Maddyone I'm not sure if I really know how to spot trolls. I thought I recognised all the names on this thread. I need to wise up and pay more attention!

I'd just like to say that I wasn't accusing of being a troll.

Trolling is rather different - it means joining in with very unpleasant comments on social media about people in this public eye and in this case it's worse because it is about a 10 year old child.

I'm shocked and I do think the whole thread should be deleted.

Trolling children is not what Gransnet should do, surely?

I wasn't accusing a particular poster of being 'a troll'.

One of mine carried more weight than the others. Now as adults, he is much broader stature wise and much taller too. I think it was just how he was made. He is like a viking

I was going to add. I don't follow famous people online so I haven't seen any of these photos that apparently have been circulating but in the old days Hello magazine and that other one, is it OK magazine? always used to have regular photos of Royals and famous people in their beautiful homes with their beautiful families - which they got paid huge amounts of money for. Is it any different?

I noticed she had put on weight but it’s the sort of thing you notice about anyone. She looks a lovely normal little girl. Leave her alone.

Has anyone been critical of Harper on Gransnet? I don’t think so.

She looks natural and dressed age appropriately a lovely girl it's shameful anyone can be nasty and unkind towards a child

maddyone If you look through the thread, you’ll see that a particular poster has had her comments removed.

Oh my goodness, I hadn’t noticed that. I can’t remember what she said although I did read the thread last night. Maybe I skimmed over those comments and didn’t really register them.
We should never be unkind about children nor make comments about their appearance. There can be unexpected consequences if the child overhears ie anorexia, bulimia, mental health difficulties, low self esteem etc.

Completely agree. It’s bad enough being nasty about adults but shameless if done to children.

Ladies (and gents), it wasn’t my intention to upset Harper or any other youngster. If I did then I was out of order and apologise.

I was addressing my “Leave her alone” comment as a general comment to trolls and not directed at anyone on gransnet.

That’s OK Rosalyn my posts have been deleted as not ‘following guidelines’. I would never dream of ‘trolling’ anybody let alone children.

I really think "brand Beckham" should have kept their children out of the public eye .It can be done .Then they wouldn't have folk trolling their daughter .
I think Andy Murray has been very successful at keeping his family out of the limelight ,in fact I dont think I've ever seen any photos of his children in the media ..and I'm not even sure how many he has now .So well done to celebs who do realise their children shouldn't be used for publicity.If you use them for the cute factor you cant complain if people have a different opinion of them
