Good morning, Mick and company from a foggy corner of the Sarthe but with a high of 20 deg. C expected later.

It was certainly warm yesterday, making reading in the garden a pleasure. Currently, I’m reading a book by Stephanie Austin, one of our theatre company members. Her books are easy reading with crime stories based around Ashburton in Devon. www.stephanieaustin.co.uk/about

It’s good to see new folk joining this thread and I hope you will feel as welcome and supported by its contributors as I do. There are lovely, kind people here and I was very pleased to meet one of them in person when she was on holiday near my home in Torbay a couple of months ago.

With caring thoughts for those experiencing sad or painful times at the moment. ??????

Good morning from an overcast E Kent.
Go for it, Mick, be brave!
We had a bit of an adventure yesterday. The district nurse cam3 to refill the syringe driver, only to find that it had stopped 17 hours (out of 24) earlier! He panicked a little. We hadn’t done anything to it, obvs a malfunction. He had to come back later with a new driver. The odd thing was that DH had been pretty good during the absence of his drugs!
Still having trouble sourcing one drug, but it’s ok ATM as we have some left.
Quiet day as DGS had a cold and had been in contact with a +ve covid case, so didn’t come. The vicar coming for communion had a tummy upset, and didn’t come…
Today? Who knows?
Welcome all newbies and returners. This is a really lovely, kind and supportive site.
Hope everyone has a peaceful day. Carpe diem. ??? ☀️ ???

Beechnut Thu 14-Apr-22 06:10:43

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. Foggy here too.

Off to do my weekly shop a day early and hope to pick up a gardening magazine I like and will have a browse over Easter weekend.

I’ve also got a few jobs planned and Beechnutella will be coming one day. I will mow the lawn this afternoon.

Have the best day you can all and welcome to the new good morningers ??

Marydoll Thu 14-Apr-22 06:30:17

Good morning Mick and all.

Not much time to post.
I have Covid and am off to hospital in an hour for an anti-viral infusion, fast tracked by the NHS.
I cannot fault the support, I have had, the phone was red hot yesterday afternoon. It has all become a bit complicated, due to my medication and multiple comorbidities.
All I will say is that the hospital pharmacist, let out a huge sigh, when she read the list of medication, I am on and saw my many drug allergies!

Unfortunately, the first line anti virals are no use for me, as they will contra-indicate with some of my medication. I have to have suitable second level ones in a day ward and be monitored.
After ten days of negative LFTs, and a negative one yesterday morning, I thought I had got away with it. However, I decided to do another one at lunchtime, as I wasn't feeling too good. For those of you, who pray, please say one for me. I am feeling ropey, to say the least.

After numerous phone calls, I have managed to contact the clinician, who treated me on Tuesday. I feel so bad about that, but the Track and Trace people, and hospital staff reassured me, that I had followed all the guideline given to DH about what I should do and not do.
They thanked me for my calls and said that I was unusual, many patients don't bother.

Hopefully all will go well, but I must admit to be feeling quite anxious, going on past experiences of new meds. MrMD, is improving and we have been advised that he can accompany me, as the hospital is on the other side of the river, but obviously wait in the car. Who knows, I may do my usual and surprise everyone!
I never thought that I would be grateful he had Covid! Quite ironic really. wink

grandMattie Thu 14-Apr-22 06:33:05

Oh, Marydoll, I’m so sorry.
I’m glad that everything is happening so quickly and the hospital has a handle on your case. Get well soon! ❤️

Bellasnana Thu 14-Apr-22 06:33:09

Good morning from Malta where we are in for another overcast, very windy day with a high of 18°C.

Off to get my nails done this morning then home to watch the tennis.

Took Buzz for his grooming session yesterday, he was very well behaved and got a packet of treats from the groomer. I was a bit shocked that his wash and dry now costs €30 . I only pay €10 for my weekly wash and blow dry! Anyway, he’s lovely and soft and sweet smelling so it was worth it. He’s a large dog so I can’t manage to wash him myself.

Wishing you all a good day, with special thoughts going out to those of you who are not finding life easy at present. ☀️

Bellasnana Thu 14-Apr-22 06:35:55

Oh no! Crossed posts. Very sorry to hear your news, Marydoll, no wonder you are anxious. Hoping they find the right drugs to help you through.??

Thinking of you Marydoll, the hospital are obviously on your case. Hope all goes well flowers.
DH has a diabetic eye screening this morning so I will be designated driver. Food shopping afterwards.
Daughters and granddaughters all safely home. We had a great time and there are plans to do it all again next year.
Have a super Thursday everyone xx

This is my first Gransnet Good Morning. smile

Full disclosure: I'm not a gran and it's late afternoon here in Melbourne.

Today I did the introduction to a lecture at gallery where I do volunteer guiding. It went well and the lecture was fab. Lots of watering of the garden as it's terribly dry here; the poor so-and-sos in NSW are getting all our rain, and then some. A lovely day so I took my pooch to the dog beach, calm and hardly anyone there - very surprising.

I must say I love the tone and atmosphere of Gransnet. I'm not short of a combative streak as any search would show, but this forum is full of intelligence, humour and kindness.

Pantglas2 Thu 14-Apr-22 06:47:24

Good morning all from a dry and bright north Wales where I’m saddened to read your news Miss Marydoll- I think we all thought you were remarkably fortunate to be so close to the dratted ? and still be negative!

Lovely to see old timers returning and I know we’ve had lots of newbies in the last week or so - keep posting all, cos that’s how you’ll become regular... ? speaking of being regular, my ☕️awaits (I’m the norty one who’s always alluding to it as my morning chamberpot...?)

I’ll pop back later and read of your bizzinesses...

BlueBalou Thu 14-Apr-22 06:53:53

Good morning everyone from dull, grey Wiltshire.
Good luck Marydoll, I hope everything goes smoothly and well ??
Off to a local dog walking field this morning with my lovely friend and neighbour to hopefully tire out DDog a little.
I have a plant order arriving today so I will be planting up my hanging baskets later.
I hope you all have a good day x

kittylester Thu 14-Apr-22 07:04:22

Morning all from a cloudy and dampish North Leicestershire. The sky looks quite promising however.

DD2 and co arrive this evening and the gardener is coming this morning.
Dh had his booster yesterday and has a very sore arm this morning.

Thank you for your kind messages for DD1 who came home yesterday. She was a bit weepy yesterday but had very little pain.

Sending love and best wishes to everyone and welcome to all newbies

GrannyGravy13 Thu 14-Apr-22 07:06:32

Morning Mick and all

Mick take things slowly u til you have your mojo back.

Marydoll you really do not like the quiet life do you! I wish you well, hope the anti-virals are kind to your body and that the pesky Covid retreats PDQ.

grandMattie , I do not know how you cope, you are one strong lady.

Hello echt Melbourne has a little place in my heart, we have visited several times.

It’s blue sky, sunny and mild here in S E Essex haven’t got any plans will just go with the flow.
The meeting with structural engineer yesterday was positive and reassuring. His firm are willing to do the chemical underpinning which is far less intrusive than the old fashioned way, and we do not have to move out. The inside remedial work is going to be horrendous, but after a long chat DH and I have decided we will stay put and just live in whatever parts of the house has not got builders in it…

I will look up your friends books Ashcombe I am always on the lookout for new authors

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

GrannyGravy13 Thu 14-Apr-22 07:07:44

kittylester sending you and your daughter (((hugs))) it’s a long journey both physically and mentally for you both.

merlotgran Thu 14-Apr-22 07:16:58

Good morning everyone from a foggy south coast. The foghorn always reminds me of my teenage years on the Isle of Wight….Happy Times!

Thank goodness your hospital is acting quickly Marydoll and hoping that you are soon feeling better and reassured.

Housework this morning before taking Peggy to the vet for her booster jab.

Aldi and Morrisons had a good selection of plants for sale yesterday. I got a bit carried away, completely forgetting I’m going away for Easter. My conservatory looks like a garden centre. ?

Hope everyone has a good day.

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 14-Apr-22 07:18:12

Morning all from a slightly damp looking West Oxfordshire. I am off to London later to stay with son and his family. I usually drive but as I’m still getting bouts of post covid fatigue I will drive to Oxford and get the train. There are then two tubes and a short walk. I will come back on the train with my other son tomorrow. He is coming back for Easter. Daughter will come home on Saturday. At least I’ve already prepared most of the Easter Sunday lunch feast!

Gagagran Thu 14-Apr-22 07:18:39

Good Morning everyone from a foggy south coast 8.0c. Set to clear and brighten up later.

Feeling a bit washed out after another poor night. I was in a deep sleep and was wakened by a series of very loud noises. In my half awake state I though it was a donkey braying outside my bedroom door until I realised it was DH having one of his prolonged (and loud) sneezing fits! Took ages to drop off again then and surfaced several times through the night.

It's my WI meeting today with an Easter Bonnet parade and I have made, and will wear my creation as seen above. Not a pretty-pretty one but might raise a smile!

Really sorry to hear the dreaded virus has caught you Marydoll and hope that you get sorted at the hospital. I have said a little prayer for you as requested.

Sending supportive thoughts and good wishes to all Grans with worries and problems. Keep strong. Tomorrow is another day. flowers sunshine

brook2704 Thu 14-Apr-22 07:24:56

Gingster Thu 14-Apr-22 07:25:40

Good morning all and it’s a bright one here in Essex.

A busy day today - shopping, more baking and preps for family day tomorrow. Eldest gd coming this afternoon to lend a hand and then staying overnight. Haven’t seen her since February as she’s away at Uni.

Marydoll - I hope all goes well for you ?.

Welcome to all new posters ?.

Wishing you all a pleasant day. ???

Grandmadinosaur Thu 14-Apr-22 07:26:35

Good morning all from East Yorkshire where it is warm and a blue sky.

Oh Marydoll so sorry to hear your news especially after all your efforts to avoid the virus.
I hope everything goes well for you ??

Welcome echt and all other new posters.

Yesterday was a lovely day spent with GS. We went to the park, had lunch at a cafe and baked buns. He also amused himself playing with his floor mat and his cars that run on it. He didn’t seem as frantic as after school when we have him. Obviously he has more energy to get rid of then after being stuck in a classroom!
No plans for today. I might meet DIL and GC for coffee after lunch.

Take care everyone.

baubles Thu 14-Apr-22 07:26:48

Good morning Mick, morning all from cloudy South Lanarkshire.

The best laid plans aft gang aglay Mattie, I hope the resumption of the drugs won’t upset your DH today.

Ah Marydoll I’m sorry the virus eventually got to you, you are in my prayers.

It’s my day off work today to allow me to do our usual childminding in the Capital. A different kind of busy today.

Welcome to this lovely thread echt.

Hope everyone finds something to make them smile today.

Scentia Thu 14-Apr-22 07:29:13

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where the sun has found his hat and it still fits?
DD went to the EPAU for a scan last night following her bleeding and the little tiger is still intact and looking healthy with a strong heartbeat. She is nearly 8 weeks pregnant❤️ It was very much a shock to be pregnant as she had a coil fitted but they (DSiL) will get their head around it soon enough!!
Off to work then on nanna duties at lunchtime. Not sure if I will cope with three?
Take care everyone and I will read your news at tea break time.

Grandmadinosaur Thu 14-Apr-22 07:33:01

Scentia what lovely news. Congratulations to you all.

Grammaretto Thu 14-Apr-22 07:37:42

Good Morning from the Scottish Borders where it's supposed to be warm and sunny today but instead it's driech.
Oh dear Marydoll . I am sorry to hear you haven't escaped covid
Hope all goes well and you make a good recovery and are not too unwell.
I am taking aged P to visit her DGGc today. Should I? Probably not but she wants to go.
My helper discovered she has headlice yesterday. Oh the joys. She must have arrived with them from her previous host family....
Welcome echt and my good wishes to Melbourne. A great city. smile
Have as best a day as you can everyone.
