day here don't know what we are doing today. Marydoll hope you stay negative . Have a good day all ?

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s cool and cloudy in my corner of Lancashire this morning, currently 11°C.

What a beautiful quilt GrandMattie, I hope there are no dramas today.

Hope you continue to test negative Marydoll and MrMDoll is over the worst.

My ‘wobbly head’ is receding but my balance has been affected once again. One step forward, two steps back. So I need to work on my core today to stabilise my centre, also build up my leg muscles once more. I don’t think I’ll be going out for a walk today as there’s a very strong wind, also by the time I’ve finished my physio exercises I think I’ll be too tired!

Thinking of all our grans going through difficult times.

Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. Run out of my milk so off for a quick shop, then I really really must wash the kitchen floor.
Love the quilt gMattie you bring back happy memories when I made one before the birth of DD2, all hand stitched had no idea how else to do it, I wonder if she has still kept it.A long gone aunt showed me what to do and I still have her cardboard triangles somewhere.

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers, northwest coast.
DS and DGD here, arrived yesterday so not sure what the day holds yet. Last night DS cooked a beef curry and we had a tv supper watching the Chase and gogglebox. DGD studying photography at university and takes photos here of things which look completely uninteresting to me, but interesting when she shows me her photos. Still chilly and I can’t seem to get warm.
Beautiful quilt grandMattie and hope your DH has a settled day.

Good morning Mick, good morning all. Blue skies on this beautiful Isle of Anglesey. Lots of lovely little lambs in the fields surrounding us. Bluebells in the hedgerows and tiny birds busying themselves in the trees.
Orlin is whistling in the kitchen, hopefully the kettle is too.
No voluntary work today so a long walk and perhaps a few phone chats with friends. Looking forward to warmer days sitting in the garden having face to face chats with friends.
Hope you all have a lovely day ??

EkwaNimitee Mon 11-Apr-22 09:07:51

Good morning Mick and everyone from a bright Carlisle where the sun is still struggling to get out.
It's laundry and housework this morning then a visit to the hospital after lunch for one of my regular venesections. My iron stores are coming down steadily so I'm hoping the bloodletting will soon be only occasional.
Yesterday I sowed peas in the garden. I put canes in first but that wasn't as easy as it might sound as they had to be pushed into stony clay. Naturally, everywhere I wanted to put a cane, there was a stone! So I accumulated a few more for my growing pile.
Lovely quilt grandMattie, you are an artist.

Have the best possible day everyone.

Morning all from a beautiful West Yorks. My brisk walk this morning was such a joy I love seeing nature opening this time year .

GM you are so clever ,your quilt designs are so appealing makes me feel ashamed at being so ungifted in skills.Do hope DH has a better day, such shame after an improved week.

MARYDOLL your enthusiasm amazes me you certainly keep yourself busy.Do you not think it time to reduce a gear. I also am one for a bargain and buying for just in case moment.Family always check with me first if in need of emergency gift, card etc think it comes from living in rural area with no transport when first married so had to be prepared for all occasions. When should DH be out of isolation do hope over the worst.

Phone call to reorder my meds and have a small pile ironing to do.
Then really should be in the garden getting it ready for DGCs egg hunt Sunday.
Loving thoughts to all with health and family issues .Take care.

.

Save some plants for me merlot, I’m not ready yet, I need to do some more prep.
Not a lot going on really, hoping more energy will return as the days pass.
Enjoy your day all ??

Good morning all. It’s a bright start in East Yorkshire.

I was awake coughing about 5. Got up had cough medicine and a drink of warm blackcurrant that soothed it but couldn’t get back to sleep. DH then woke me from a deep sleep at 7.45. He’s just back from dropping the car of and calling in to the Drs surgery. He was supposed to have heard from the GP after his release from hospital last Wednesday. Of course nothing so far and they knew nothing about it. He’s awaiting a call now later this morning.

I’ll attempt a few bits of light housework today and when we get the car back will go out for a top up shop.
Yesterday DS and GC visited after lunch. Had lots of cuddles with baby. She is such a smiley baby. GS was laughing at videos I showed him on my phone from when he was a baby.
A long day for you Shazzza hope you’ve got wine ready for later? it will be our turn on Wednesday!
Love the quilt GM you are so talented.
Take care everyone.

ginny Mon 11-Apr-22 08:28:45

Good morning all.
Lovely quilt.
Lots of little bits and pieces to clear today and a couple of parcels to post. A report to write which I always agonise over.
Wishing all a good day.

Good morning all from a bright but very chilly (still) Suffolk seaside. The wind is off the sea today, so a complete switch around from the last few days, and the sea looks choppy ?.

We have a tip visit booked and we will shop for going back to Essex tomorrow. Will save us doing it at ‘home’ and we have the family coming on Friday for the usual Easter egg hunt.
We’ve had a lovely few days here and really appreciated the time away from appointments and worries!

Eldest Gd phoned last evening for a chat and to say she coming home from Uni on Wednesday and could she stay over at ours Thursday and Friday. She’s currently at a physiciatric hospital for her placement and some of the stories she tells are mind boggling and very sad. I wish she was doing a more ‘lighthearted’ degree but she finds it very interesting and rewarding. .

Lovely quilt GM ?.

Sar - good news re -covid test. Hopefully your girls will be with you soon.?.

Marydoll what a bumper bargain shop you had. I can just see you filling that trolly - supermarket sweep ??.

Lots of child care going on, so enjoy your days and ‘strength to your elbow’ . ???????.

Best wishes to all ????

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

merlotgran Mon 11-Apr-22 08:08:43

Good morning all from a sunny(ish) and breezy south coast. The local library is having their Easter Fayre today so I will pop in for a look before going to the new garden centre which opens today. Why does everything happen at once??

Thank you, Jax for giving me the heads up about a ‘pop up’ nursery in the town every Tuesday. Guess where I’m going tomorrow? ?

Hope everyone has a good day. Especially those caring for poorly loved ones and needing strength. X

Good morning everyone from a slightly overcast Northampton. Washing to do today and run the Shark over upstairs.

I have a tea loaf to finish mixing - the fruit has been soaking in strong tea overnight, so just flour and an egg to add and then bake. It will go in the freezer ready for my coffee morning next week.

Still suffering from my cold and have tested negative again this morning, but am still going to stay away from people this week. I am planning on coming out of hibernation for a health walk on Thursday evening. Phone calls to make today to reschedule appointments for dentist, blood pressure check and hairdresser.

Must go and sort the washing out; have a pleasant Monday everyone.

monk08 Mon 11-Apr-22 07:55:11

Good morning all from the Black country, weather hasn't decided what it's doing yet but the washing is on so hopefully it will be line dried.
Think a trip to garden centre today we need some more cotswold chippings, and I do like their cakes.
Lovely photos on here once again.
Take care all enjoy your day and may you all find some ?.

Urmstongran Mon 11-Apr-22 07:53:48

I hope you don’t mind but I’m coming over to stay Ashcombe! Your place looks lovely especially in the sunrise. So calm and peaceful. How long will you stay?

No Matt = Monday.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where the sun is trying to shine. It’s the first day of Easter holidays for the Boy Wonder and L’il Miss - they will be so excited to be off school this morning. I’m sure we’ll be seeing them at some stage today.

Enjoy the day all who can. x

Good morning all from a mild Glasgow.

GM, I'm sorry to hear yesterday was a difficult one. thankfully, you were able to access support quickly,

For the first time in years, I was not wakened during the night by pain. I couldn't believe it was 6am, when I awoke. DH is not the easiest, nor most sensible of patients and he is becoming grumpier and more difficult by the moment. I struggle to manage at the best of times, but I am exhausted and felt nauseous and unwell, by being Florence Nightingale and trying to keep on top of the heavier tasks, which DH is responsible for, which I find difficult to do. Of course our children are willing to help, but obviously can't.

Yesterday, I heard a noise in the garden, looked out to see DD and SIL, sitting on our decking, having a picnic lunch. They had come to check up on us and bring me eggs, which I just couldn't get at the shops. DD had also brought me chocolate in the form of a cheap Easter egg. There is something about Easter egg chocolate, which I love.

I had planned to spend an hour in the garden and phone a GN friend, who is ill. It didn't happen.
Once DD informed me that our local Poundstretcher was selling absolutely everything at half price, I was off like a shot.
Unfortunately, I got a bit carried away, then realised that DH wasn't there to help and I couldn't manage the packing by myself
Eventually, helped by an assistant, I threw everything in the trolley and had to pack everything at my car. I managed to get quite a few gardening items, a hot water bottle for DH's painful side and a stock of cleaning materials for my nuclear bunker, as my SIL calls it. My best buy was a grow your own bonsai tree. Much to my disappointment, I found the pack only contained four seeds and some soil. That will teach me to not to impulse buy! I am easily seduced. ?

As I have had another negative LFT, I will go and pick up my prescriptions, to save my SIL going. I also have a few parish jobs to do, since its Holy Week, so I may pop up to church. It will give me break from grumpy, Victor Meldrew. ☹

Wishing you all as pleasant a day as possible, especially those who are struggling with ill health or family worries. ?

NannyJan53 Mon 11-Apr-22 07:50:34

Good morning from a very dull and cloudy Black Country.

It was very sunny yesterday, so managed to cut the lawn for the first time this year. Then we loaded the car ready to go to the caravan in Somerset today. It is stored there, so we are just staying until Thursday to clean after the winter storage. Ready for our trip to Bude in May. DS and family are there, so we can spend some time with them.

Probably a meal out tonight to save cooking tonight.

Such a lovely quilt grandMattie I can just about sew a button on smile

Wishing you all a lovely Monday

Forgot to say that when I had my BP last tested pre pandemic if was normal. 2.5 years later it’s now really high so got a BP monitor at Lloyd’s pharmacy and keeping a diary of shocking readings until I get a telephone appointment on the 25th April.

glammagran Mon 11-Apr-22 07:45:23

Good morning to you all.

We had a rare night away at the weekend staying with DD1 and family about 65 miles away from us. They took us to an Indian restaurant for the best food I’ve ever had in one. The Indians in this area are pretty awful.

About a year ago I had a blood test and one of the tests showed my B12 was on the lowish side but just inside the normal range. Six months ago I started taking B12 tablets. I’d heard they weren’t much use but gave it a go. To my amazement I was tested again and my levels this time were actually over the upper reference limit so cutting back on those. I started taking turmeric at the same time. I haven’t noticed any difference at all with my joint and muscle pain and tiredness though.

Wishing everyone a good Monday and thinking of all those with problems.

Grammaretto Mon 11-Apr-22 07:41:52

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I hope it doesn't rain as there is garden work to do.
A df is due for coffee and later I'm taking DMiL for her 4th vaccine.
I took my new German helper to see the movie Encanto last night. It was delightful. Lots of children there who were very well behaved.
Thanks for the photos Ashcomb and grandMatte
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a lovely bright and sunny day in Essex by the sea.
10 year old DGD tested negative yesterday so if the same today they are coming to a nearby hotel for a couple of days. They are all very excited to see the sea ?.
I had a bad night and feel a tad tired ? but seeing my daughter and granddaughters will cheer me up.
I love the quilt GM, you are very talented and with so much going on in your life as well flowers.
Have a marvellous Monday everyone xx

Good morning from sunny Colchester.
DH and 5 year old have been up for ages and 11 year old has just used the loo and gone back to bed.
I expect to end up at the park play area this morning.
Better shake a leg.
Love to all ? x
