I notice Hermes have changed their name to Evri. Is this so we forget how awful they can be? In the past couple of months since we got a new courier things have improved here thank goodness.

They're probably embracing the non binary approach.
Themese.

More likely so no one knows who they are and associates them with appalling service

Our Hermes guy was fine. Friendly and efficient.

Ilovecheese Tue 19-Apr-22 14:55:25

Our Hermes lady was very good.
Most companies change their names so that the name means nothing in any language. That way they avoid any embarrasing misunderstandings.
Maybe some one somewhere objects to Greek Gods.

Hermes have been great around here. No problems at all.

Aldom Tue 19-Apr-22 15:12:55

Our Hermes delivery lady has a wonderful reputation for her efficient and thoughtful service.

Redhead56 Tue 19-Apr-22 15:16:09

Our Hermes delivery guy was really reliable and helpful.

Same here Kate. I don’t think people fully appreciate the punishing schedule the drivers have to keep to.

Hopefully all of us with conscientious drivers get to keep them under the branding change. Mine is a gem.

Rosie51 Tue 19-Apr-22 15:29:15

I have to say that since the name change my deliveries have been perfect, but we do have a new person so that's probably the reason! The previous guy was awful, I was obviously towards the end of the round and would see my delivery status change from out for delivery to nobody at home which was an absolute lie. He did usually deliver the next day but it was a pain, and when challenged why he didn't put a card through the door he just said the 'system' defaulted to nobody home for all undelivered parcels.

I do appreciate they have a punishing schedule but Amazon is the same and never let me down.

Hermes has made massive improvements here.
Was just starting to be happy with them!

Yammy Tue 19-Apr-22 15:36:30

Our Hermes lady is lovely and goes out of her way to help.
Just before Christmas, there was a big scam going on in Suffolk with the Hermes delivery and the police were involved. Maybe they are trying to get away from their reputation.

Joane123 Tue 19-Apr-22 15:37:30

I have used My Hermes, now Evri, for many years for my business without any problems. RM, that is quite a different matter.

I've always had good service from them. Pleasant too.

Never had any problems with HERMES. DPD …..now they really all terrible, can never understand why reputable companies still use them.

Rosie51 Tue 19-Apr-22 16:11:14

Isn't it interesting all our different experiences? I've always loved DPD deliveries, being told the hour during which a parcel will be delivered, and have never had a failure. Royal Mail are also brilliant, my post lady is brilliant.

argymargy Tue 19-Apr-22 16:11:51

I too have never had any problems with Hermes - either sending or receiving. Our local person is excellent and has many loyal fans.

Germanshepherdsmum Tue 19-Apr-22 16:12:33

A Hermes driver from the Norwich depot was involved in stealing parcels recently, he was charged with theft and his wife with receiving stolen property. Not surprised they want to distance themselves from that sort of thing.

B9exchange Tue 19-Apr-22 16:16:40

Hermes was the messenger to all the other Greek Gods. Perhaps a bit too high brow and non-inclusive? smile Evri say 'It's a statement of intent of our commitment to leading the way in creating responsible delivery experiences for Evri one, Evri where' Presumable their advertising department can have fun with any conceivable pun on 'every' from now on!

Germanshepherdsmum Tue 19-Apr-22 16:18:56

I suppose someone thought that was a clever idea.

I suppose someone thought that was a clever idea.

But it's not.

I found Hermes ok, both delivering and collecting returns from home.

My Hermes driver is excellent. Always a lovely smile and and a pleasant manner. All the neighbours like him.

paddyann54 Tue 19-Apr-22 17:43:27

We've had the same courier for years and she's brilliant ,always helpful always on time and cheerful I think it a case of the bad news is heard and all the good Hermes employees get dragged down with them

We only seem to have Evri now. Not had anything delivered by Hermes for some weeks.
