Working in someone else's home
I notice Hermes have changed their name to Evri. Is this so we forget how awful they can be? In the past couple of months since we got a new courier things have improved here thank goodness.

We get excellent service from Hermes here and in our previous town.
I use Hermes now evri fir my catalogue delivery and always fine. They’ve had the same delivery driver for ages so that might be it.
They are advertising for Drivers, £10-£15 per hour now. Hopefully their work practises have changed, no mention of an amount per parcel.

Why are people not boycotting deliveries in this country?
(Because it is much easier to have things delivered to your front door rather than go and shop for them yourself.
And of course most of the High street retail business has been destroyed as a result.)
I think the treatment of delivery staff is terrible, and would happily pay more for deliveries if the extra money went to them, either by increasing their wages or by allowing more of them to be employed and taking the pressure off. I wouldn’t be happy to pay more to increase the profits for the owners, though, and nor am I prepared to go back to High Street shopping. I really think that that ship has sailed, and that town planners should be looking for imaginative and community-based ways to use town centres, rather than dragging out the demise of retail.

I hear a lot about Hermes delivery people! But I can honestly say ours were brilliant can’t fault them, had another delivery today too
Perhaps I'm just lucky but all of my local delivery people are lovely!
Polite, friendly and helpful. One even brings a treat for my dog!
Amazon have been a pain, lately.

men seem to think it's ok to press the buzzer multiple times, or just keep it continually pressed until I get to the door.
I have had the same Hermes lady for over 10 years. She and her son were excellent. However they seem to have disappeared into the ether.
I ordered a package and the driver (who was only coming from the next town) put it down as a "failed delivery" and returned it to sender without leaving a card or attempting another delivery. This is on a day when I accepted 3 other deliveries and my cctv shows that this particular company came nowhere near my house.
Now the b****y seller has refunded my money without even giving me the option to have it sent by a better method. Guess whose getting 1 star for feedback.
Hermes are brilliant here and always have been. Tracking system works a treat and drivers, all of them, are excellent. As soon as it’s put in our post box (end of our track) I get an email with a photo if it.
We use them to send parcels too. I use the drop off shops as it’s quicker and easier than RM where I always had to queue. Cheaper than RM too.
Only used their collection service once as it was large parcel. Again, very efficient and on time.
We've had no problem up to now with Hermes/Evri. But Yodel is another story.....
Hi Kittye. Yes,, but it's every time and I've run out of nice things to say about them. And it's trickier these days as they want me to log in first, etc. I find it confusing.

Yes, as I said upthread I am expecting to get home tonight to find a valuable parcel left on the step, if it hasn’t been stolen, I don’t know how it will have been wrapped (it’s not coming direct from Apple, who are excellent at delivery, with timed slots, signatures etc - I think they use DHL), but I have had books in cardboard wrappers soaked by rainwater before now. At one time they would be taken back to the sorting office for collection, which was fine, but that is only open for an hour a day now (and even then in the early morning). The service is dreadful and the cost keeps going up and up.
henetha you’re not being asked to praise them. There’s a choice of whether you’re satisfied or not with delivery. That way the company know what kind of service you’re getting.
I've never had any problems with Hermes/Evri; pleasant deliverers, friendly and efficient.
What does slightly irritate me though is being asked to praise them, on my phone, every time I have a delivery.

Hermes/Evri very good here - parcels arrive when they say they will and are left where I ask for them to be.
If small parcels come with the postman that's great but the RM parcel service has come unstuck with me a few times by being too quick. For example, the tracking email says delivery on Weds, so I arrange to be home, only to arrive hone from an outing on Tuesday to find my plants wilting on the doorstep. This has happened twice this year, so now I'll check which company delivers before placing an order.
I don't know why they have changed their name but Hermes is the only one in our area with local delivery people. Apart from Post Office but everyone else has lots of different drivers and tracking can be from anywhere.
My Hermes delivery man is great,always on schedule much better than Royal Mail.
I guess in the end it’s down to the individual driver, regardless of which company it is.
Yes there are some wonderful Hermes now Evri drivers out there but no thanks to the way they were treated by Hermes. Going on the Evri website it looks like they are trying to improve their working conditions with pension contributions, albeit paltry, and even paternity leave.
My experience is very negative.
I ordered some beautiful plates from John Lewis & the Hermes driver literally threw the box onto my door step, resulting in damages obviously. ?
I’m always surprised when I hear bad reports about Hermes.
Our Hermes delivery man Michael is brilliant. He’s been delivering to us for years. Always polite and reliable, especially over the last couple of years.

I have used My Hermes, now Evri, for many years for my business without any problems. RM, that is quite a different matter.
Yes, RM and Parcelforce are the worst IMO. We are away a lot, and Parcelforce in particular often leave parcels on the doorstep in all weathers, where they can be seen from the road.
I ordered an Apple keyboard that was meant to be delivered on Friday (by which time we’ll be home), and got an email to say it was delivered yesterday. It can’t have been properly delivered, as there’s no one there, and the message just said ‘dropped off’, not ‘left with neighbour’, so I assume it will have just been dumped, too. It’s really not acceptable, considering the cost of postage. The Hermes lady is always reliable though.
