Good Morning Everyone,
Its cloudy here at the moment but dry in Brackley , anyway whilst out yesterday I noticed that the blackthorn is still very much in blossom , normally a sign of colder weather to come.
I did enjoy my hour in Bicester yesterday , the bakery cafe I use asked where I had bee so I told them .
But today an easy day watching cycling on TV .
Take Care,
Mick

Scentia, such sad news. ?

Urms glad you manage to have a chat with your GP. Hopefully, things won't be as bad as you fear.

EkwaNimitee Wed 13-Apr-22 09:21:49

Good morning Mick and everyone from a rather dull and dark Carlisle. Missing the sun but at least I don't have to bother about watering my new plantings, it's rained plenty of water down from the skies.
I 'entertained' myself setting up the new phone yesterday evening, it was fairly straightforward but involved a lot of words I loathe, i.e 'password', 'ID' etc plus other words I shouldn't use.
Today, a bit of housework, a bit of admin and a bit of picture hanging. Plus I'm getting a delivery of something much easier to deal with than a new phone, which is a case of wine! I have to be prepared for the arrival of DS1 at the end of the month. My DS's are much thirstier people than me, my wine cellar aka the hall cupboard is soon depleted.

Wishing a better day to all the unwell, with special thoughts to you and your DH, grandMattie.

Good Morning all, it’s dry here this morning after a wet day yesterday, I’m waiting for a Doctor to ring about blood test results , it used to be you could pop in and get test results face to face by your favourite Doctor , I’ve no idea who or when I will be talking to .
Ever optimistic I had ordered a new greenhouse on line , Two boxes have arrived , but the other one has gone missing , the base is going down this weekend , but it looks like I will have to reorder from someone else…. Sigh
I have a.ready got seeds growing on the bedroom window cill, but they are a tad leggy already ! I might have to resort to buying plants again this year , but I do enjoy the whole seed sowing and potting on busyness.
DD is sympathetic , she has her eye on the greenhouse when I give up ??

Good morning Mick and all from dry but dull Anglesey. Hello to Joyce6135, nice to see you, no need to report much, just hello each morning will suffice to become a welcome friend.
Sad news for your daughter Scentia, two lovely children to be thankful for but even so it must hurt when you long for a third.
Peggy is looking very smart Merlotgran, she does look a bundle of fun.
Enjoy your time with your grandson gMattie, I’m sure the visit will pep you both up a bit.
Try to make the best of today everyone, feel lucky, we’re all still here aren’t we. ????

dragonfly46 Wed 13-Apr-22 09:14:46

Joyce I don’t have a very interesting life either but it is good to hear from people in the same boat ?

monk08 Wed 13-Apr-22 09:04:39

Good morning all from a wet Black country yesterday very much the same so our day with the boys was spent at soft play and the big yellow arches their choice, their mum said it was their perfect day to which eldest Dgs 6 replied to make it more perfect would have been a new toy? kids don't you just love them.
Will read through after breakfast tummy rumbling.
Enjoy your day everyone and may you all find some ?.

joyce6135 Wed 13-Apr-22 08:59:20

Morning all. I haven’t posted for a while as I have felt quite down, and as I don’t go out much I don’t have much to report, but I do follow the thread. I’m going for my Spring Covid booster today, I feel very lucky to have it, it is at least one thing this government has done well, if nothing else. Wishing you all a lovely day, thoughts are with those with worries and health problems.flowers

Urmstongran Wed 13-Apr-22 08:52:26

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from a dry south Manchester where we have complete white cloud cover. Looks mild enough out though.

We’re taking the Boy Wonder and L’il Miss to the ‘Clip & Climb’ wall at our local leisure centre. Their mum booked an 11am slot for them on line. She’s off to get highlights and a cut as the 4 of them are off to a wedding in Mere, Cheshire tomorrow.

Enjoy the day all who can. I’m less anxious and slept well last night after speaking to my favourite GP at teatime yesterday. Health anxiety impacts on my well being so much I feel quite flaky when I compare myself to so many on here who are far more capable and robust. I do admire you all very much. x

ShazzaKanazza Wed 13-Apr-22 08:43:59

Please put your feet up today Marydoll? what a day yesterday. I do look forward to your posts.
Grandmadinosaur enjoy your day with your DGS hope your energy lasts the day.

merlotgran Wed 13-Apr-22 08:40:42

Good morning everyone from a cloudy south coast. Glad your DD’s op went well , kitty. Having to wait until late afternoon adds to the stress - as well as not being allowed to eat!

A quick trip to the supermarket this morning. I won’t need much as I’m going away for Easter but I’d better buy some goodies to take with me.

I clipped Peggy yesterday now the weather is warming up. She looks a bit sorry for herself but she has her booster jab tomorrow and I want her to look presentable for her new vet!

Hope you all have a good day with time to take a deep breath and relax for those who need to.

Susan56 Wed 13-Apr-22 08:32:38

Good morning from Shropshire.

Yesterday we went shopping in our nearest big town as I needed/wanted some new jeans,So good to be able to try things on again! We had lunch out and then finished with a trip to The Range.

Today we are looking after the grandchildren as DD is off to the theatre in Liverpool.Like gingster Easter crafts are on the agenda.

So pleased your DD’s operation went well kitty and wish her well going forward?

We have had Covid twice and found the tiredness lasted quite a while unfortunately.

Party, I am another worrier. It’s exhausting isn’t it?

Wishing everyone a good day??

BlueSapphire Wed 13-Apr-22 08:28:10

Good morning everyone from an overcast but dry Northampton. Still suffering from my cold but still testing negative. Cancelled my hair appointment which should have been this morning, and made another one for next week. Staying away from people this week just in case, but may venture out to the shops on Saturday, hoping my cold will be gone by then.

Spent a good couple of hours in the garden yesterday tidying up, and will be out again this afternoon, as I spied plenty of weeds yesterday.

Nothing else planned for today apart from finishing the Sainsburys order and general tidying up.

Hoping Wednesday is kind to all, and thinking of those with worries and cares.

Sar53 Wed 13-Apr-22 08:27:22

Good morning from a slightly overcast Essex by the sea.
I had a wonderful day yesterday with my 2 daughters and 5 granddaughters.
We travelled to the end of the pier and back on the train, had lots of fun on the rides, well the granddaughters did. The youngest two, 4 and 6 loved the soft play area and we had a very unhealthy lunch.
It was a magical day all being together which doesn't happen very often and not one argument or cross word.
Younger daughter drove home last night, eldest leaves today.
I have some lovely photos to remember a wonderful day.
I will now settle down to read all of your news.
Have a wonderful Wednesday and enjoy the sun xxx

dragonfly46 Wed 13-Apr-22 08:20:14

Good morning from as kitty says an overcast Leicestershire.

So pleased the op went okay Kitty I suspect she will be home today?
Happy to hear your DH had a more restful day GrandMattie.
Sad news Scentia.

We are getting ready today to travel to Brighton tomorrow - I hope I have the stamina as Covid has knocked me out!

Wishing everyone a good day.

Marydoll Wed 13-Apr-22 08:20:11

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 7C. That was nice to hear that were missed by your friends, Mick and glad to read you are back to your usual routine.

Kitty, I am glad to hear, your daughter has come through her op and that the anti emetics have been sorted out for your DH, GM.

As you can see, I survived my trip, heaven knows what my already high BP was, but I did it! I never thought I would be so grateful to encounter roadworks, which thankfully had slowed the traffic down on very busy roads.
Everything I encountered the sign, New road layout ahead, or New roundabout ahead, my heart sank. How the world has changed, after two years of sheilding.
I was feeling quite smug, when I arrived and even smugger, when I forced myself to take a different route home to test myself!

As we usually do I parked in a quieter car park at Braehead shopping mall and took the X77 to the hospital. It is only three stops, often we are the only people on it and a bonus is that I pick up a Metro, to do the crossword, while waiting to be seen. Well the bus was jumping, but everyone, mainly elderly people, was masked.

I had forgotten that Glasgow culture, where everyone chats to total strangers at bus stops and on buses. How delightful to have a bit of social interaction and those who know me, know I do relish a bit of social interaction! ?
I was amused, when an elderly lady, offered me her seat in the bus shelter, I must have looked as if I needed it!? Do I look thar decrepit?
Another thing I had forgotten is the biting wind that blows from the River Clyde, and driving rain, it was blooming freezing!

Of course, I was way too early, what do you think I did?.
The school holidays meant a very busy mall, so I gave up after three shops and retreated to my car, but did manage to secure some bargains for myself and wee Dollie and MrMD's favourite bread from M&S.
Grumpy Victor M, doesn't deserve it, but I am trying to be the better person here! ?
Like many of you, he has lost his sense of taste and appetite, he seems to have had quite a hefty dose of Covid and I can't convince him, he will not be playing golf for the next week. He expects to be cured after a week!

I'm pretty shattered today after my exertions yesterday, my chest has flared up and my hip is gowping (a Glasgow word) Unfortunately my scans show that a new hip is not an option, twenty years of acute pain, is being caused by a problem with the tendons, nothing to do with my RA, as everyone previously thought. There is no solution.
I plan to have a gentle day and perhaps do some alterations. Short legs and arms are a curse!

May I say to anyone lurking, but wary of posting here, please give it a go. Even if you post and no-one responds, it doesn't mean we are unwelcoming or we are ignoring you.
We only know each other, because we have persevered with posting, regardless of whether anyone notices us or not.
This comment has been prompted by a thread, I read last night, started by a poster thinking of leaving GN, because no-one welcomed her on the GM thread. As I said on her thread, we are a friendly bunch.

Yet another novella! I have never mastered the art of writing a summary. Too late now.
Have the best day you can, folks! Life is too short to waste time!
I am off to read your posts now.
Taichinan, so glad to see you posting again! ?

ginny Wed 13-Apr-22 08:08:10

Good morning from a fairly bright N. Bucks.
Lots to do today. We have the caravan to pack ready for a week in Derbyshire. The family ( 10 of us altogether) are joining us for the long Easter weekend and DH andI will stay on for a few days.
This afternoon is Craft club. Should have been my friend leading the project but she has an urgent hospital appointment so I am taking over.
I also have an online art class this evening.
Thoughts with all who are sad , worried or poorly, hoping things improve for you all.

Gagagran Wed 13-Apr-22 08:00:29

Good Morning everyone from a brightening south coast 10.3c and we are promised some sunshine later.

I had a funny night wakening up a few times but dozing off after meditating for a while. I have not been a good sleeper since I had children and got used to sleeping with one ear open for them.

DH is out with his bike club today and they are going to have fish and chips in Bognor Regis I am advised. Immediately got the earworm "Didn't we have a lovely time the day we went to Bangor" . Bognor can easily be substituted for Bangor!

Hoping for a better day for all with health or other worries and especially the carers with unwell loved ones to look after. flowers The bible tells us "This too shall pass" which I suppose is self-evident but something to hold on to on hard days.

Grandmadinosaur Wed 13-Apr-22 07:56:52

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. We have a bright blue sky and it feels warmer at 9 degrees.
Didn’t have a brilliant nights sleep. Woke up several times and couldn’t get back to sleep and then about 6am I could hear the buzzing of a wasp. It was just inside the open window so had to close it.
DH has just left to go for tests after his hospital stay last week. I’m hoping he won't be long but who knows.

We are having GS today. A few months ago we had promised to take him to Knaresborough to Mother Shiptons Cave but unfortunately can’t make it at the moment. He won’t remember we were supposed to go today but as soon as we can we will take him. So we shall do a visit to the small park up the road and a cafe visit after. I need to go to the post office. When we come home I think we shall do some baking. He always loves that activity! Might do scones, buns or Easter nests. Since starting school he also loves drawing so that is another thing to keep him busy. We might make an Easter card to send to his great grandad. DH went to Art College so perhaps it’s in the genes? I’m another one struggling with fatigue after Covid so it will be a challenge but DIL is at home if our energies fade and we have to take him home early.

My heart goes out to your DD Scentia ?
Glad to hear your daughters op went well Kitty ?
Hoping for a decent day for you GM and Mr GM ?

Take care everyone.

Grandmabatty Wed 13-Apr-22 07:50:04

Good morning all from Polmont. It's damp and mild at 7°. I am so sorry to hear about your daughter's miscarriage Scentia. What a sad series of losses. ? To her. Mick how nice that you were missed by the café. Kittylester good that your daughter finally had her op. What a long wait though! Baubles Hill Street Blues was one of my absolute favourite shows. Very innovative in its time.
Yesterday was grandma day. Dgs1 came for the day and we had lots of fun. I am enjoying the toddler stage with him, especially as I can hand him back! As a result of all the nonsense, I slept better last night.
Today is a return to my usual Wednesday routine. I'll visit mum then I have art class in Stirling. I have no inspiration for a painting today. I'm hoping something inspires me this morning. Pork chops for tea. Have a good day all.

brook2704 Wed 13-Apr-22 07:49:51

So sorry to hear your DDs sad news Scentia ?

Party4 Wed 13-Apr-22 07:46:32

Morning all from a dull chilly West Yorks.
Just could not sleep last night, mind in overdrive, worrying over things that may never happen.DH says I'm not happy without a worry.
Kitty do hope your DD recovery goes well.
DGCs here this p.m must get them out to woods before they get to their ipads.Much preferred the yrs when they actually played games and crafts. The youngest is only 9 but would happily be on ipad if left.
Caring thoughts to those with illness and worry.

Bellasnana Wed 13-Apr-22 07:43:29

Scentia such sad news from your DD. So sorry.?

Jaxjacky Wed 13-Apr-22 07:41:53

Good morning from a cloudy S Hants. Good you had a trip out Mick, back to your routine.
grandMattie difficult times for you, borne stoically ?
I’m hoping for a -ve today, yesterday’s +ve was very faint, but the weariness is tiresome.
Have a pleasant day all with a ?or ??.

ShazzaKanazza Wed 13-Apr-22 07:38:53

Scentia so sorry to hear about your DDs heartache. ?
