Good Morning Everyone,
Its grey with that chilly wind this morning in Brackley .
Thank you for birthday wishes , today I will do my usual trip to Bicester , before returning to watch cycling mid afternoon.
I was disappointed to read on the Beeb red button that Cinderella which I am booked to see in September , is closing Mid June .
Take Care,
Mick

grandMattie Tue 03-May-22 06:13:16

Good morning from a brightening E Kent.
Glad you had a good birthday, Mick. I hope you can change your Cinderella tickets for something else suitable.
DD is here. So lovely to have her. She is taking her dad to Ramsgate for his booster this morning while I go to the nearby supermarket. Will make a change from my 6am forays.
DH seems to have slept better, getting up only once instead of up to six times, not requiring oral analgesia and little moaning from pain. They’re getting there, yay!?
I shall be baking this afternoon. It would have been my Philip’s 40th tomorrow and his boy, his mum, the girlfriend are all coming for a slice of cake and a cuppa. Mixed emotions, bu5 I shall find it hard.
Be happy, I hope the day is gentle to you all. Carpe diem. ???????☀️

Ashcombe Tue 03-May-22 06:29:34

Good morning, Mick. What a disappointment regarding Cinderella but let’s hope something else appeals to you.

It’s good that you have DD to be with you, grandMattie and DH currently, especially with the poignancy of tomorrow. I hope that being with others who loved Philip will help.

We enjoyed our time in Queen's Park yesterday which is big enough to cope with the inevitable large numbers of families making the most of the day. Later we enjoyed an Italian meal in Wheelock, where DGS3 created his own pizza which was then cooked.

After this relaxing weekend, I am travelling home by train today.

Have a good week! ??????

Morning all from a cloudy S Hants. Very disappointing Mickand not the best way to find out, I hope you’re offered something else.
Better news on your DH grandMattie I hope he continues to respond to his medication tweaks and a sad few days with many memories.
Housework day, not my favourite, some seeds to sow and a drive at 4.
Enjoy your day all ??

BlueBalou Tue 03-May-22 06:33:18

Good morning from a slightly damp Wiltshire.
Taking DDog for final checkup today then I think we’ll get fish and chips to eat whilst she charges around a dog walking field near us - after 12 days of restrictions she’s got far too much energy!
A poignant day for you tomorrow grandMattie, sending you a hug ?

Feelingmyage55 Tue 03-May-22 06:54:05

Good morning from 5 degrees in the north of Scotland and cloudy skies. I was expecting some sun.
A belated happy birthday Mick.
I’m off out early to shop as I have stopped food shopping online in an effort to get back to normal. I may treat myself to a cappuccino and fruit scone.
GM I’m pleased you will have support tomorrow.
I have several family birthdays this month too. Count back 40 weeks to the summer holidays.
Time to shake a leg. Have the best day you can.

Good morning from a dull but dry Leicestershire.

Up early as my cleaners always come early.
Hair cut and M£S shopping this afternoon.

Thinking of you GrandMattie flowers

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I still have to take things to a couple of Charity shops. They were closed yesterday, although advertised as open. I may bake a barmbrack loaf and make some chocolate ice cream. There is WI admin to look at too. Not forgetting choosing paint! OH is going to a U3A talk this afternoon so I can do my own thing.

Sar53 Tue 03-May-22 07:04:00

Good morning from a grey and cloudy Bram near Carcassonne.
We arrived yesterday after a long but uneventful drive through the middle of France. We stopped to shop on the way and have made ourselves at home in our holiday gite.
I'm not sure what we will do today but so many lovely villages and historic sites to visit whilst we are here.
We are both well rested after a good night's sleep.
Enjoy Tuesday everyone.
Lots of love from France xxx

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset

Some chores this morning before a gentle walk this afternoon. Final antibiotic today, hooray as they continue to wipe me out. Well, I hope they are the cause and not a fibro flare up.

That sounds a better night for you both grandmattie, will be thinking of you all tomorrow. The closure of Cinderella has come as a shock to many mick, including the cast. I’m sure there will be an alternative or a refund offered. Safe journey home ash.

Hope Tuesday is kind to us all.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 03-May-22 07:04:58

??? nearly forgot the flowers!

Aldom Tue 03-May-22 07:13:19

grandMattie kind, supportive thoughts are with you for Philips 40th birthday. flowers

Marydoll Tue 03-May-22 07:17:51

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where it's 7°C.
You must be so disappointed Mick.

I won't be up to much today, after a very disturbed night. Wishing you all a pleasant day, if you have plans, I hope they go well. For those who are struggling, take care. ?

Urmstongran Tue 03-May-22 07:26:09

No Matt today either. Must be the BH hiatus.

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s been raining in the night! Sorry Pantglas just as you’re on your way over too. White cloud and 40% chance of rain later.

Never mind I shall be wet inside as well as out as my stepfather would say, as its my LWW afternoon! ?? only 4 of us today - my friend on holiday from Bolton, me and the two residentias. Hair salon first - I might ask for a bit of a trim. Best take a brolly this afternoon just in case.

Honestly, was looking in my wardrobe yesterday. What a mish-mash. Sandals/shoes that don’t match bags, ancient stuff I’ve brought over in the past to ‘revitalise’ (ha!) by wearing out here. I’m an impulse buyer. I’m rubbish at putting ‘an outfit’ together it seems. A capsule wardrobe has never been achieved by me after all these years, neither here nor over in Urmston. I need to have an (inexpensive if possible) think about this going forward. Maybe buy white, black and stone coloured linen trousers? I’m trying hard to lose weight so what size? In the meantime dresses are my friend. I’m over thinking this perhaps. Wine and a laugh with friends will do me good. Himself’s been a bit Victor Meldrew the last couple of days....

Enjoy Tuesday all who can. x

ShazzaKanazza Tue 03-May-22 07:29:43

Good morning Mick and everyone from a dull damp Hull.

I saw that Cinderella was cancelled yesterday Mick it came as a surprise to the cast too. I thought it was doing really well.

grandMattie ? thinking of you and your DH as always especially as you approach your sad day tomorrow so pleased you will all be together.

We have a fairly quiet day pottering around. I’ll pop over to mums and pick up her post and check everything is ok with her being away. I also need to go to my Drs to ask about a medication review so I can re order my prescription. But trying to get a review is trying to get blood from a stone. Without one I can’t order my tablets grrr!

Anyway enough of my moaning.

Ash safe journey home and another handsome Grandson picture. I wondered what he was eating until I saw he was building his pizza with pepperoni.
Take care everyone thinking of you all??

brook2704 Tue 03-May-22 07:33:05

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey and cloudy
Today I hope to get out into the garden and potter about seeing what needs doing.
Safe travels Ashcombe and thanks for sharing the lovely picture of your DGS
Relax and enjoy now Sar!
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Grandmadinosaur Tue 03-May-22 07:41:51

Good morning from East Yorkshire where it is damp and a nip in the air.

Today is my coffee morning, GS after school and yet another dance show tonight! Another of the rearranged ones Strictly Professionals.

Today would have been my dear Grandmas birthday. She would have been 108. Her Birthday cake of choice was a strawberry tart! Might have to hunt one out in her honour.

Thinking of you as always GM poignant times for you ?

Take care everyone.

ginny Tue 03-May-22 07:46:28

Good morning all. Up and about early this morning.
We have little Grandson for an hour or two and then are off to visit my Brother band Sister in Law. Just an hours journey.

Glad to hear GM and her husband had a better night an hope that continues.
Marydoll rest and recouperate.

Wishing all a smile or two in your day.

Grandmabatty Tue 03-May-22 07:48:26

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7°, damp and gloomy. Mick what a shame about your show! I think it's pretty rotten that the cast found out the same way. Ashcombe safe journey home. Pantsglas safe journey to Spain. Marydoll I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad night. ?
Yesterday I bought new bedding for the new bed and picked up a dinosaur duvet cover. Dgs1 will be pleased. I have put dinosaurs decals up on the walls too. They replace the cars and lorries from his previous obsession. I made a pot of lentil soup and will freeze half. The rest of the day was very lazy.
Today the bed is delivered and built. Then I'll start to put things back in the bedroom. Have a good day all.

harrigran Tue 03-May-22 08:04:13

Good morning from a grey and damp NE.
DS and GD2 spent the day with me yesterday and we had a riverside walk and visited the glass centre. Our city was known for it's glass making, at the end of the 19th century there were ten bottle works along the Riverside, in more recent times we just had Pyrex.
I made a prawn curry for dinner which was not too hot and then DS and I had a game of Scrabble, I allowed him to win again.
Haven't heard from my sister in Portugal so I am assuming she made it there, her friend needed a wheelchair as she had injured her knee and would be unable to do any of the tours.
I think I will need to do the laundry as I have the day to myself.
Have a good day.

Gingster Tue 03-May-22 08:18:22

Good morning all and it’s grey and damp here in Essex.
GM a difficult day ahead for you. Lots of memories for you ! ❤️.

Chrissie thoughts with you and your DD today. I do hope all goes well without too much discomfort for her. ?.
Sar lovely to hear you arrived safely and are now ensconsed in Your holiday gite! Have an adventurous day!

Yesterday U3A meeting was interesting. The speaker was engaging and the talk was on The Foundlings Hospital. Some of the talks are rather long-winded and yawn inducing , but this was one of the better ones ?. My friend and I always sit near the back door for a speedy departure. ?

Mick - I was very surprised to read about Cinderella. I saw it last September and it was brill! Hope you get your refund quickly . ?.

Today I have my Bridge club this afternoon. I might go along for the evening session as well. I’ll see how the old brain holds out. ?. They are struggling for players in the evening, so I would like to support them.

Safe journey home Ash
Enjoy LWW - Urms
Take it easy Marydoll
Hope you all have a ‘good’ day.
???

Chris3 Tue 03-May-22 08:33:56

Good morning all from a rather damp South Yorkshire. The dog is off to the groomers this morning then I need to take my mum for a blood test.
Grandmattie ?
Wishing you all a good day xx

Pittcity Tue 03-May-22 08:34:27

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. Good journey home, although Lisbon airport is a shambles.
Charity shop volunteering today and unpacking properly later. Hoping for a couple of good days for the holiday laundry.
DH is in my good books as he, with help from DS, decorated our bedroom while I was away. It has become a tradition as he did it when I went with the girls to New York many years ago....
Love to all ? x

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 03-May-22 08:44:17

Good morning from a dull and almost wet Oxfordshire.
Made a bucket of soup yesterday and gave half to MissOops to take home, ditto the fairy cakes, bread making again today, but to freeze. I might tackle 2 of the bedrooms that still have to be Spring Cleaned, or I might not.
Seeds to plants, runner beans and peas to transplant later, depending on the weather, they are so big they will have to go out and chance their luck with any frosts.
MrOops mate here for supper tonight so I’ll have to sort that out too.
Apart from that nothing to do!
Have a good day everyone GM my thought are with you as always and anyone else who is having a bumpy time ?

Anniebach Tue 03-May-22 08:47:48

Good morning Auntyflo and all x
