We went for a week and loved it. Not a beach holiday more for the history. DH loved the military history. There are also lots of historical sights, including wonderful caves. I think all this has been mentioned upthread. One unusual visit we made was to a large house in the main street of Valletta that was still owned by the family which allowed tours. The most spectacular thing was the huge, and I mean huge, underground reservoir tank ( empty of course) where the whole group could stand. It was used as an air raid shelter in the war for the people of the town. We would not have know about this place if we had not been told about it by local lady sitting next to me in the plane.
