Can you remember the product from the jingle or catch phrase?
I thought this might be fun

I’ll start with this one from when I was little - we watched a lot of ITV in those days.

Tense, nervous headache? …then take ……..

“If you like a lot of chocolate on your biscuit join our…”

Kate1949 Sun 01-May-22 18:13:43

A ? A day, helps you work rest and play.

Mars. Probably I’ve missed someone saying that.

My husband always calls it corned dog Granmarderby, as did his dad.

SachaMac Campari ? God knows what that was.
I drank things like Gold Label at that time ….

Chestnut Sun 01-May-22 17:53:29

'Fly Fishing' by JR Hartley anyone?

What was that advertising?

Chestnut Sun 01-May-22 17:51:18

Lorraine Chase is famous for 'Looton Airport' and it was for Campari which I loved!

Granmarderby10 Sun 01-May-22 17:49:03

Tilly,my Dad called it Corned Dog, absolutely NO idea why though?

SachaMac Sun 01-May-22 17:46:07

Were you truly wafted here from Paradise…No Luton Airport??

Granmarderby10 Sun 01-May-22 17:45:49

Vaguely recall Swiskit on the shelves but never fancied one

TillyTrotter Sun 01-May-22 17:44:00

Shake and Vac Chestnut .

Thank you Granmarderby I really had forgotten that one. ?

Going off-piste - my mum would send me to the shop for the old man next door. He asked me to fetch Bully beef and I said “what’s that?” He threw his head back and laughed at me “don’t you know what it is?” It turned out to be a can of corned beef.

Granmarderby10 Sun 01-May-22 17:43:35

Kate1949 - Feeling a little hoarse ? Go suck as Zube

Kate1949 Sun 01-May-22 17:37:07

I think a Swisskit was a biscuit Chestnut.

Chestnut Sun 01-May-22 17:32:55

Use the ............... and put the freshness back.
One of my favourites as it was so wonderfully tacky!

HowVeryDareYou Sun 01-May-22 17:31:21

Poshpaws Use Elnett? Some hairspray anyway, I think

Chestnut Sun 01-May-22 17:30:51

I remember I'd risk it for a Swisskit but I don't even know what that is!
It's amazing how these adverts are lodged in our heads after all these years. Clearly they worked much better than today's fancy offerings.

poshpaws Sun 01-May-22 17:27:59

Has this one been done? (I RTWT but can't remember!)

Does She or Doesn’t She?

Kate1949 Sun 01-May-22 17:02:07

biglouis Sun 01-May-22 16:58:19

Granmarderby10 Sun 01-May-22 16:52:17

Tilly Trotter here goes: Mum sends young son off to the shops for a tin of Plumrose Chopped Ham With Pork
So he doesn’t forget what he’s got to ask for, the boy repeats the name over and over while he dashes and ends up breathlessly asking for a tin of Plopped Ham With Chalk !
