So excited- my granddaughter is in labour having a little girl. So hoping she has her today, Easter Sunday. It would be really special. We have 5 hours to go here being ahead in time.
Any of you born on a Special day ? I was actually due Christmas Day but didn’t quite make it . One of our granddaughters was born 15 th March so we told her all about the Ides of March . My uncle was Boxing Day.

I was born at Easter
I think it's nice in one way but has its downsides.
I rerember as a child having parties and children would bring an Easter egg as a present. Sometimes I suspected it was a spare one they already had lying around.
I wanted real presents.angry

Yup- I get birthday and Christmas rolled into one, I know what you mean! Ok now but not so good when you are a young child.

I was born on 24 May, Empire Day, it was apparently then. Now it’s Commonwealth Day and completely ignored. My parents said they put the flags out for my birthday which was true and a lovely, though irrelevant, thought!

I was born on the anniversary of the day the Magna Carta was signed in 1215, also the Black Prince's birth.
These are the only facts I remember from the set of encyclopaedias I had as a child. smile

I’ve just involuntarily started singing the special song I was told too!

“What is the meaning of Empire Day?
Why do the cannons roar”?

Anyone know any more please?

First Gdc was born on April 23rd, St George’s Day.

A brother was born on December 21st, shortest day of the year.,

Christmas Day and my sibling's also!!! So not only did I not get to celebrate or have a party when I was little I also had to share my birthday. I do get 2 presents and a birthday 'hour' when I am the only one allowed to open presents. My husband also books a nice restaurant after Christmas.

My grandson was born on st Patricks day in Ireland on about his fourth birthday he caught chicken pox and couldn’t have his expected party, at great disappointment, as his spots had gone my daughter took him to a st Patricks day parade in town as compensation
When his next birthday came round he said are they putting my parade on again he thought it was done especially for him

My oldest was born at Easter. My PIL’s brought him a chocolate rabbit as a present. I ate it on his behalf. grin

My mum’s mother was born on 29th of February as was her cousin.

My sister was born on Maundy Thursday, and one of my friends on Christmas day. My oldest grandson was born on my birthday which was special to me

My elder two children share a birthday two years apart. This is also their great grandmother’s birthday. My mother and mother-in-law also shared a birthday. Mum was 15 years younger.

Eldest son was born on his dads birthday . He was 6 weeks premature.

jaylucy Sun 17-Apr-22 12:48:07

I wasn't but my son was barn on Easter Saturday, 2 weeks early.
The only thing was that his grandparents (in laws) were away by about 3 hours, as was my SiL and family and every other family member! (My parents were here in the UK, I was in Oz)
MiL didn't see him until he was 3 days old.
My no ex husband went off to ride in a speedway match the day after he was born, so I didn't even see him (apart from at the birth) for 2 days as he decided to stay overnight with my FiLrather than travel back the same day - apparently I was fine, because I was in hospital!

I was born on 1st May. 1st child. 1st grandaughter. I was forever a May Queen in my family. Also special later in life to my Russian friends.

Ailidh Sun 17-Apr-22 13:01:10

I was born on the same date as Emperor Hirohito.

My mother had hoped I'd be born day earlier on my father's birthday but I was late. I know she was teasing when she would tell me this but it felt like an early failure.....

My mums first grand-child in the family was born on Ist January just narrowly missing 31st December by 5 minutes.
Another grand-child was born on 17th March St. Patricks day so my mum was happy as we have Irish ancestry.
My own children and my grand-children were not born on any calendar special day but all their birthdays are priority special days for me and all of them memorized and never forgotten.
