Good Morning Everyone,
Its grey with that chilly wind this morning in Brackley .
Thank you for birthday wishes , today I will do my usual trip to Bicester , before returning to watch cycling mid afternoon.
I was disappointed to read on the Beeb red button that Cinderella which I am booked to see in September , is closing Mid June .
Take Care,
Mick
Just seen this GG hope your DD is okay.
Hoping your DD is improving GG13 what a worry, sending ?
What a worry for you GG13 I hope she improves soon
Back again
Thinking of you ^grandMattie*
We had a medical emergency earlier, DD had her hair cut and coloured on Saturday, she had a patch test beforehand.
By Sunday evening her scalp felt tight so she started taking antihistamine, unfortunately by the early hours today she was swelling quite severely along with bright red weals travelling over face and neck. DH rushed her to A & E whilst i herded the GC and got them back here.
They are pumping her full of antihistamines as I type, so just waited now.
Keep safe and well folks ?♀️?
Good morning from a wet Yorkshire .start of decorating oh doing it but he hates doing it but needs must. GM ? Take it easy Marydoll and Gwenis great .To those on holidays a great time .
Good morning from a sunny Algarve, the threatened rain didn’t appear yesterday and thunderstorms have been added to todays forecast.
We could do without wet weather today as the upholstered furniture is being cleaned this afternoon and I was hoping for a good blow through the room to dry it quickly.
A shame about Cinderella being cancelled Mick, my favourite pantomime.
grandMattie, I’m glad that you have your DD with you for a while
Good Morning all from cloudy and chilly Harrogate. Thank you for all your lovely birthday wishes yesterday, I did have a lovely time with the family. DGS loves dressing up in DGDs dressing up clothes, they were busy dressing each other. My DD1 is a lovely cook as well, it was roast lamb with all the trimmings.
Sadly I had a lousy night last night, so I sympathise Marydoll - I probably ate too much yesterday!! But today I am good for nothing! Hope Ashcombe and Pantglas have good journeys today.
So glad your DH is on the up, GrandMattie and your DD is giving you a break
Have the best day possible folks
It's better than the forecast said, here in south Dartmoor. The sun is shining unexpectedly.
Good morning all from a grey bit of Perthshire. All taxiing went well yesterday - just two journeys to do today, then home tomorrow.
So glad the pain relief is doing its job for your DH grandmattie, and hugs (there are no adequate words) for Philip's birthday. Marydoll have a good rest. Sorry about your Cinderella ticket Mick - so disappointing. Best wishes to all the May birthday celebrators - we have four in our family too. Haven't had time to read all posts yet, but I hope everyone has a good day x
Good Morning all from a rather dull Co Armagh , it’s a nothing day here , nothing planned
Family are home from Co Fermanagh, seems the weather was better there than here , it is a lovely place to visit
Good morning all from a grey and not very warm Dunblane.
Back from a lovely weekend with all the family at Whinfell Centre Parks near Penrith.
It was delayed two years by Covid. Was meant to be for DH’s 70th in 2020.
What a place that is they must make a fortune, good fun though!
Thoughts with all those not so fortunate.
Good morning Mick and all from a dull and still chilly northwest coast.
My brother in law’s partner in the south has died, just a few months after he passed away. I was really fond of her and it has saddened me. My DD being nearby has been a great blessing to her in her final months, visiting regularly even though she is busy flying and working at hospitals (taken on since Covid) She only cut her hair last Tuesday and sent me photos.
I am singing at sheltered accommodation today and have set aside a parasol, hat and boa for “When I take my morning promenade” made famous by the naughty Marie Lloyd, as well as some other pieces. I’m looking forward to it.
My hairdresser has sent a message saying she has a doctors appointment tomorrow and could I change to another day. I’m going away for the weekend on Friday and it looks as if I might have to carry on with the root spray…
chrissielou grandMattie thoughts to you ☘️??
Good morning all from damp South Lanarkshire.
Sorry about your show Mick.
Marydoll take it easy today and I hope you have a better night tonight.
for you gMattie, make the most of your DD’s visit.
This is the first day in ages that I’ve nothing in particular to do or anywhere to be. I ought to do some proper cleaning but I’ll see how the day goes, I may just curl up in a chair and read.
Lucky you Sar, we once had a really enjoyable holiday around that part of France, have a wonderful time.
May we all have a little sunshine in our day.
Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s cloudy with occasional rain showers in my corner of Lancashire, currently 9°C.
Sorry to read about your cancelled show Mick.
I have been up and about early for once, as I had to be at the blood clinic for 8am. This means I have to adjust my drug routine to make sure I have taken all the necessary meds before I go. It’s complicated because they need to be taken at set intervals. Anyway, all done and dusted now, just have to wait for the results. I’m now snuffling as I forgot the hay fever tablet! I will do it now while I’m enjoying a decaff and a superoat bar.
It’s lovely to read about your visits, travels and trips, enjoy yourselves ???
A warm welcome to any new members I have missed recently.
Fingers crossed for your DD Chrissielou
Thinking of all our grans going through difficult times, virtual hugs and love to all
.
Wishing everyone the best day possible with a ?or two along the way.
Good morning everyone from a dull and grey Northampton. Not raining, and hope it holds off for our health walk this afternoon.
Walked to the garden centre yesterday afternoon, browsed the outdoor plants, had a cup of tea, bought a ceanothus, which I hope to plant after this afternoon's walk. Also bought seeds which I shall scatter in the vain hope of filling in a few bare spots and keeping the weeds down........
Just a bit of pottering this morning, then lunch, then our health walk. Have just got a sausage casserole out of the freezer for dinner tonight.
Thoughts to anyone struggling today
. May we all have a pleasant day.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Dull and damp.
I must not miss my chiropractor appt this morning. I missed it last week. I need it . My back and hip have been grumbling a lot lately.
The smart meter man came yesterday but took one look at the ancient electrics here and said NO. I am rather relieved as I don't like it that, with a smart meter you can be turned off remotely. I felt slightly bullied into ordering one.
Sorry about Cinderella Mick
Relieved about your DH, gMattie but tomorrow will indeed be poignant.
Sorry to hear Marydoll isn't her best today.
See you tomorrow folks.
Midnight Mick and all
Chaos at Gravy Grange and the Gate House (DD home) this morning.
Back later
Good morning Mick and all from grey damp Carlisle.
I'm off very shortly for my 4th booster jab so will have a little nose around the shops while I'm at it. I'll be back later to read all your doings.
I hope you perk up and have a better day than you expect Marydoll.
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning from a dull and almost wet Oxfordshire.
Made a bucket of soup yesterday and gave half to MissOops to take home, ditto the fairy cakes, bread making again today, but to freeze. I might tackle 2 of the bedrooms that still have to be Spring Cleaned, or I might not.
Seeds to plants, runner beans and peas to transplant later, depending on the weather, they are so big they will have to go out and chance their luck with any frosts.
MrOops mate here for supper tonight so I’ll have to sort that out too.
Apart from that nothing to do!
Have a good day everyone GM my thought are with you as always and anyone else who is having a bumpy time ?
Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. Good journey home, although Lisbon airport is a shambles.
Charity shop volunteering today and unpacking properly later. Hoping for a couple of good days for the holiday laundry.
DH is in my good books as he, with help from DS, decorated our bedroom while I was away. It has become a tradition as he did it when I went with the girls to New York many years ago....
Love to all ? x
Good morning all from a rather damp South Yorkshire. The dog is off to the groomers this morning then I need to take my mum for a blood test.
Grandmattie ?
Wishing you all a good day xx
Good morning all and it’s grey and damp here in Essex.
GM a difficult day ahead for you. Lots of memories for you ! ❤️.
Chrissie thoughts with you and your DD today. I do hope all goes well without too much discomfort for her. ?.
Sar lovely to hear you arrived safely and are now ensconsed in Your holiday gite! Have an adventurous day!
Yesterday U3A meeting was interesting. The speaker was engaging and the talk was on The Foundlings Hospital. Some of the talks are rather long-winded and yawn inducing , but this was one of the better ones ?. My friend and I always sit near the back door for a speedy departure. ?
Mick - I was very surprised to read about Cinderella. I saw it last September and it was brill! Hope you get your refund quickly . ?.
Today I have my Bridge club this afternoon. I might go along for the evening session as well. I’ll see how the old brain holds out. ?. They are struggling for players in the evening, so I would like to support them.
Safe journey home Ash
Enjoy LWW - Urms
Take it easy Marydoll
Hope you all have a ‘good’ day.
???
Good morning from a grey and damp NE.
DS and GD2 spent the day with me yesterday and we had a riverside walk and visited the glass centre. Our city was known for it's glass making, at the end of the 19th century there were ten bottle works along the Riverside, in more recent times we just had Pyrex.
I made a prawn curry for dinner which was not too hot and then DS and I had a game of Scrabble, I allowed him to win again.
Haven't heard from my sister in Portugal so I am assuming she made it there, her friend needed a wheelchair as she had injured her knee and would be unable to do any of the tours.
I think I will need to do the laundry as I have the day to myself.
Have a good day.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7°, damp and gloomy. Mick what a shame about your show! I think it's pretty rotten that the cast found out the same way. Ashcombe safe journey home. Pantsglas safe journey to Spain. Marydoll I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad night. ?
Yesterday I bought new bedding for the new bed and picked up a dinosaur duvet cover. Dgs1 will be pleased. I have put dinosaurs decals up on the walls too. They replace the cars and lorries from his previous obsession. I made a pot of lentil soup and will freeze half. The rest of the day was very lazy.
Today the bed is delivered and built. Then I'll start to put things back in the bedroom. Have a good day all.
