Is there anyone else that is affected by the weather? I’m in a foul mood and I know it’s because it’s very windy! It always affects me.

Germanshepherdsmum Sat 23-Apr-22 15:21:16

Me too! My Grandad was the same!

Elizabeth27 Sat 23-Apr-22 15:28:55

Me too, I get so angry when it is windy. I have tried to do a few jobs in the garden today but have given up as I do not have the patience.

I am already dreading the summer as I cannot stand the heat either.

Germanshepherdsmum Sat 23-Apr-22 16:02:00

Nor can I. That’s another thing that makes me grumpy.

Davida1968 Sat 23-Apr-22 16:03:51

Yes! For me the wind is really depressing. And cold.

FannyCornforth Sat 23-Apr-22 16:16:06

I can’t cope with the sun and heat.
I loathe the summer.
Children and animals are a nightmare when it’s windy.
They get very skittish!

DD has a friend who said that the wind always seemed to make children naughty!

I get a headache if there's going to be a thunderstorm, can always tell even before it arrives.

My thermostat isn't good, can't cope with heat, cold or sudden changes in temperature, FannyCornforth.

I'm very guided by the weather. I hate cold wind but today it was a warm wind so that was ok, ok enough for a good walk but not to work in the garden.

I intensely dislike long grey days and feel grumpy then, also when it is unbearably hot. On persistent rainy days I usually do a lot of cleaning so the day isn't wasted.

When the sun comes out I feel my mood lift every time. I get productive and also need to go out.

Blossoming Sat 23-Apr-22 16:25:39

I love long hot summer days and summer rain after a dry period.

I don’t like cold, wet, windy, grey days, they affect my muscles and make my bones ache.

Teacheranne Sat 23-Apr-22 16:31:17

Combine a windy day with a full moon and teaching in the classroom was an almost impossible task!

lixy Sat 23-Apr-22 16:36:46

Teacheranne You hit the nail on the headgrin!

I love being buffeted by the wind myself, especially on clear, cool, sunny days. I get grumpy in the heat.

rafichagran Sat 23-Apr-22 16:46:42

I love the wind, and I like snow, I have to say that I am not a summer person either.
I like a windy Autumn day that is dry and I can walk in. I love the howling when I am in bed and I always open the window.

Grandmadinosaur Sat 23-Apr-22 16:53:53

Definitely. If it’s a grey miserable day I don’t seem to be able to motivate myself. Also as you say Blossoming if it’s damp it affects your bones etc.
As long as I can see a bright, sunny sky I am a happy bunny. It lifts my mood and inspires me to do so much.

Hildagard Sat 23-Apr-22 18:05:47

I am so glad that it’s not just me!

ginny Sat 23-Apr-22 18:16:40

I always feel more positive and energetic on warm bright days.
Hate being cold windy or days when it drizzles.
Warm dry weather eases my aches and pains too.

Mapleleaf Sat 23-Apr-22 18:19:12

I really dislike those grey, dark and dank oppressive days that we get so frequently in Jan/Feb/Mar. They really seem to get me down. The damp permeates my bones and makes them ache. Strong winds, driving rain and cold also affect me. I think I’m a person who likes moderate, not extreme. So; moderate heat, moderate rain, moderate breeze! ??

I, too, get a headache when a summer storm is brewing.

Todays breezy weather hasn’t affected me because it’s not been too cold and has been coupled with sunshine. (Everything looks so much better when the sun shines and the sky is blue, doesn’t it?) When we went out for a walk this afternoon, the sound of the breeze blowing through the trees was lovely.

I am the same, I hate the heat! This cooler spring sunshine has been lovely, but even then there's been a few days that have been a bit much for me.

Miserable rainy days make me feel miserable too and dap days make me hurt .... can't win!

VioletSky Sat 23-Apr-22 18:26:49

I always hurt more when its cold and that is bound to effect my mood so i am sitting on my electric blanket just resting and feel a lot better

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 23-Apr-22 18:29:14

I hate the wind as well, warm or cold, I just stay indoors, sadly we live in a windy area.

Warm weather is better for my Arthritis.

NotSpaghetti Sat 23-Apr-22 18:29:49

I'm another who loves the wind (not if it's icy cold) as it makes me feel sprightly and alive!
Maybe I was a horse last time round!

grannyactivist Sat 23-Apr-22 18:30:33

Teacheranne - I remember those days well, we used to arrive in the staff room and commiserate with one another. ?

Serendipity22 Sat 23-Apr-22 19:42:26

Absolutely definitely...... a glimmer of the sun and my whole outlook changes for the better.

A temperature of about 18°, 19°, 20° and I am the happiest gal on the planet.

The wind puts an absolute spanner in the works.

Too hot and I turn to mush and 'home' in on how unbearable it is.

Too cold, I wrap up, job done, it doesn't affect me like the wind and heat.

Rain, snow, hail, sleet and anything else naff, I just adapt as i see necessary....

henetha Sat 23-Apr-22 21:18:43

Definitely. I hate wind and am terrified of lightning. And I don't like extreme heat or cold. Bad weather really niggles me.

Redhead56 Sat 23-Apr-22 23:13:52

I was driving my car in the 80s playing a disco bazooki tape from Greece. My car was struck by lightning and my tape was melted! I don't like thunder and lightning I hate scorching sun I had second degree sunburn when young in Greece. I have a miserable time especially when it's damp because of arthritis. I just crave pleasant dry days.

MissAdventure Sat 23-Apr-22 23:18:12

Grey, rainy days make me feel gloomy, and scorching hot ones make me feel murderous.
I like a lovely, breezy day; I don't even mind the cold.
