That's what I was thinking Hetty58 animals can be manipulative too.smile

sodapop, my JR was friendly with other dogs - until attacked by a boxer. She was picked up and tossed around like a rat. When the boxer was caught, she limped away with no visible injuries - so I carried her home to call the vet. When I tried to put her down to walk - she limped and looked pathetic.

As soon as we were indoors, though, she ran around as usual, happy as ever. The vet found nothing wrong and called it a 'sympathy limp'.

Maybe kirito34's cat enjoys the attention he gets by limping? Can he be filmed when nobody's in the room?

GrannyLaine it's true. He's a whopper!

Are you sure he is not being a drama queen kirito34 we had a JR who produced a limp or waved his paw at visitors when he wanted attention.

I would go to the vet again, a second opinion from another vet is valuable

We had the first wasp in our house today. Could your puss have found one he tries to play with? If his hind paws are ok that might be a sign he's been patting at something harmful?

Twelve kilos??????
Nooooooo!!!! A cat that weighs as much as a 2 year old child? That can't be right

Made me chuckle Aveline imagining your cat in cahoots with the vet. grin

Our 12 kg (yes 12 kg) suddenly developed a limp. We took him to the vet who couldn't find anything wrong and the next day he was fine again. We reckon he's got a deal going with the vet. That visit cost £86. Had to go though.

At 5kg he's pretty heavy for a cat. Is the vet concerned about that? If he isn't consistently limping on one side it seems unlikely to be an injury but as he's showing signs of being in pain, all you can do is go back to the vet for further investigation.

Take him back to the vet! Without delay! What’s the point of posting this here, we are not vets.

He's a 4.5 year old nurtured male, an indoor only cat around 5kg. Never had any health problems. He started limping around a week ago with his front left paw. At first we thought he might have landed off or he might have played a bit too hard with the other cat since the limping wasn't that bad. Then he stopped limping completely and after a day started limping with his front right paw. That was kinda weird so i took him to the vet, told her everything, she checked him out and concluded that it's nothing serious probably and gave him some painkillers. When we got back he wasn't limping at all again (probably because of the painkillers) but today (day after the vet visit) he started limping but with his front left paw again, and this time it looked a lot worse. There seems to be no swelling, all his claws are there and the pain seems to be in the paw only. He can't step on it, and if he does he lets out a small painful meow, but his front right paw is better than ever. He still acts normal, eats, sleeps, grooms, uses toilet, plays, meows. It just seems off how he limps one day with one leg, then doesn't limp the next day at all, and the third day he limps with the other leg.
