So excited- my granddaughter is in labour having a little girl. So hoping she has her today, Easter Sunday. It would be really special. We have 5 hours to go here being ahead in time.
Any of you born on a Special day ? I was actually due Christmas Day but didn’t quite make it . One of our granddaughters was born 15 th March so we told her all about the Ides of March . My uncle was Boxing Day.

"Happy Birthday" granfromafar!!

I was born on 1 July ........ Princess Diana's birthday sad

It's my birthday today so often falls around Easter. The day I was born in 1955 is the day Albert Einstein died. I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions!

I was born in a leap year and very annoyingly missed 29th February by two days. If only I’d been born on that day I’d be much younger ?

My birthday is the shortest day so I have always felt a bit cheated! And I hated being given ‘joint birthday and Christmas presents’ ?
DD was born on Easter Saturday ?

nanna8 - I didn’t hold it against my mother, it was simply a statement of fact. She went on to have many more children, but I was the most ‘inopportune’ baby.

My DGD was born on Hallowe’en and she can be quite bewitching….!

I was not born on the holiday, but my birthday does fall on Easter at time. I hate it those years.

My sister's Birthday is on (US) Mother's Day this year. She doesn't love it.

My husband and daughter both have birthday's at Halloween. It ebbs and flows each year if they love it or hate it.

My niece in law's birthday is the day after Christmas. She is not a fan.

In my life, I know more people who do not like having a birthday on a "special day" than who like it.

Congrats on the new family addition!

S2 born late evening of New Years's Eve. Had to get a move on to prevent NYD. No mail delivery then and and didn't want him to miss the thrill of the Postie. Things we do/think!

Oh my, grannyactivist. You know she probably just came out with that without thinking and may not have really meant it ! One of my children was conceived after my husband had had a vasectomy ( no, we couldn’t wait long enough). She found out and I had a job on to convince her she was very much a wanted baby and loved and she was definitely meant to be here.

I was my parents third child, born on their third wedding anniversary. I was obviously not mum’s favourite anniversary gift as she told me it was really hard for her as they ‘didn’t have abortion then’! ?

Yay- baby was born on Easter Sunday, all are well. That’s our 4th great grandchild, feeling so blessed.

My twin grandsons were born on New Year's Eve. We were hoping they would be born on different dates but the labour was pretty quick and they arrived around 8pm, December 31st 2012.

ginny Sun 17-Apr-22 14:57:25

My birthday is on St. Swithans day.

Jaxjacky

My mums first grand-child in the family was born on Ist January just narrowly missing 31st December by 5 minutes.
Another grand-child was born on 17th March St. Patricks day so my mum was happy as we have Irish ancestry.
My own children and my grand-children were not born on any calendar special day but all their birthdays are priority special days for me and all of them memorized and never forgotten.

Ailidh Sun 17-Apr-22 13:01:10

I was born on the same date as Emperor Hirohito.

My mother had hoped I'd be born day earlier on my father's birthday but I was late. I know she was teasing when she would tell me this but it felt like an early failure.....

Macmary Sun 17-Apr-22 12:56:15

I was born on 1st May. 1st child. 1st grandaughter. I was forever a May Queen in my family. Also special later in life to my Russian friends.

I wasn't but my son was barn on Easter Saturday, 2 weeks early.
The only thing was that his grandparents (in laws) were away by about 3 hours, as was my SiL and family and every other family member! (My parents were here in the UK, I was in Oz)
MiL didn't see him until he was 3 days old.
My no ex husband went off to ride in a speedway match the day after he was born, so I didn't even see him (apart from at the birth) for 2 days as he decided to stay overnight with my FiLrather than travel back the same day - apparently I was fine, because I was in hospital!
