March Outs do tend to linger in our memories, don't they dustyangel! We lived in MQs in the 70s and 80s. When we started there was a very noticeable distinction between officers and men, and we were only supplied with basic furniture. So don't know about bedding. It was the 2/6 per nail hole in merlot's post that really triggered the memory for me. Our friend, after he had dutifully filled in every tiny hole with polyfiller, was told he was still going to be charged for each filled hole as the Families Officer marching him out could still see where they'd been. So he got a hammer and a nail and replaced the holes!
